Property Ratings at Ashmore
I recently completed one year in these apartments and there aren't really any negative things I have to say about the complex. Management is usually helpful and responsive. It is a pretty quiet area and I've never struggled finding parking. I've noticed cops patrol the complex late at night which gives you a sense of security. They send out emails about water being shut off for maintenance sort of often but it has never been for my area of the apts so I personally haven't struggled with that. The one reason I didn't give this review 5 stars is due to the gates. Seems like the gates are either crashed into often or the gate code changes or the remote doesn't work so I have found myself complaining about that more than a couple times but as far as the apts they are nice and cozy and its a good complex to live in.

I recently renewed my lease for another year because I enjoy living here. I've never had any serious issue that would make me not want to live here... and the girls in the leasing office have always been very professional. I would recommend Ashmore apartments to anyone looking for an apartment.

My time here has been good. The upgraded apartments are very nice. Its a quiet apartment complex. Everybody minds to themselves. A couple issues with the gate here and there but they work quickly to fix them. I never had any issues with my apartment. A little expensive... But they're okay.

Me & my roommate had recently moved in and we are absolutely pleased with the apartment, great place to live in, not only do they have nice and respectful people in the front office they have great people staying here as well! very friendly and respectful environment all around. This apartment complex has been a living nightmare for me. At first everything seemed good. The apartments are nice and mostly clean. Maintenance is decent. I haven’t had many issues with pests, but they do offer weekly pest control. That’s where the positives end. Management does not care about you one bit. I was moved into an apartment right across from a pool and also one of our parks. I was not told that the noise would be extremely high here, and maybe it’s my fault for not asking. Still, I feel as a paying tenant I have a right to at least some semblance of a peaceful and quiet living. I do not have that here. The pool goers have absolutely ZERO respect for those around them. They run the pool like it’s their own house and they can do whatever they want. They are constantly in the pool making heaps of noise, and do not abide by the “out by 10:00 pm” rule EVER. At times they have been in the pool past midnight. It often sounds like a frat party out there. Beer, loud music, and even cheering and clapping with laughing that would give hyenas a run for their money. I’ve spoke with management several times about my issue. They tried to ease my mind while in the office and then did nothing once I left. After several attempts at finding a solution I even asked to be relocated to a different unit. Their response? Sure, we will move you. For a $250 fee plus a $99 re-application fee. Not to mention having to be in this horrible place for another year. I don’t feel it’s right that I was moved into this apartment without warning of what to expect and then am forced to pay a fee and re-apply again just to escape the noise. And let me add - I have done everything in MY power to rectify the situation. I have foam insulation that I put in my window seal. I wear ear plugs at night. Nothing has worked. When a tenant has done everything they can, shouldn’t management step in? I am not the type to write reviews, which begs the question why am I? Well I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that some of it is out of pure frustration and anger for this place and how little they care about their tenants. But I am also doing it to warn others. If you’re the type that can sleep through anything then you’ll be fine here. If not, DO NOT allow them to move you in near one of their several pools or parks. I won’t tell you not to rent here, but rent here knowing that you’re just a number to them. Someone paying rent. Nothing more.

We lived at this apartment complex for 2 years. Not only did they raise the rent a considerable amount when we renewed for the 2nd year, none of the work orders were ever properly completed. The gates never worked. I had to circle the block sometimes to find a working gate to be able to get home. The office staff rarely answered the phone. When we went to speak with them in person about a few issues. The manager just walked up with no introduction, and started yelling at me about what she thought I was discussing with the other lady. She was completely off topic and nothing was resolved that day. I just ended up walking out and luckily our lease was almost up for that 2nd year so we left.
I absolutely love my apartment! My family and I just moved in a few weeks ago and it has been such a smooth experience. The management and office staff are very kind and helpful. I can tell they actually care about their residents and want them to be happy. The amenities are clean and up to date. The maintenance staff is even extremely friendly and helpful. The pools are actually clean. The Ashmore also has events several times a month for the residents to connect with one another. I would recommend this apartment community to everyone.
Cheap paint and stained wood can't cover how far downhill this place has gone since Venterra sold it. I don't know if this is Knightvest's first foray into owning/managing an apartment complex, but it sure seems that way. The paint job they did on the entire apartment complex was so cheap that there are still splotches of old paint from the painters missing spots on almost every building. The cement work they had done was an even bigger joke, as it only took one day for the "new" speed bump they placed in front of the exit gate to crumble (quite literally) to dust. The interior upgrades are cheap as well. They advertise real granite countertops, but every apartment I've been inside since their renovations have had easily distinguishable faux granite. The apartments are also much less secure than they were when Venterra ran the place. The Ashmore staff regularly leaves what is supposed to be a members-only entrance gate open for 24 hours a day 7 days a week, meaning than anybody can get into the complex at any hour of the night. The parking is worse than it was before due to Knightvest electing to erect carports(which are also of extremely cheap construction) and charge a ridiculous $30 a month to park underneath them. This took the parking situation, which was already TERRIBLE, to an entirely new level. Next, let's talk general staff incompetence. Shortly before construction began on Ashmore's shiny new leasing office, they decided that they were going to change the (perfectly fine) gate system and require new cards/clickers. We were told that they were waiting to move back into the leasing office to be able to program the new clickers that would be given to every resident for use. It took several months for that construction to be completed, and upon asking about the clickers once the leasing agents were snug in their new offices, we were told they hadn't even ordered them yet! Four months of construction and nobody even thinks to order the remotes? And this is supposed to be a professional company? The only thing about this place that hasn't gone completely downhill since being sold by Venterra is the maintenance department. This is a below average apartment complex attempting to masquerade as a luxury apartment complex with a cheap coat of paint and fake granite countertops. Do not be fooled. Come back Venterra Realty, we miss you and Sandstone Apartments desperately.

We provide different options to our prospects and residents and some renovated homes have resurfaced countertops and others have the granite option. I am sorry to hear about the situation with the remotes and the speed bump, however we do have remotes available and all of our speed bumps are fully functioning at this time. This pace is full of roaches. The management doesn't much bother with roaches being an issue. I see them while cooking, cleaning, showering, pretty much whenever. Regardless of treatment which I pay for, and regular cleaning, and over cleaning, and purchasing more supplies and traps and sprays, still roaches. In it alone and paying way too much to have this problem.

We have lived in this complex for about eight years now, and out current apartment for about 6. Everything is pretty typical it's not loud, no secruity issues from us. Our issues is the roaches. Over the past year we have complained about out neighbors under is causing roaches. How do we know it's them...well we haven't had roaches until they moved in. Now we see them all the time in the shower...when we cook...our rooms etc. They should have evicted them in my opinion. One person up front even told me some stuff to get to get rid of the roaches. Seriously!? They have done little to nothing with this issue because it is steadily getting worse we will not be renewing our lease.
Dont recommend! Have been living here for six months and its always something wrong. My shower has been leaking since we moved in and i have called and complain but still haven't came the shower is all orange/yellow already. They're not on top of stuff. Yea they're pretty but you can find something better
Let start here I have lived here for more than 9 years . So with that in mine I'm old just like this property is but still standing tall . So I'm reading all these reviews . Let's get some things straight .1st the office and maintenance is always helpful and willing to help in anyway they can .2nd the hot water let me remind you again this property is old so yes somethings go out just like anything in this world . Parts go out not everything is perfect. But they are on it fixing it might not be ready in seconds but it gets done and no it's not days or weeks like others say ! 3rd the AC problem what AC problem it's always fixed the second it goes we have someone come take a look at . But seriously if it cool out why are you complaining the AC is not working . Finally I love it here and wouldn't change it so give the new management a chance stop comparing them to the old company they are trying to fix all the issues the old company left and make the community a better place for you !
I dont have anything bad to say about this place. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. I did have a small issue with roaches but I had my apartment exterminated and this hasn't been an issue since. I also haven't had an issue thus fair with my water.
We've lived here over a month now and still no gate keys... keep in mind we live on the far side where it's gated is key pass only.. no code. So we have to drive 5 mins through the whole complex to get home. The parking is atrocious. No spaces and have to park two buildings down. Hot water barely works, it's either scolding or freezing. No in between. (Allocated water heaters). No appreciation for privacy, will just let themselves in without consent. Office staff is rude and unhelpful. They do not know if what they're talking about or doing. They can not answer any questions you may have and when they do answer it's normally (I'm not sure).... seriously? We've only been here about two months and are already looking for new places. IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

I have been ok with this apartment. Not much to complain about only they take a while with maintenance. Its pricey though for a one bedroom.
Considering the price they are fairly nice. Two complaints I have is 1. every single time I have called the front office they NEVER answer, and 2. there is a minor roach issue. I was able to get rid of them but then the people under me moved out and I'm guessing when they cleaned the apartment the roaches came back to mine.
I've lived here for a year now and I just renewed my lease. The apartment is not perfect but it is affordable and a pretty quiet place to live. I've had no problems with security issues or anything like that. Mantinance is pretty quick to get problems token care of. The complex was just bought out by a new company that is making major improvements to the units including granite countertops, stainless appliances and wood floors. If you're looking for a luxury apartment this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a decent place that is affordable, I you should look into it.
My fiance and I moved into this apartment about 6 months ago. In the first 2 months we lived here the hot water went out 9 times. In the first 6 months the ac went out 6 times. The "secure" gates get left open for days on end. The pools are constantly down for "maintenance". When we bring up these issues to the office and maintenance personnel they basically tell us we are out of luck. They are always friendly but they won't really do anything for us. Today we discovered our apartment now has fleas. We do not own an animal and neither do any of our neighbors. When we talked to the office they said they could fix it but we would have to pay for it out of our own pocket. So no we have not been happy with our apartment.
The office staff is great, even with new owners. We are about 20 minutes from anywhere we want to go, 5 minutes from food and shopping, yet far enough away for the neighborhood to be pretty quiet (if you don't count the annoying upstairs neighbors).
