Gastonia is a small city just west of Charlotte on Interstate 85. Ashbrook Village hasn't always had the best reputation but I have not had any problems. I'm a single female and always feel safe. I think it is actually extremely quiet, I never see or hear of loud partying or anyone fighting.

Overall everything is good. My dishwasher nor is my garbage disposal working but I've contacted Maintenace to come out and fix it. I don't like how I have to park 6-8 apartments down from my own, we should have assigned parking.

Love the area and community, however after only 4 days of being a resident I come home to flood in my living room and kitchen due to the bath room tub upstairs. I was assured it would all be taken care of as soon as possible which is nice.

I’m glad I chose to move here, i stay in a newly renovated apartment with a washer and dryer that’s brand new oven new dishwasher have a balcony carpet and hard wall floors. The only thing I would say is I need storage.

Very Nice! I like to enjoy the pool with my husband,. I live here for 7 years . Parking lot, area for barbecue . I have two room apartment with back yard. Good maintenance and management.

Ever since the new management things have been great. The manager Kim is awesome and the maintenance staff is great also. The new renovations are making the property look brand new. In the past has been very disorganized. Staff was not very helpful or friendly in the office previously. So far since new company has taken over I have not interacted much with new staff other than to renew my lease. Staff seems very welcoming and so far seem very helpful in accommodating concerns.

It takes too long for issues to be fixed. There’s not communication. When we put in requests no one ever says anything. It is also hard to reach the manager.

my experience here has been rocky up until we got new management ! every since then everything has been perfect when i put a maintenance order in now they come fix it fast , when i have a problem i call them they don’t hesitate

Wasn't too bad of an experience outside of having a small ant infestation when we first moved in. But Wifey and Myself got the job took care of ourselves! Was a bit overwhelming at the first few nights of being moved in having to wake up and see a group of ants taking over the countertops in the kitchen! Outside that everything was fine! Enough room in the kitchen and living rooms, also the bedrooms were fine by us. 8/10 experience so far which could possibly get better as time goes by.

Really love the new company that took over, D&F. We have had an issue with our front door, had been since we moved in, and they were the first to actually fix it. They also repaved the main road and truly fixed the huge potholes in our area of the complex.

I wish they would actually open the pool. Plus the lower dog park fence is broken and has been for a while. Otherwise I've enjoyed living here.

It's okay. Laundry room has never been usable. Complex has changed hands a number of times in the past three years, each time requiring a whole new payment system.

I HIGHLY do not recommend living here. Thankfully I only had to live here for 6 months, but that was still far too long. They state that there are renovations, but the renovations are terrible. There is glue all over the floor and on the new appliances. The cupboards should have been replaced as well with this "renovation." The toilet was not secured and I almost fell off the first time I tried to use it. They recently got new management and I hoped things would get better, but now I can't get my $400 security deposit back because I moved in under the old management. I contacted them and they stated that the new management has possession of my security deposit. I am very upset. I left the apartment looking better than when I moved in due to the fact that there was dirt all over the floors and in the kitchen. I have never had such a bad experience. The photos were taken the day I moved in. Edit: I’ve tried contacting multiple people to see when I should expect my security deposit. The last reply was a couple months ago with “it takes time to process” This is just sad… Finally got a reply back and they are keeping my deposit and making me pay $500 because I didn’t give a full 60 day notice when I was moving out. Considering I cleaned the place and left it better than when I moved in and was out before my lease was up you would think they would be more considerate of the situation. Don’t have any hope with the new management. I’m disgusted.
I’M NOT EVEN GOING TO GIVE THEM 1 STAR. This place is TERRIBLE. Management is HORRIBLE. Maintenance is HORRIBLE. I have been living here since July of last year and the first day I stayed I put in a work order about my toilets and to this day no one has fixed it. Now there’s a lot more things wrong with the apartment I put in a work order since last year and they still haven’t came. I go every week to get an update of when they are going to come and all they say is “we’re going to print out a new work order and give it to maintenance.” They just switch to a new ownership like 2-3 months ago. I pay my rent on time every month and I still have a balance for I don’t know what. I call the office to ask and all they say is that they don’t know either. This is the worst management I have ever dealt with. All they have to say is “we have to wait until the previous owners send everything over” Honestly don’t even waste your time here. I’m glad my lease is almost over!!

They listed apartments as available that they knew were already booked, and only after you pay $200 to apply do they tell you you're now on a 3 month waiting list. The apartment is not guaranteed, even with good credit and income, and the fee is non refundable. The customer service agents avoid questions and are unhelpful. They list the base pricing for unrenovated units that they no longer offer to encourage more people to apply, but the units are actually $225 more than the listing price.

After reading reviews, I was a little nervous, but upon my first visit, the ladies in the office were so welcoming, I applied right away! Moving in was a breeze, and I've never been happier! Maintenance is friendly and helpful, and office staff greets you with a smile evey time. Glad to live in a place that genuinely cares about their residents.
The ladies in the office are great, always quick to solve any issues ive had since living here. Highly recommended to a few of my peers as a great place to raise children.
Don’t rent from here they don’t keep up with maintenance my apartment had from rat to water leaks and they kept covering up the problem with a bandage instead of finding where the problem was coming from. All they care about is their rent money. Property manager gots to go. Staffing has nasty attitude. They act like you are living there for free.

Honestly the maintenance here is interesting. They won't come out and fix things for you until about a week later, because my AC had been breaking over and over and over and they didn't do anything. Neighbors are horrible. Had a guy get SHOT in his own apartment, then another neighbor is parking directly in front of my front door and refuses to move. He's taking MY parking spot and he acts like it's his own. Don't move here.

This place is horrible. Constant issues with our apartment that we keep telling the office about. Maintenance has not come to fix them for MONTHS. The neighbors are.... interesting. Had one of them sitting on MY front step at night rolling a blunt and proceeded to tell me to not step on their weed when I walked up the steps. Seriously.. lol. You can't order anything offline... I learned that the hard way a few times bc people steal it off your steps if you aren't home...

I live at Ashbrook Village in Gastonia, NC. My roommate & I searched for about a month for a quality apartment that we both loved...we had to have no doubts about it. We literally visited every apartment complex that was in about a 30 mile radius of where we were currently staying. Ashbrook Village was the closest to us, but we did not even want to visit just because of the things we had heard about it & the neighborhood. Finally, after looking at so many apartments and not falling in love with them, we decided to give Ashbrook Village a chance at least. After all, the prices on the internet were very decent & the location was even better...pretty much right in the middle of the city. So, we gave them a call & that day we were able to view a 2 bedroom apt. The Leasing agent, Sonya, was very sweet and helpful. She let us view one layout & then told us that one of the other 2 bedroom 2 bathroom layouts would be available to view the following Monday. That Monday we came back to view it & INSTANTLY fell in love. Brand new carpeting, refrigerator, open living room/breakfast bar & closet space won our hearts. THAT day we put in the application & was ready to embark on our new lives at The Village. Here I am 7 months later still in love. We have not had one problem here so far. All of our neighbors are very friendly, we have a nice pool to swim in on the hot days, & the best part? Maintenance comes out the SAME DAY that you need them. As long as you pay your rent on time, be courteous of your neighbors, & pick up your pets poo when you let them out, I see no reason why anyone would have something negative to say about Ashbrook Village. My favorite thing is sitting on my porch on a pretty day with a beer in my hand, listening to my neighbor across the street playing their saxophone. It's relaxing & stress-free living here. They aren't strict like most apartment complexes are. They allow you 5 days to pay your rent after the first & anything you need they help you with. If I MUST state a con about Ashbrook Village, I would say it would be the red mud that splashes up on the bottom of the vinyl siding when it rains. Luckily my apartment is a brick one. But if that's the only bad thing I have to say about this place, it should tell you that it's a pretty darn nice place to live.
