Property Ratings at Ashton Apartments
I rented at this location for 4 years and was very pleased with the location, size and price point. It was a great fit while attending Rose Hulman.
It is very safe. Good lighting in parking lots and entrances to apartments. Rose Hulman security also patrols area. Quiet no large college parties. Plenty of parking areas. Furnished apartment had everything needed. Dishes, pots and pans, utensils, cooking utensils, cutting board, kitchen towels, pot holders, etc. Furniture in excellent shape, decor to make it feel homey. Heater & air conditioner work well. Combination washer/dryer in good working order. Has dishwasher, I did not use. Walking areas within 1/8 mile of apartment. More like country living than city living. Enjoyed my stay!
Great and quite place for young professionals or college students. Affordable and clean.
The location is perfect and the layout works great for providing both private and common area study spaces. There were a few occasions of the internet going down, but in the end most of those issues came from my use of an old ethernet cord, not the service itself. The only electricity available is from Duke Energy, which is not always the best. Power outages would happen sometimes. But, overall, it worked well enough to get by. Also, the landlords is quick on the ball to address any maintenance requests. For small issues they were usually resolved in a day or two, for larger repairs it never took longer than a week and they were always friendly. Overall, this was a great rental experience.
This was a really nice place to stay while I was studying at Rose. The apartment was nice and was spacious enough for my roommate and I. You can easily get to Rose campus in less than 5 minutes from Ashton. The only problem we had while we were there was the internet. During the last 6 months of our stay, it became pretty terrible (it was fine for the rest of our time). I'm not sure if it was just our unit, but people were called to fix it multiple times and it never got better. Definitely something to check before moving in.
This was my home-away-from-home for 3 of my college years. I stayed in the 1 bed x 1 1/2 bath loft-style, and I was in the slightly newer apartment. The apartment was very clean when we moved in. When our microwave broke, it was inspected the same day, and we had a new one installed that week. There was always enough parking, there was never any barking, and the pay-online system was easy. The most difficult part (as with any loft, I suppose) is adjusting the temperature for when you are up or down stairs. I personally walk-bike commuted to Rose. The road on Hunt does NOT have any sidewalks, so if you are considering this commute, commit to bike/helmet lights for safety, although the road portion is only 1/8 mile. Then, you reach the Heritage trail, which is great (but also dark)
I lived here for two years while studying in Terre Haute. I had a 1 bedroom loft style unit and I loved it. The apartment was spacious and (in my opinion) in a great location. If you’re the outdoorsy type, these apartments are great for you. They’re right next to the Heritage bike trail and Hawthorne park, both of which provide a lot of opportunity to be outside and active. Communication with Natalie was excellent. She always responded to me within a day and was always able to help with any issues that I had. Perhaps it’s because this is a relatively small complex, but there is a real personal feel that I felt as a tenant. In terms of complaints, my only real one is that the walls are a little thin. If you have loud neighbors, you may be able to hear a bit of noise from their side of the wall. This wasn’t a huge issue to me though and even with the complaint, I would have continued to rent here if I stayed in Terre Haute. Overall, this was a great place to live. The unit was nice and Natalie was even nicer! Would recommend.
I lived in one of Ashton Development's loft apartments for four years, and would have stayed longer if I had not relocated for work. Tucked away on a hill overlooking Hawthorne Park, this apartment complex is easily accessible, quiet, and very close to walking trails. Aside from location, the apartment amenities that were offered were always clean, available, and when applicable, in good working condition. There are laundry facilities on-site, though you are able to rent washers/dryers monthly and the price is added to your rent. Very convenient! In addition to laundry, the internet and cable were always up and running, and were included in the price of rent. On the rare occasion that I ever needed maintenance, the owner, Natalie, would always respond quickly, no matter the time of day. I would absolutely recommend living here. I miss my spacious loft apartment, deck, and washer and dryer!
Ashton Development was exactly my title. It was quiet and low key. The location was great if you want to be a little out of the way but not too far from the action of Indiana State and Terre Haute. We lived in the one bedroom loft and really enjoyed the view of the lake and wild life from our deck. In the spring, we got to see deer often in the woods behind the property as well as keep a hummingbird feeder on the deck. We hardly ever heard any of our neighbors. The apartment itself has little storage but the big open concept living area makes it nice to enjoy the space. The Heritage Trail is close and we often used it for riding bikes or getting a run in. Highly recommend for someone living simply and not needing a lot of traditional amenities. Natalie is also very easy to work with and answers emails very quickly if there is anything you need.
My husband and I lived in this complex for four years! The location, price, and amenities are wonderful. All utilities but electric are included in the rent price. Any issues that ever came up the owner was on it in a snap, just email her and she takes care of it right away. One the best things about living there was in the fall when the leaves would change color and the fact it is situated across the street from a park made it even more desirable. The east side location off the beaten path is a perk as well. It does not have all the frivolous stuff like a pool or a work out room which I liked. Parking was always easy, in fact while we l lived there more spaces were added! The owner has excellent taste and does not keep the walls a stark white. Try this place out you will not regret it.
I stayed in a 2 BR 2 Bath for 2 years in 2014-2016. The apartment was excellent and the nicest place I've ever stayed. The management was always very kind and considerate and there were no complaints with the apartment. I had to relocate after graduation from I.S.U., otherwise, I would have renewed my lease because of my comfortability with the apartment and the beautiful location. I had tried other apartments in Terre Haute, previous to my stay at Ashton Development, but they cannot compare in price, views, comfort, and management. Generally I do not like to submit reviews, but as aforementioned, I owe it to the property owners and staff to reflect my feelings towards their complex.
My significant other and I have lived in the apartment for several years now - we absolutely love it! The location is ideal for people who want a quiet, country setting outside the city. The staff is quick to respond to any questions and concerns. The apartments themselves are clean and well-maintained. The price is one of the best in the area - especially for what is included! If you are looking for a nice place to live, Ashton Development is the place to go! :)
This is a great apartment complex to live in! Not only is the location ideal (not a lot of traffic, close to a park & walking trail, and not too far from town), the building itself is great! The apartment layout is nice and offers a "homey" feel and maintenance is efficient and easy to access. The apartment manager is always willing to discuss your situation and offers great advice when needed. The amenities included surpass most of the other buildings I assessed when looking for an apartment & the rent fee is reasonable compared to what I receive. I would highly recommend at least taking a look at this apartment complex when searching!
My significant other and I have lived in the apartment for 3 years and absolutely love it. It includes cable, internet, water, sewage, and garage, so the only bill you have to pay is electric. The apartments were new when we moved in, so everything is up to date. Maintenance has been great and we haven't hadn't any issues. We moved out there because we didn't want loud and nosy college students and it's worked well. It appears to be mostly rose hulman students and those working, so apart from around rose homecoming (and even then it wasn't bad) you aren't disturbed by nosy neighbors. You can also rent a washer dryer set from them, which I appreciated so I could do my laundry in my own home and didn't have to purchase a set that I might not want in the future since they are stackable. Overall, it is awesome and we've loved our time there. Would definitely recommend. The only downside is they don't allow pets, which wasn't an issue for us, but may be an issue for others.
This is the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. My husband and I have lived in 5 different apartments because we've moved around a lot and this is the best one! The complex is always clean and quiet. The amenities included with the complex make it a much higher value than the rent charged. The landlady is very kind and has always helped us in any way we need. The apartments are very nice, great appliances, lots of space. If something goes wrong in your apartment maintenance is very quick to fix it. I would highly recommend this apartment complex!
