Property Ratings at Arlo Apartments
Have lived here for over 9 years. If you enjoy hot showers, clean dishes or anything that involves Hot Water...this is NOT the apartment complex for you. I have had issues with my hot water going out just about every other month and it usually lasts for several days. Right now I have just completed 3 WEEKS with no hot water. New owners bought complex about three years ago and have raised the rent $100-$300 every month. Local Manager is nice, but she has no backup from the owners....in some other state.
Do you want to pay a premium price for a slum apartment and do nothing, know nothing management? This is it! Put some new paint on and cover up the water problems, air conditioner from the 1960s, cheap stick-on vinyl flooring, and pay for the owners' utilities with shady "shared" utility and CAM charges. Want to pay $200-250 in utilities every month on top of the outrageous rent? Move right in! There is no gate, no security, and no maintenance. Everything is OLD with a thin layer of paint. The worst place to call home in Albuquerque.
I lived at Ambassador East for five years. The rent was cheap and the neighborhood seemed quiet. The office staff were nice but inefficient. Things always took forever to resolve. The buildings are very old and have not been taken care of. We were always fighting bugs. Maintenance was the worst I’ve ever experienced. It caused me many tears. And, as time went on, crime became worse and worse in the neighborhood! My kids and I moved somewhere safer. When I moved, they hit me with a bunch of undisclosed fees that were NOT part of my lease and blamed it on the new company that bought the property. Ridiculous. We have a really nice place now and I’m happy to have moved on. I cannot recommend this place unless you’re desperate for something totally cheap.

I loved these apartments. If I ever move back into an apartment this would be where I'd go. The management was friendly and helpful; the maintenance was prompt. I loved my 2 bedroom 2 bath, it was very spacious with two walk in closets giving me more than enough space. Would definitely recommend!
I love my apartment here. I am in a one bdrm but am looking to moving up to a two bedroom. The courtyard is beautiful! On the ground floor you have the 18 inches in front of your patio to do with whatever you want. I planted a small garden and I got wonderful tomatoes. Am planning on broadening my horizons and planting more this year. For the most part, it is usually a nice, quiet and peaceful place to live. I started with the 6 month lease and extended to a one year lease after my 6 months ended. The property manager is always available for discussions or complaints. My apartment didn't have a ceiling fan, but all I had to do was ask and one is being installed. I plan on staying for a long time, just as several other tenants have also done.
The apartments are nice, however there are no ceiling fans as stated, only walk in closets in one room of the 2br units, there is no clubhouse or business center, and the walls and floors are like paper. no dogs allowed on site yet residents have dogs, and guests must park on the street. Pool is freezing because they are too cheap to buy a heater, and they enter your apartment without consent or warning. If you complain about something they laugh about it and never do anything to fix it. also the manager chooses her favorite residents and gives them special treatment while the rest get treated like scum. The stairs are dangerous and the fountains have been "being repaired" for 3 years. Sure the utilities are paid, but its so not worth it to live in this dump.
