Property Ratings at Ascent at Signal Mountain
If you want to live in a mold infested apartment with a leasing management who doesn’t give any care in the world about their tenants and it’s like pulling teeth to even communicate with them, then this is the place for you! Started with the leasing manager breaking our door frame because of a “deck check”. We had the dead bolt on because we were home and she just tried to barge in. We asked for months for someone to come out just for them to fix the wrong thing. Your electric outlets. Expect them to go out every 2 months. Dog poop everywhere. Nobody cleans out the trash bins for the poop bags, either so there’s poop bags on the ground and around. My 2 year old couldn’t sleep in her room for 6 months until we finally left because her wall was half way cracking and moldy because of a roof leak that nobody also wanted to fix. The wall literally sounds like it is going to collapse any second. Nobody cares. They only care about the outside and what it looks like.
I recently left this apartment and I would never go back. There was mold all over the apartment, a constant leak from the upstairs bathroom, and several issues with the management. Our apartment flooded one night at 10 pm. We called the emergency maintenance number and never got a response. It took them two days to actually come out to our apartment. They have hiked up the rent because of renovations, but do nothing to fix the internal problems with the apartments. I would not recommend living here to anyone.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I moved to Chattanooga Tennessee from Wisconsin eight months ago and expected to live in a beautiful apartment. I was lied to about the condition of my apartment. It was infested with cockroaches, the carpets were completely torn up, my bathroom ceiling was caving in, and they wouldn’t switch me over to a new apartment. I still have not gotten my security deposit back and nothing had been fixed in my apartment until two days after I left. This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with an apartment complex. The worst customer service no one cares about your living situations and NOTHING WILL GET FIXED THE WHOLE TIME YOU LIVE THERE.
Roach infested complex. They have no intentions of fixing this issue.$2 a month is they’re pest control budget. Never actually seen them treat anything. Very poor policies during renovations. They want to remodel while youre still living in space, bye bye privacy. Management has no interest of working with people or actually fixing any of the complex’s actual issues. New owners as far as I can tell just want to cover the old with new, to justify jacking prices up. Pool was closed all year and never got any kind of reimbursement because of it. When I challenged the office on this issue, I was informed that the pool is “Free” so there wouldnt be reimbursement, even tho the pool isn’t free because the pool factored into why we would want to live there and then didn’t even get to use it. Very roach infested, didn’t know till it was too late. Hated living here every day. Definitely do not recommend especially if you have kids.
Do not live here. Rent is skyrocketing for "renovations" you will never see, that they haven't even started on.

I’ve lived here for a few months and haven’t had any problems. The staff is great and easily reachable and attentive. Obviously, it’s older and there could be some updates. But it’s great for what you pay!

Under new management. Signed a 2 month/60 day lease under the old management. Now being told we need to give a 60 day notice and will have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a crappy 1 bedroom apartment with mold growing in the air vents through December. Not a great move by new management. Do not recommend moving here at all

See how the same maintenance issues reappears on all different review sites for all different tenants from this place consistently? Managements response is damage controlon a case by case basis. They want the louder tenants to "Call us and we'll prioritize you" rather than fixing the overall problem. Heres the problem. There has to be nearly 100 apartments in this complex. And yet it seems theres only 3 maintenence guys servicing the entire place. Maybe thats why, if you ask those workers why your apartments AC hasnt been serviced in 2 weeks, they'll say there are 12 other broken Air Conditioning Units ahead of you. RADCO. HIRE A BIGGER, COMPETENT, MAINTENANCE TEAM OR PUT THE MONEY IN TO OUTSOURCE THE WORK TO THIRD PARTIES. EVERYONE I speak to in the parking lot has a serious issue with their apartment that hasnt been addressed in months because management is too cheap to hire more people or outsource some of this work.

If you live here you may be one of people who have your back porch looking like your living in the projects, mold on the ceiling boards, roaches, unkept grounds, unprofessional management, and maintenance that doesn’t return phone calls or fix issues.

Had a leak, hole develope on our bedroom ceiling onto the mattress. After reporting it to the office and maintenance it took three days to get anyone out to see it, at which time they did no fixes or gave me plans for a future fix. Just left. When I called the office to ask when I could expect a fix and was told no one had reported the issue. When I asked about what steps to take concerning replacing a very expensive mattress I was told I was out of luck and there is nothing they could do even though we pay their mandatory insurance program every month on top of our personal coverage. Now thing happen I am aware, but this is after several similar issue and problems with management and maintenance. Will never recommend anyone to this complex.

We have lived here 4 years, moving from the north, and are so glad we choose Mountain Creek. The big yard and woods around us make us feel like we are home. Not being from the south we wanted a property that was managed, and a good price. Yet the deal breaker was our dog. They are pet friendly, the price was right and the new owners really seem to be investing in the property and the new managment gets things done. Did i mention our neighbors? They rock! They have been so welcoming to us.

Pets are an important part of our family and we love providing great spaces for them! We are lucky to have wonderful residents like you living at Radius Mountain Creek! Have a great day!
They never answer maintenance calls. I have called 4 times about a towel rack being down in my bathroom... the first time they came and put it on crooked, the second time they pulled it off the and left it laying in my bathroom floor, the third time they patched the holes and the time they didn't come at all. I had to call three times to get them to fix a leak with my sink. I've had three different times that the ceiling has leaked from what ever weirdness my upstairs neighbor is doing. I called asking about my lease they told me it was up 10/7 and said I had until 9/7 to report it after leaving me on hold for 5 minutes to check and then I get an email back saying going to have to pay an extra month because require a 60 day notice?! They also gave the company I work with a lot of issues with me being installed to work at home.... avoid this place all costs.

Please stop by the leasing office so we can address all of the issues you've raised here. Have a wonderful day.
If I could give zero stars I would! Ever since the new company came in in this place has gone so far down hill it's pathetic! They have attitudes and treat you more like a nuisance than a resident. Our ceiling started leaking they took 4 months to fix the hole they made and 4 different inspections in which time we got black mold from what they did. They are rude and not professional. They screwed up our rent and we paid it for months what they said it was then the wanted all the back money at once and refused to admit they screwed up even though we had photographic proof. Do not move here this place is terrible and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Did I mention that my ceiling is leaking again? Yeah because it is! Screw this place.
I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. A couple months ago it was taken over by new management and owners and they are terrible. Don't be deceived by the model apartments they show you, because yours will look nothing like it. It takes them weeks to fix and do repairs. Don't be deceived by the prices either, those are without utilities, so add another $200/month additional (we know this because we are coming up on renewal and we got offered a new price which was about the same, and then it was mentioned that utilities were NOT included and that was an additional $200 a month). I will be moving elsewhere because the service is terrible, the apartments are run down, and price is outrageous for what you're getting.

Dear Resident, I understand your frustration and apologize that we didn't meet your expectations. Please call me at (423) 680-6603 to discuss how we can improve in the future.
The apartments here look pretty good when you go tour the models and tour available apartments but don't believe it. We found this complex toured a few models and liked them so we put a pre-lease down on an apartment had the utilities and such set up for move in day two months away. Then the problems started the management at mountain creek kept saying the apartment would be ready to be viewed in a week and then it was another week and so on till the week before we moved in they finally decided to tell us that they had done any work on the apartment to get it ready. **this apartment had water damage** So we had to move to another (more expensive apartment) and had reschedule all of our utilities. Starting day one we had building wide roach problem and major roof leaks in many of the buildings. Now I understand there are bugs anywhere you live but here it shouldn't be this bad. At mountain creek you pay for pest control in rent but they don't do anything past a monthly spray that doesn't work, anything more than that spray it's on our own dime. But enough about bugs there's also the litter, shingles are falling off the buildings, vandalism, and fires/arson. As for the leaking, in my apartment we had rain come through the first weekend and it started leaking. We called maintenance they came and looked at it, poked a whole where the leak was to let it pour out and said they'd be back to fix it on Monday. Monday went by they never came so we told the office about it and we were told it would be taken care of. This was all in early May, after 2 months in late June they still haven't done anything to fix it, we go to the office again but with a more "persistent attitude" nothing was still done about it until early September. All while we have been breathing in mold and having water pour into a tub every time it rains. I also I know these problems are not limited to me because the apartment across the hall moved out due to roaches and water problems. Also the couple below us are having so many issues with the management and roaches they are cancelling their lease and moving out. What I am really trying to get across here is that the apartment managers here do not care about their residents health or safety and they will lie to you about everything. Do not live here it is not worth the cost and the rest of the problems you will encounter. And to top it off we were the target of a terrorist FBI raid a few months back.
This is my second time living at Mountain Creek Apartments. The First time I moved out was because the place was going down hill. In 2008 I was looking again for an apartment in the area and stopped by to look at the "old" place where I had lived. To my shock the place was amazing. The tennis courts were resurfaced, the street were re-sealed, The pool was redone and new furniture was all around it, the weight room had all new equipment. The thing that impressed me the most was the management team. They always respond to my needs in a timely fashion. I have and will continue to recommend this property in the future.
Apartments are a little older, but still mostly nice. I've only lived here for a little less than two months and my air conditioner was out for two weeks... They provided a window unit. But I still feel like they would not have fixed it had I not harassed them about it. People let their dogs out without leashes.
