Jacksonville’s close proximity to Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River makes it a popular area for military personnel and civilian D.O.D. employees to find off-base housing; as a result, the local culture is heavily focused on the military.
The city’s nightlife scene and shopping centers like the Jacksonville Mall are popular hangouts. The area surrounding Riverwalk Park is full of historic brick buildings and quaint storefronts, giving the area a sense of rustic charm – it’s the perfect place to find your new favorite coffee shop.
For weekend trips, folks in Jacksonville enjoy easy access to large nature preserves like Hofmann Forest and the beaches of Emerald Isle. With an exceptionally low cost of living, apartments and rental houses are available to fit any budget.

Property Ratings at Arlington West
Awesome place! The property management team is wonderful and everyone is in a good mood all the time here.
I’ve lived here since 2021 and the maintenance workers have always been fast and have great attitudes. Shout out to Chad and Bull both for being awesome!
I’ve lived here for about 6 monthes and each time I’ve had a problem with my apartment maintenance has always been great by helping and fixing what is needed to be done right away. Today I had great help from Chad and Bull, they were very nice and efficient. They deserve a raise lol
While they offer several different lease lengths, if you want to switch from say a 12 month to a 9 month lease they hit you with massive fees, so much so that it may be worth it to just pay the extra 3 months. Really left me disappointed with this place.

Thank you for your feedback, Bobby. We appreciate you taking the time to address this issue. We do our best to accommodate all living situations by having flexible lease terms. While we are able to offer a wide range of options, this does come at the cost of Short Term Fees. We would be to discuss further or hear any suggestions that you may have. Feel free to call us at (910)938-1700. Regards, Arlington West Apartments
I have lived here for almost a year now and I’m sadly moving out due to getting out of the military and moving back home. This apartment complex is phenomenal. They respond to problems within a day and maintenance is always efficient. They put a lot of hard work into making this place great. The ground workers deserve a shout out for always picking up inconsiderate people’s dog poop. Thanks guys!!! I’m sad to be leaving but I’m so happy I had such a nice experience here. Highly recommend!!
Look elsewhere if you don't want to deal with inconvenience after inconvenience. They raise their rates every lease renewal. They will take your chairs away from your front door, yet let other people keep them in front of their doors. They will accuse you of leaving pet hair on their "breezeway" when our dog is short haired dark coated dog, the hair was white/yellow dog hair and our neighbors had a yellow lab. There are many other apartments out there that are much better than Arlingron West.

Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about this issue, Ashley. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that standard was not met in your interaction with us. We do apologize that we had to remove furniture from the exterior of your breezeways, however large items are not permitted due to safety hazards in accordance with the fire department municipal guidelines. These guidelines were previously discussed with residents residing in the apartment home. Please get in touch with us on (910) 938-1700 and we'd be happy to help you out. Sincerely, Nicole Lowery-Business Manager
I have been a residence here for almost 2 years and the staff have been horrible. They are rude and lazy. The maintenance is slow and never fixes anything when they respond to a trouble ticket. Half of the "amenities" they offer are closed for months at a time. They raise rent 3-5% every year even if you're renewing a lease. The wiring in the outlets is shotty at best. They fine you if you forget to bring a chair inside your apartment and throw the chair away without even knocking on your door. They aren't open for long enough for anyone with a normal 9-5 job to go get packages that get taken to the clubhouse. The "gym" they offer is 1 treadmill and some dumbell. The pool was supposed to be closed for 2 weeks but was closed for 2 months in the middle of summer. They wont help you if you call with a question and seem irritated when anyone walks in the office with a question. The appliances are low end. Overall would recommend a trailer home or renting one room in someone else's home.

Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about this issue, Keevon. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that standard was not met in your interaction with us. I understand your frustration with the pool being temporarily closed, however it was closed for the purpose of replastering the entire pool. It had large holes from the previous plaster chipping out and posed a safety hazard for our residents. We take safety very seriously and ensured the issues were taken care of. Our pool did reopen on June 14th, prior to the beginning of summer season. It does concern me that you mention half of the amenities being closed for months when the pool was the only item that was down temporarily. I would love to speak to you in regards to any other amenities you feel were not open and available for your use. We do also apologize for removing furniture items from your breezeway, however our staff has previously spoken with members of your household in regards to the items not being permitted in the breezeways per the fire municipal codes. If you have any issues getting to our office between the hours of 9-6 on Friday and 10-4 on Saturdays to retrieve any packages you have here, we are always more than happy to personally deliver them to your apartment home with your written permission. We understand everyone has different working hours and we would be more than happy to accommodate you. Please get in touch with us on (910) 938-1700 and we'd be happy to help you out. Sincerely, Nicole Lowery-Business Manager
I have lived here for 7 years and the staff is amazing...they are professional, timely, friendly and very good at their jobs. The maintenance staff goes out of their way to be sure that all is well in my apartment and I would highly recommend it as a pleasurable place to live. The pool and clubhouse are very nice and kept clean. All in all, a great place to live! :-)
Great place to live, it's clean and welcoming but after your first contract your rent will go up every month so beware about how hard it will be to move out if you can't afford the rent change. But other than that it's been very nice living here for the past 1.3 years!
When I first toured around Jacksonville, I knew Arlington West was where I wanted my husband and I's first "home" to be. We have the two bedroom apartment, I love the kitchen, the countertops were a plus, I also loved the "sunroom" area for my workspace. But, by far, my favorite thing about Arlington West is the staff! They know me by name and make me feel so welcomed! The resident events are awesome and my maintenance orders are fixed in a timely matter. This was my first experience living in an apartment and they definitely made it a great one. Okay, so now you are probably looking for the downside to all this amazingness. The only two bad things I have to say can literally be found at any other complex worldwide. Noisy upstairs neighbors and some residents not picking up after their pets, which none of these have to do with the complex itself, it has to do with the residents who live there. But, literally those are the only bad things I got. This apartment complex is reasonably priced, in a good location and has a great staff.
Walk up to your apartment, open your door using an electronic key, punch in your code on the security system, and look at the tall ceilings and very nice tile floors. Walk into your laundry room, where a super capacity washer and dryer await. Check out the large open floor-plan, with a spacious dining area leading into a beautiful kitchen. Invite friends over for drinks at your granite covered bar/ island. Observe the very useful black appliances, everything you need, from oven and refrigerator to large microwave and dishwasher. The double sinks in the kitchen include a very convenient garbage disposal system. Also included is a large pantry and beautiful dark cabinets, and plenty of them, accented by the awesome choice of lighting fixtures! Walk toward the living-room and check out the beautiful archway with a round column on each side, a great a piece of character that adds to this excellent apartment. Stay cool with the central air or turn on the ceiling fan to save energy. Set up exercise equipment, a playroom, or library in the extra 100 feet that is the sun-room. check out the two spacious bedrooms with huge, well-lit, walk-in closets. Go into the very large master bathroom and enjoy a nice relaxing soak in the garden tub. This two bedroom, two bathroom, 1275 sq foot, quality built apartment is comfortable, safe, and best of all, family and pet-friendly. When you want to enjoy the beautiful North Carolina weather, take your kids to the clean, safe playground, grill with family, walk your dog on the large, grassy areas or at on of the two dog run areas with provided doggy pick-up bags and trash receptacles, or enjoy the very convenient saltwater pool. Or maybe the weather isn't so sunny? Enter the clubhouse and hit the tanning bed! When you are done there, enjoy the fitness center, or play a game of 8-ball at the pool table. Another option is that you can just grab a cup of coffee and watch some television with your neighbors, or maybe attend one of the many fun community events. This apartment community is a great choice for all types of people, single, married, or geo-bachelors. The rent is extremely reasonable, the staff members are all super-friendly, the grounds are kept clean, and maintenance is fast, friendly, and good at what they do. This large, aesthetically-pleasing apartment community is also in a great location, with shops, restaurants, and bars a few minutes away, and the Marine Corps base is only a 15 minute drive. Come and see! View L
