Property Ratings at Ashford Cove
They won’t care how they give you the apartment when you move in as long as you move in really unprofessional, you want to move to a place where they care and don’t take your money this is not it !!! I was suppose to get my apartment on the 28th of August, manager calls me that they won’t have it until the 2nd I said it’s fine, when I get there to go get my keys everything in the moving truck they tell me it’s not ready!! They give me a 1 bedroom when I had rented a 3 bedroom, it takes them an extra week to have it ready and they tell me they won’t give me credit for the days I stayed in that 1 bedroom. This is the worst decision I have made.
Great place, great people, great amenities, great service
Where do I even start... I HATE IT HERE. I am running for the hills when our lease is up. It used to be so nice here but not anymore!!!! They care more about the front landscaping then the actually apartments. The stainless steel appliances... joke... wood flooring... haha joke. I will be completely transparent. These apartments were legit thrown together! Nothing quality about them. The floors peel up, and we have bugs. The pest control comes out once a week and it LITERALLY STOPS NOTHING. The pools were closed most of the summer last year due to them being green. I will be leaving poor reviews on every site I can find.
I would like to report an abusive treatment by the manager of Ashford Cove at Briar Forest Apartments, Jimmy . I have received a new bill with rent and late payment charges, because he and his assistance refused to give me an official document with the payment for To finish my rent, despite having requested that document many times, they alone wanted to offer it verbally. Prior to that, I was charged another bill under the month-to-month concept of 200 prorated dollars, where that sum does not appear in my contract. These people are taking advantage of tenants blatantly, disrespecting and showing a lack of professionalism. Please if you appreciate your money dont go there , becuase when you time to left comes they will tief your money without any reason.
This is what gonna happen when you want to start your lease. I came to the office and they told me the unit A1 is still available and tell me to do the application online. The Online Application said they have 3 the same units available. After I paid for the application then one of them called me to say that the unit still available and it takes 24 hours to process my application. And yes after 24 hours they called me said that my unit is not available till next 3 weeks even though they just said yesterday and the website still there. They said to me that I have to move to a different unit which is more expensive or waste my $50 nonrefundable application fee. Be careful with this place guys because I don't know how many people have the same situation as me and how much feel that they have been collected.
I lived in this condominium (La Mirage/Cove) for over seven years and I have never had any problems. I actually lived in four different units and I loved all of them. The only reason I had to move out was because I bought my new place. They have three good pools and the largest one pairs with pools from theme parks.....just awesome.....

Property Manager at Ashford Cove, Responded To This Review
Hello, thank you so much for your positive review! We are happy to hear of your experience here at The Cove!
Let me tell you some thing. I have lived here over 7 yrs and I will never move, I will die here! I love this complex and the benefits of staying here. I have been through the many changes the complex has been through, like most do. I follow the community rules and it is quiet and I have no problems. This new manager is great and even though I miss the old one, this one was her 2nd manager. The new faces in the office are welcoming. Listen, I love where my apartment is. Good place
If I could give no stars I would. This ownership has absolutely no hold on this community! First off we were promised new appliances and when we moved in the stove was probably in that apartment for 10 years. I asked for a replacement for about 5 months and never got one the entire year there. The apartments are not sealed properly so you have to keep the AC at 65 to stay semi cool which runs up the electric bill. Plus if you're on the bottom floor when it rains your apartment floods. In the year that I lived there a robbery and a mugging took place. They also have a bug problem and they do nothing about noise complaints. Oh and you cant set your trash bag outside your apartment over night or they will fine you. I am a 5'2 100lb woman and I am far too scared to walk to the dumpster at night (due to the mugging and me constantly getting harassed and the complex doing nothing to make it safer) so instead of wanted to make the complex safer so I could go to the dumpster at night they threatened to fine me even though I was taking it to the dumpster in the morning. Absolutely horrible place. Save yourself the trouble and find a better place in a safer part of town. Also there is literally no freaking parking and they let giant trucks park on the fire lane all night. (which is illegal)
I moved in back in September of 2015 and I absolutely love it!!! It is so quiet and they have remodeled the entire complex!!! The apartment managers are friendly and kind and maintenance is quick to fix anything and they also send out email updates as well! You will truly love it here..the only negative is parking...but you can pay for covered parking!
Although my fiancé and I have only been here for about 2 months, we have never been happier. When one goes to Apartments.com and type “The Cove”, immediately The Cove at Briar Forest - Houston, TX comes up – one click and the online information about this impressive property is so well presented. On our first visit here, we knew we were home. Assistant Manager was always professional and efficient in making our move a pleasant one. We toured our future apartment before the final renovations and were impressed with the work being done. Thanks Assistant Manager! We would highly recommend this wonder community to anyone who wants the serenity of a vacation-like environment. Show it off to family and friends, they would definitely want to come back soon - maybe as a future tenant . We are definitely looking forward to summer. We appreciate the friendly, management and staff, security, response to requests, communications, upgrades, improvements, social events, fitness center, lagoon-style pools and beautiful landscapes – Wow! What more could one ask for. After the hustle and bustle of the Houston traffic, it is a joy to come home to peace and quiet.
I have lived here since May 2006 and I can say without a doubt that the new management in the newly transformed "The Cove at Briar Forest" have done a remarkable make-over. The management and staff are very friendly, attentive and responsive to any requests and any maintenance is done promptly and efficiently. They are a pleasure to deal with and accommodating to special requests and services. The upgrades and improvements have been impressive running the range from new lighting and toilets to new windows in all the apartments and most recently, a complete re-pave of our parking lot...this was a herculean task handled and orchestrated very well given the expected temporary inconvenience such a project entailed. The management kept us fully informed. I have enjoyed living here. The newly outfitted exercise facilities are amazing and security and access to the campus generally has been updated and enhanced. I give the Cove high marks.
I have lived here for 1 year now, and many changes have been made by the new management. The community is well maintained and quiet. They have re-painted the entire apartment complex and changed the patio fences. Inside, they have put new windows and lighting fixtures. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to live here.
Great community to live in! Very quiet and private also have a beautiful pool and great new renovations I am very satisfied
The apartment management is really Bad and they are so harsh with the people and it's over priced
I lived in this apartment just over 3 years, It was nice earlier but since the time new management took over, Every thing is falling apart!!!!
