Property Ratings at Arnhem Apartments
This place is nice. Most people are friendly. There are a few downfalls. One major one is that the rent constantly goes up every year by at least $50-$75-$100 dollars per month. Not every one gets the same increase, and there are certain people who don't get and increase at all. In the winter months, you can expect to not have the walk ways shoveled till early evening or late at night. The complex manager never asks people to move their cars so the plows can do their job and plow our parking spots out. Most people never move their cars for a few days. It becomes such a mess. Other then that, the rooms are nicely sized and there is plenty of closet space. It is also in a nice area, with nice surrounding towns.
My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to move in together, and we needed to live fairly close to his job which is unfortunately in an expensive area of NJ. This wouldn't be so hard if we didn't need a good deal of space. When we came across Arnhem Apartments, we fell in love. So in love, we signed a 2-year lease! The apartment is huge, all hardwood floors, private entrance (we are upstairs) and has a beautiful view of the courtyard. It's like a little community - our neighbors are sweethearts, friendly but also quiet. It's a small group of apartments...only about 30 units...so you never feel like you won't be taken care of. Each apartment also has a deck and 2 air conditioners. And - the best part - heat and water are included and the stove is gas, so all you have to worry about is electric! Did I mention the lovely ceiling fan? It's the best. As far as location - perfect. Ample parking, and a mile from two grocery stores, shopping, and even a gorgeous wildlife sanctuary that is completely free to visit on a nice day. Commuting to NYC doesn't get much easier - there's even a bus stop just a few minute walk down the road. My one and only downside to this apartment is that the A/C units are not energy savers, so it can cause a higher electric bill in the hotter months. So, in closing, I HIGHLY recommend Arnhem Apartments!
Right smack in the middle of Midland Park the apartments at Arnhem leave you within minutes of several grocery chains and nearby Ridgewood, with its eclectic array of restaurants. Within a 15 minute drive you'll find 2 major malls as well as access to NYC, with a bus/train within walking distance. The grounds themselves are beautiful, tucked away from the actual main road and built around a well maintained courtyard. Most apartments come equipped with a balcony to take in the sun and enjoy the park-like atmosphere. The only real downside we've noticed so far is that there is a single garbage dumpster and [cardboard only] recycling dumpster which by the end of the week doesn't seem to be enough and ends up overflowing. We're still confused as to why we cannot recycle bottles/cans on premise but it's a small price to pay.
