Property Ratings at Tides at Woodhaven
After living here about 4 years (and never being late on rent or causing any trouble) I lost my job. I could not pay rent in September. Tried to speak with the agency on property and the company itself and was never called back and the manager refused to speak with me. I had complained for months about issues with the apartment such as my roof in the shower caving in and leaking (they closed the original complaints I made without fixing them 2 times!) and the vacated apartment next to me being open for anyone to walk in. I had also brought to their notice that the bridge to my apartment was falling in and told them about black mold in the apartment. I also spoke to them about the neighbor above me letting their dog use the restroom on the balcony which then fell on my balcony. Nothing was done. The pool has been closed for years and they do not respond to complaints or problems in a timely manner. They are the cheapest apartments around for a reason BEWARE. DO NOT MOVE HERE!

This property is awful. First, my toilet has been broken over a month. I have made SEVERAL REQUESTS to get it fixed. I receive emails saying"issue resolved" but it is false information. They won't even respond. Second, I had parts literally stolen off of my car and i think it is due to the poorly lit parking lot. Its completely DARK. No security riding through or nothing. Third, there are SEVERAL laundry facilities located throughout the complex but the machines are always out of order. This property is pathetic!

I lived there in 2016. And I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. We rented a 3 bdrm. Their 3bdrm apt is actually a 2 bdrm with a extra large closet(what they considered the 3rd bdrm.)The complex was not well lite. I would have to leave for work around 4am and I was afraid because it was so dark. Our toilets backed up very frequently. And when that happed it would come up in the tub. Just disgusting. The office staff was just flat out inconsiderate. The maintenance was terrible. Lazy. And not to mention when we first moved there someone was always in our apt when we weren't home. I knew this because things were always coming up missing. So one day my son(18yrs old) was there someone knocked on the door and identified himself as maintenance. So my so let him in. He told him he need to check for some leaks from the upstairs apt.or something. Long story short....the guy that came was a fired maintenance man that still had keys to the apartments. They ended up changing our locks a WEEK later. Also when it rained our apt flood thru the front door. Everytime it rained. All these issues were brought to the attention of the management. Nothing was ever taken seriously. So if you are considering mmoving there...think again. Not a good idea.

We regret learning that you have had a negative experience. Since your stay the Asher has undergone new management, so we can't speak on behalf of your stay. We hope you are happy in your new space. Best,Asher Management
This place is awful. The office is more worried about making the place look good, instead they need to worry about all the bad things that happens in the complex. I can't wait to move out of this place. I wouldn't recommend this place to my ex husband.

My front door was coming loose from it's hinges so I filled out a maintenance form to have it fixed. When I got home from work the hinges were nice and tight. BUT MY FRONT DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. The moron maintenance man left me with a front door that would not close and lock... ...ALL DAY WHILE I WAS AWAY AT WORK. This apartment complex is owned and operated by people that will lie to your face and compromise your safety.
I have lived here for eight and a half months and have had my toilet roto-rootered five times. The sixth time will be this week. My bathroom wall has been cut out three times and has never be reprinted. The last time they just set the drywall patch against the wall. Toilet has been non functional since Thursday, it is midnight Sunday night and it just overflowed. When I moved here you could call in maintenance issues over the phone or via email. Now, a form has to be filled out in person during business hours. Since I usually leave for work before they open and often get home after they close I have to wait several days to fill out maintenance request forms. Maintenance service can take days to be addressed, even if you have no working toilet. After being roto-rootered my toiled is only good for TWO number 2's.
Office staff is generally nice and will promise you the world. They will NOT follow through on their promises! I was shown a very nice apartment. The apartment they assigned to us was not anything like what we were shown. Cabinets were all mismatched, there was a lot of water damage in the bathroom areas, drawers in the kitchen and bathroom were falling apart. There was no microwave. They do not provide screens for the patio doors. We had to bug them constantly to put a handle on the outside of the patio door. It took months to get a lightbulb for the patio light. The tub enclose is vinyl and was painted with a latex paint so the paint is all coming off. The caulking around the tub is horrible. Make sure you get to see the apartment they assign to you before signing the lease. There were a number of things wrong or broken in the apartment we moved into. The office staff and the property manager will make all sorts of promises to fix things. I have been here a year and very little has bee fixed. The head maintenance man calls himself a carpenter. He only made things worse. They have spent a good deal of money renovating the office and placing a few landscaping timbers out. It is nearly time to renew our lease and we hear that they expect to raise the rent by nearly $50. They will tell you they have cameras (they do) but they do not use them. Parking regulations are not enforced. People working for the complex management will park in handicapped spaces and they don't care. There are critters (raccoons or squirrels or both) in the attic. Management says it is not their problem. People walk their dogs without leashes and do not pick up after them. It took eight hours to get a toilet fixed. There was only one toilet in the apartment and a disabled individual living there. The sidewalks are all broken up making it hazardous at night.

It is refreshing to walk into a business and be treated as if you matter. The staff at Oakland Hills was a breathe of fresh air for me. I had been to several communites and was disappointed in the treatment of the staff, they all seemed to busy or put put to help me. Although I was not able to lease at Oakland Hills, their staff was incrediable, from leasing person, to the Manager. I would recommend this place, based on my time there, I honestly was disappointed that I could not move there and I hope I find some where as nice as this with a staff that really cares nd makes you feel as though they care.

Thank you for the review, we truly appreciate it and you.
PRO: Cheap price. Secluded and quiet neighborhood. Parking not enforced. Decent living for low income families. CON: Very slow and unreliable maintenance team. Incompetent and inconsistent leasing office team. Very old apartment units. Delayed utility billing cycle. Suggestions for greater success: Pay rent on time. Get electric supplier elsewhere. Lease for short amount of time.

I will be more than happy to sit down and speak with you, in hopes of finding solutions and resolutions to your happiness here at Oakland Hills.
This apartment complex has been an absolute disaster since day one. Let's start: Maintenance takes FOREVER and you have to remind the front office multiple times before they will fix anything. The exterior lights randomly go out in certain buildings and stay off for DAYS, sometimes WEEKS. Front office is extremely rude if you have any sort of complaint but they are very friendly when you keep your mouth shut and pay your rent. Apartments are very old and, if you live on the first floor, the floors creak above you. Parking here is NOT enforced. DO NOT believe the front office. They will tell you that you need a "visitor's pass" if you have guests overnight. This is simply untrue. Some nights, there are vehicles parked in the handicap spots with no handicap permit/license plate. That's how bad the parking situation here is. Oh, and to put the cherry on top, the front office has been under renovations for MONTHS and they will not receive your packages. In other words, expect MANY different problems to arise when leasing an apartment here with an absolutely worthless front office/maintenance "team". These apartments should be shut down by the City of Fort Worth. What a shame.
On day one the office staff gave me the wrong set of keys and had to install a whole new lock. In the first two weeks the dish washer stopped up. Six weeks after I moved in they were finally able to get a plumber out to fix the toilet. Six weeks after I moved in they finally gave me a single mailbox key but no one could tell me which mail box was mine. Several days later I was able to get the office staff to tell me which mail box was mine and on first use the mailbox key sheared off in the lock. A few days after that the lock was fixed and I had a set of two mailbox keys that both work well. It took a month and a half just to get access to my mailbox. Last week water started leaking out of the ceiling in my bathroom over the shower, pooling on the floor in front of the bathroom sink, and soaking a 2-3 feet section of my living room carpet. A maintenance worker was there ten minutes after I called to fix the problem and supposedly fixed the leak, a broken shower fixture upstairs, however, the leak started again this morning. The ceiling in my bathroom looks like it may cave in in the next few weeks, there is paint peeling off of the walls all around the bathroom sink, the bathroom counter is disintegrating, water is pooling on the bathroom floor, the bathroom counter, the living room carpet, and the bathroom ceiling is soaked and sagging. The company that owns this apartment complex has absolutely no business renting out these units, they are falling apart.
Since day one it has been a horrible experience. Extremely unprofessional staff that will lie to your face and won't get anything done; they just tell you what you want to hear. Have had problems with my neighbors being loud and lighting grills on their balconies, brownish-red ant-like bugs in my restroom, washers in laundry facility are always broken, etc... Not only that but the whole process of getting into our apartment was frustrating and more stressful than it had to be all due to the incompetence of the staff. We're in a different apartment than we were originally supposed to get (b/c they renovated the wrong apartment was what we were told,) we were supposed to get a remodeled apartment with new flooring, lights, blinds and appliances (all that was done were the lights and appliances and THE DAY OF OUR MOVE IN they were putting in carpet as we pulled in with our furniture and had to wait an hour, also we don't have hardwood floor b/c they never renovated the vinyl, blinds are old and dirty.) When we asked about the carpet being done so last minute the guy said that he decided to do it for us as a "courtesy" b/c the carpet that was in there was nasty. When we went in to sign a second lease on the day of our move in for the apartment we were actually gonna be in (b/c the original lease was for the apartment they forgot to renovate) we were practically forced into a year long lease instead of a 6 month lease as we had originally signed. The original lease was for 6 months at $645 rent and the new lease they gave us to sign was for 1 year at $645 and when we pointed out the length of the lease was wrong they said that if we wanted a 6 month lease it would be rent of $690 which isnt what they had originally said. We had no choice but to sign it b/c we already had all our stuff outside the apartment in the truck ready to be unloaded. So now we're stuck here six months longer than planned which I wouldn't mind if it things were the way they're supposed to be. When we first had issues less than a month into living here we emailed Madera and Gina (manager) told us that if we were so unhappy they would let us out of our lease. They really care huh? Since after we signed our first lease for the apartment we were supposed to get things started getting shady. We wanted to leave before we even began unloading our furniture. What was supposed to be a great experience of getting our first place has been a nightmare. SAVE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION.

I invite you,to please come in to the office, so that awe may discus this in person, or plese call me.
The staff at these apartments suck. The only thing they are worried about is updating the empty apartments. They apartments residents stay in, they don't come fix anything etc. My apartment is wasp infested there's a hive in the fire place, nothing has been done about it. But they always want their rent on time, but we can't get them to fix anything. I refuse to pay rent on time, when my needs have not been met. And I will not pay rent on time just so they can upgrade the front office and these empty apartments that know one lives in. The managers act like they are stuck up, treat you like your poor. I will never refer anyone to these apartments.
