Property Ratings at Arlington Minuteman Towers
I am very disappointed with my experience here at Minute Man towers. Free heat and hot water really means a boiling hot apartment in the winter and consistently cold showers. The management company continues to raise the rent, but is unresponsive to the water/heating issues. The company has been scaling back their maintenance of the buildings as well. This year's snow removal has been dramatically scaled back compared to last year. You will have to wait a while to be dug out, hopefully you don't have a job or anywhere else important to be! Broken elevators, and faulty smoke detectors are a common issue in these buildings. The superintended was told to replace my unit smoke detector by Arlington FD after they were called for a fire alarm. That never happed. All I can say is good luck if you move here, and be sure to circle the end date of your lease on your calendar!
It is in a good location close to a movie theater and shops. The good stops there. The bad has all to do with the management. Here is a partial list to warn you. 1. They don't respond to maintenance calls in time unless you locked yourself out. In that case they will be happy to let you in for a 25 dollars fee, which was recently raised to 35 dollars. 2. Negligent about safety. The state certificate on the elevator is about four years old. The elevator often malfunctions and the fire alarm goes off frequently in the summer. Tenants have to call the fire department. 3. They violate the lease contract. For example they rented the house with parking and after some time decided to have an additional parking fee of 100 dollars a month. 4. They keep raising the rent.
I live here and the apartments are fine but the management is terrible. It took many months to get water damage repaired on my ceiling and they raised the rent $50 last year. They also rented to me with parking included but now are charging $100.
