I lived here for about a year. Had an issue with roaches, a bit of mold on the wall, and air conditioning issues. I shared the place with 2 other people. You do get a spacey apartment but if you're ok with dealing with sporadic issues, it's value friendly for the most part. Doable for college students for sure.

Management is horrible and they do not care about residents or the property! Former neighbor moved out and not even a month later I noticed there were MICE in my apartment. I had lived in my apartment for over a year before this occurred! Maintenance told me I had to purchase on traps and took over a month or two to get actual pest control to view the apartment. They put traps down and returned weeks-month later and discovered the shared wall between apartments was the entry point! The MICE ate through the dry wall behind the oven. Management never reimbursed me for trap and I did not receive a DISCOUNT off of rent for an issue that wasn’t my problem. Was told “my dog could handle the problem” by front desk associate jokingly (issue was never taken seriously). DO NOT WASTE MONEY AND TIME HERE!

I’ve tried to contact these apartments multiple MULTIPLE times and they NEVER answer. Nobody calls me back or seems to care that someone wants to even lease. It’s ridiculous you have to run behind a company just to get some assistance. I wouldn’t recommend these apartments to absolutely anyone you guys are so pathetic.

At first I loved it here. After living here for 4 years it has come to my attention that things have changed as my priorities around here have changed. Having a toddler grow up here I must say, the dog poop on every step outside my front door has really changed my view of this place. And there is no street light on my street at night, so I guess safety isn’t that important. And the state of the playground is so bad I’ve stopped taking my child there. I even placed (and payed for) a sandbox as I had had enough of watching children dig in the dirt. But a summer ended with a broken sandbox and very little sand left inside. No one cares here!!! The pool has been a disappointment from the cleansiness part. Also Femail toilets at the clubhouse have been shut to residents instead to serve only staff to “keep them clean”, as I was explained. I stopped using the clubhouse completely over the years. I’ve just received a renewal proposal with additional Pest Control charge. (I do have cockroaches the size of my child hand here). Last renewal had additional charge for Garbage added (even though my garbage had gotten less messy As my kiddo no longer needed diapers). I wonder what else I can be charged for going forward? - playground maintenance perhaps or lawn moving?!?!? Just a thought! Overall, I love the location. The access to shops and greenway and hospital and train is perfect for me as I have no car.
Apartment was suppose to get renovated before i moved in, only for them to tell me it wouldnt after i paid my deposit. Started out with the fact that i couldnt get the keys on my move in day because they were fixing my carpet last second. Bad time management not to mention they had not even fixed some of the problems in the house before moving in. Ceiling looks like its had awful water damage in many the different rooms in the apartment. Not to mention that of you ask anything to the office staff, theyll tell you that they will call you back “when they find out” but they never get back to you. The only thing is nice is the view of the golf course. Also the people here love walking and being outside so at least you feel safe.
I moved into Ashford Green apartments 3 months ago. After doing some research and reading the reviews; I was hesitant about the property. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the apartment itself, the staff (specifically the property manager), and the convenience of the location. The staff was open and honest about past resident concerns. I understand that no business nor person for that matter is perfect, but what I do expect is that business and their employees are accountable. Being accountable means assuming ownership and taking action that results in change...which is what the current staff and management team have done. They are committed to the residents and ensuring that the experience at this property is a positive one.
Location is close to everything (walking distance) here is my short list :)!: - UNCC - LightRail - Food Lion - Restaurants - BARs - Starbucks - Chipotle - Pizza Delivery - Nail Salons - Ross/TJ Maxx (and a host of others) - Interstate-85/485 - Cookout Awesome Golf course adjacent to the property! Friendly and professional staff and nice apartments! Oh and the person complaining about the $25 for trash pick up....well let's say not everyone understands the requirement to take your trash to the trash compactor!!! People leave trash on their cars (eww), in the breezeways (great for small animals to feed from)! So having a service basically doing this for you is priceless IMO and well worth the $25 per month!!!!!!
I toured this community and the lady who toured me Ms Brown was phenomenal. Amazing personality. Spirit was so uplifting. I enjoyed my visit!!!!!!

I could not believe the previous reviews truly not what I received. Recently relocated due to the storm. The front office staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. No responses to service requests or any questions unless it was something the leasing office staff needed. The trash collection service forcing residents to pay monthly fee is a joke. It is not about service at all. It is all about taking more money for residents who cannot get out of the lease contract. They collected waste at their most convenient times. My last day there was a very good day for me.
The office staff is incompetent and unwilling to help. It is very frustrating to repeatedly ask them to complete maintenance issues for months on end, and nothing is done. We had a leaky toilet, pretty serious issue, for 3 months before anything was done. I went to the office twice a week trying to get them to come fix the toilet. The only reason that it was fixed, was because I saw the maintenance man, and asked him to come take a look. The maintenance man hadn't been notified by the office that this issue was even occuring and was astonished that the apartment complex hadn't notified him. Also, for the past 4 months I've been asking for a garage. I've been in the office at least 10 times, I left my phone number and name every time. I still haven't received a phone call about a garage been available or not. The ONLY positive to this complex is location.
Most unorganized & unprofessional places I've ever stayed but Maintenance team is great. Expect unexplained charges every few months with little to no notification. When asking for answers you will be given none, but asked to pay or they will file for eviction..
I have lived at Ashford Green for over a year and love my apartment. Other than a few leaky windows, I have had very few problems with the apartment itself. The maintenance people respond very quickly and are always nice. The front office staff, on the other hand, are not only rude but extremely incompetent as well. They have no idea what their policies are and they change them without notice. They threatened to evict my roommates and myself the first month we lived here because of a clerical error on their end regarding our payment. I have tried to contact the managing company multiple times to complain and left multiple messages but no one has ever picked up or returned my calls. The ladies upfront are also very rude and do not want to help in any way. I can't recommend Ashford Green, is not a bad place to live as long as you don't have to interact with the front desk people. My suggestion would be to look at the other properties around the area, there are quite a few options in the area where you may find a more competent staff.
This was the worst apartment I've ever lived in. Cockroaches, no A/C (starting with 25 or of the 30 days in the first month I lived there), and so many pipes bursting. I came home to a flooded apartment so many times. It is ridiculous that these buildings even pass inspection to allow people to live here. DO NOT MOVE IN TO THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX.
The location of this apartment complex couldn't be better for a student. It is close to many appealing places. There are couple bars, a cookout, food lion and much more close by that is easily a "walkable" distance. As far as the apartment itself. The apartment I live in is a pretty good size, although rather expensive. There was hardly any cabinet space so I had to build shelves to accommodate for my plates and glasses. The only bad part about living in this apartment complex is that the people in the main office seem to be incompetent or just completely unwilling to admit when they are wrong. They have made numerous errors with the ledger. They have messed up my account twice and charged me late fees but after me bugging them about it for two months, they finally fixed the issue. My friend who also lived here had the same issue. What is really funny about it is, the lady who helped me said, "sorry I'm new, and I don't know the system." This was a lie because she is the one who my friend talked to 6 months prior, unless she considers 6 months to be a "new" employee. Also if you place a request for maintenance, do not expect a timely response. Although the maintenance guys are awesome and they complete the work perfectly, for some reason the main office doesn't communicate to them and it takes weeks for anything to get done. I think the main office just completely forgets as soon as you get off the phone with them or leave their office. Basic fact is, if you are looking for an apartment for the amenities and the friendly, helpful staff, this is not the apartment for you. However if you don't care and want a good location, this is the spot.
I lived here for two years and in the beginning everything was good. Then they changed management. When the new management company came on, they decided that it was okay to charge it's residents an extra $25 for trash pickup without asking if this is something they opted in to do. DISGUSTING! They NEVER answer calls. They never return calls either! They are exceptionally rude and unprofessional! Upon moving out, I was told that after 30 days I will receive my deposit. I received the invoice, but the check has gone missing! I have yet to receive it and it is passed 30 days! If your are a day late with rent, you have to pay a penalty. So how is it fair to hold up on money that belong to someone else! Please, if you want to avoid any headache or stress, do not live here! They only care about your many and NOT you! If I could give 0 rating I would!
COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT in every way. Your better off going to a homeless shelter
The townhouse is a great option for 3 people. I love the fireplace and garage! We were disappointed in the amount of bugs in the unit, and with the musty smell from old carpet, but the staff is super friendly and willing to help with any issues.
