Ashley Park offers a mix of homes and apartments, making it ideal for those looking for rentals in Charlotte. On the weekends, locals stop by Rhino Market and Deli to pick up sandwiches and picnic essentials for an outing at Camp Greene Park, where they stroll along the walking paths or pick-up a game of basketball on one of the 12 courts.
In the fall, residents attend the Carolina Panthers games at the Bank of America Stadium and cheer on their favorite football team. Sports fans enjoy watching the Charlotte Hornets shoot hoops at the Time Warner Cable Arena. Before games, many local residents stop by Draught for short rib mac and cheese or duck pot pie. With the Ashley Park neighborhood only a mere three miles from the city center, locals find easily accessible public transit in the bus line weaving through the area.

Property Ratings at ARIUM FreeMoreWest
Arium is a great place to live , can’t beat the location with several food options and grocery stories in the area . The staff is very welcoming and likes to get to know there residents.
- Parking situation is awful - you are allowed one (1) parking pass per person on your lease. There are not enough resident spots for this, so even the residents need to use the visitor parking spots when people come home at night. There are only 6 visitor parking spots for the entire community. If you have more than one car, they will do nothing to work with you on that. If you have friends spending the night, good luck finding a visitor spot for them to park in. The management is also very happy to call the tow truck every time they see a non registered car parked in a spot after 8pm, which costs 200$ for a drop fee if you catch them before they take you to an impound, or 200$ + 60$ a day if they do impound it as they do not notify you if your car or your friends car is towed. They claimed that the road in front of the complex is city owned and operated and therefore not under their jurisdiction, but to work around this they have a CMPD gaurd on site to give approvals for towing off the public road as well. Good luck with parking after work, or having friends over. - Miserable renter/management relations - NOTE: Pre Arium complaints as I moved out shortly after the Arium acquisition. Upon moving in, there was a lot of damage from the previous resident. Upon giving the front office this information they said it would be taken care of before I moved in ( 2 weeks after I told them about it). None of it was fixed at the time of move in, and not acknowledged by management at all. I also had to wait for 5 days for a key to be made so I could start moving in, after I gave them a weeks heads up to my move in date. They also raised the rent by $200 every year. Not worth without any additional admenities. Good food and drink in the area though, and close to all the fun things to do in Charlotte. Good luck, would not recommend.
This apartment complex was called Morehead West Luxury Apartments until about 2 months ago when Arium took it over. You can tell 'Luxury" is no longer in the name! For all you prospective residents BEWARE! Arium... If you are going to take over a property at least take it over in excellence. Every email that I have received from the office has a spelling or punctuation error. Corporate if you don't believe me, check for yourself. The trash cans overflow and there is trash in the breezeways. For weeks they didn't have any wipes for the gym. When they finally put some in they put 1 small Clorox container that lasted about 3 days. Its not hard to put cleaning solution in a spray bottle with a roll of paper towels. Even finding paper towels to dry your hands off in the bathroom was nonexistent. I asked the office if they could replace the yoga mats because the ones they have are disintegrating. She said that was an easy fix and she would order some right away. Three weeks later...nothing. I know you have a line item in your budget for gym repairs. Why don't you use it? The pool has been closed for almost 3 weeks because they failed inspection when they had to replace a filter. I get it. Stuff happens. It takes time to get the part and install it. But if you were operating in excellence the pool wouldn't be closed. Now they have implemented a new parking system in which visitors can't park unless they pay. FYI it's $3 per hour so if you have any guests coming they will either have to pay to park, find street parking or snag 1 of only 4 visitor spots that don't require you to pay. Good luck :) Also if you are up for renewal your renewal offer will probably be an increase of 20% or more. Yep, you pay more for less. I know renewals are based on the surrounding market and I checked at other complexes and their average renewal rate increase was less than 20%. The office staff is very nice and I don't think it is entirely their fault because to some degree their hands are tied by a company that wants 5 star reviews and excellence but severely misses the mark.
Your car will likely be vandalized at some point The staff is indifferent towards your concerns. People can’t visit you because they tow. The location is not great and the amenities are falsely advertised
since my June move in , there has been 4 car break ins and a stolen vehicle. Constant construction noise and the entry way being blocked with no notice , especially since it is only one way in and out.
I've had a number of issues with them during my move in period , I won't go into detail. I figured it was due to new management taking over so chaos is to be expected. Nadia (PM) is nice , seems to care. They do try to be helpful but I'm not a fan on my neighbors. Be prepared to step in dog poop every where. Although the complex supplies bags people still just allow their pets to go anywhere. The walls are paper thin. And honestly the overall construction is cheap. They make you pay 25 bucks for wifi that is crappy. Not very good for streaming. 35 dollars for trash but they don't pick up on Friday and Saturday. How luxury is that ? Trying to get anybody on the phone in the office is the hardest part. Have to call at least 3 times. But the maintenance guys are the best as they are prompt and really sweet. No issue with them. Not a fan on the new parking system they're implementing. You have to get a guest pass from the office but if the office is closed how can you get a pass ? Especially since the pass expires after three days . And you only get 20 passes in a year ? We pay more than enough rent to be able to have guest when we went and as many as we want. The parking here isn't that bad. They should do away with that system and the decals altogether. It's a headache
Stacey has been extremely unprofessional and unpleasant to work with.
Management is highly unprofessional, and will drive you up a wall with the hidden fees and also poor judgement on how to communicate properly with tenants who have issues
Pros: New Apts Clean place Quality neighbors Management Pool, gym, etc Don't require big deposit amount Cons: Parking Towing you car if there is no sticker Guest parking lot is too small Guest parking lot is always full Bad neighborhood Parking rules are the worst I ever seen. So many residents will move to another Apts as they say, Just bc of parking. I mean they tow your car btwn 9- 10 pm to 8 am. Most of the time your guest won't be able to find any spot in guest parking which is outside of the premise. And they broke into many visitors cars. Btw, the tow truck company they hired is worst of the town.
From the minute I stepped on this property I was in love. Not only was Nicole, the property manager, very friendly and helpful, the apartments were gorgeous. I applied that day and moved in a week after and have loved living here ever since. I've met some great people, enjoyed all the brand new features of the apartment and drive 5 minutes to any and every where. If you are looking for a luxurious but still affordable apartment, look no further!
