For over half a century, Huntsville has been associated with the development and testing of rockets for space exploration. This idyllic community in the Appalachian foothills of northern Alabama is a powerhouse of high-tech innovation for both civilian and military applications, with Redstone Arsenal, Cummings Research Park, and NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center driving the local economy. Living in the Huntsville area, you are likely to hear sounds from helicopters and rocket engines on a fairly regular basis.
The city’s intellectual values extend into the local schools as well, which are among the best in the state. But even though the city is home to such a large and unique scientific community, Huntsville retains a timeless atmosphere of Southern charm. Beautiful historic architecture is all around, especially in the Twickenham and Old Town Historic Districts.
Huntsville offers an array of apartments and houses available for rent in every style and budget imaginable.

Property Ratings at Ascent Jones Valley
I would rate it 0 if it was possible. I've lived here a long time and want to give it a positive review but I just can't. Rent hikes, poor matienance, and terrible communication from office staff. If you are a resident on and need to reach them or need a matienance request, be prepared to go to the office because they will not answer the phone. They will give no 60 day notice for you moving out, and instead spring a comparatively cheap rent hike a day after your 60 is up. If I had been given a form before or on I could have avoided it. TLDR: Just go somewhere else

We have lived here for going on 2 years and the office staff and maintenance are amazing. we cannot wait to renew for another year.
The older reviews on here reflect Brittany Pointe which was the previous apartment complex here. Ascent at Jones Valley is entirely different management, floor plans and everything from what there was previously. My husband and I lived here for almost 2 years and we have loved it. We left for a year to try out a rental home and we are coming back home to Ascent at the end of our lease. :) Maintenance is responsive, the office staff are super nice, friendly and professional and we’ve never felt unsafe here. This place is home.
These are older apartments, and the remodel was done very quickly and cheaply. The landscaping is nice around the main office and then neglected on other parts, but this doesn't help with the pest issues. There are many gaps and ways for these pests to get in your home. In the 1.5 years I have lived here we have had mice, and giant roaches. Pest control doesn't help when they are still able to get in and reproduce through the walls. Management and staff is nice at first to get you in, but then the tone quickly changes whenever a problem arises. Maintenance is awesome; however, they can only fix what they are given a small budget and supplies for. They say they offer two clean swimming pools; however, the one by my apt has been closed and remains closed so far. Last I tried to use the fitness room it had many broken cardio equipment, haven't went back since. I have two pets, it was $300 for the first and when I got the second pet, one person told me it would be an addition 200 and the other 300. There's also small print in the lease that says they will charge a deodorizing fee on top of the non refundable pet deposit. The amount for this fee is not listed so they can make that number up. Regardless of the condition or smell from pets, they will always charge you this fee. Read the fine print.
This place is beautiful. The units were great, it is well maintained. The parking does suck in some areas. The thing that I found to be the worst ever, their leasing policy. They have this strict policy that anyone over the age of 19 has to fill out a rental application. Ok, makes sense I guess. The part I had a big issue with is that they say they can tell you who can and cannot live with you, based only on the persons credit score! Example, say your child has some issues and needs to move back in with you. You tell the leasing office about it. They make them fill out an application because they are over the age of 19. Well guess what, if your child has bad credit the leasing office will tell you that they can't live with you... because of a CREDIT SCORE. Not a background check, a credit score. Doesn't matter how long you have lived there they think they have the right to tell you who can and cannot live with you based on a credit score. I'm sorry but that is just bull!
My family moved to Huntsville from Texas and entered into our lease at Brittany point having never stepped foot on the property. The ladies in the leasing office made everything extremely simple for us. The apartment was clean and well maintained and was a great landing spot for us while we learned our way around a new city. The maintenance crew was quick to respond to the couple of issues we had and had things taken care of within 24 hours. The pool was great and my kids (age 3 and 7) loved spending some of the hot days there. We will definitely recommend Brittany Point to family and friends!
well i have been here 3 years now everyone is great leasing agents are great and the landlady is great recently had carpets cleaned great job and the maint staff are awesome if your looking for a great place to live its hear and andrea will do what it takes to make everything rite.
Avoid this abysmal place like the swine flu. If I could give this establishment a NEGATIVE 5 STARS! I would do so. Do not, if you value your sanity or your money, enlist yourself with this troupe of delinquents. The "units" and I use the term loosely, are poorly designed and ill-constructed. The parking is dreadful. I wondered on several occasions if I was going to have to call a cab to take me from my parking spot to my front door. Further, there are no speed bumps anywhere in the parking lot. Do not let your kids out there; they will get hit by someone screaming around a corner. Our neighbors were all very loud and obnoxious. From the explicit late night romps to the loud banging and clanging of car radios and other nonsense, the noise never stopped. I found it impossible to sleep without pharmaceutical grade ear plugs and a box fan going. Do not be fooled by any of the pictures you see on the website. The "fitness room" is full of broken equipment and containing a non-working drink vending machine. I never saw it drop the first drink, it will however take your money. This room is also heavily monitored by snooty "sorority girls" whose only real purpose is to walk through occasionally and fill up their water bottles/jugs/cups at the cold water fountain. The swimming pool is filthy and unattended. Go ahead and drown at your own leisure kids! These people are aloof and inconsiderate. In response to your complaints you will hear "Yeah, we will look into it..." Sure you will. The rent was increased through every lease period while we were prisoners (residents) at BP. The only way to avoid that is to go over to the leasing office and threaten to leave. Then, somehow they find a way to keep you in your current exorbitant rate. Your "security deposit" will be exactly that, a deposit going securely toward the accounts of the swindlers that own this "Potter's Field." You will not get it back under any circumstances when you escape; consider it forfeit the moment you hand it off. The tennis courts remind me of a television show that used to air on the History Channel, "When Humans are Gone." Given the option of living in a refrigerator box and one of these hovels, I will take the box. At least I might get some sleep and I get a new fridge! RUN AWAY, PEOPLE, RUN AWAY!!!
I currently rent a townhouse here at Brittany Point and over the past two years everything has been great. The only problem I've had is an electrical outlet stopped working, but the maintenance crew fixed it quickly. Speaking of the maintenance crew, they are all friendly, as is the office staff. Any time I have spoken with them it's all smiles good attitudes. My townhouse is a two bedroom with one and a half baths. Bedrooms are large with plenty of closet space. Decent sized dining room and kitchen with a fully enclosed laundry room large enough for a full size washer and dryer. It's located right next to a good high school and right down the street from stores and restaurants. Also has a large pool and weight room! Overall it has been a great place to live!
