We moved in august of 2022. First off, don’t be fooled by the pictures. The majority of the apartments don’t look like that and haven’t been updated. Second, management changed while we were living there and the new people don’t seem to know what they’re doing at all. My mom’s car got towed after we were told it wouldn’t be. We ended up breaking the lease. There were dead bugs when we moved in, our sink had a leak, our toilet leaked, the dishwasher would fall over when we used it, we had a broken drawer in the kitchen that they “fixed”, and much more. The only good thing was that maintenance responded quickly. Overall our experience was awful and I wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone. I only gave two stars because maintenance was quick to come and fix things.

I went in person to look for an apartment and Olympia showed me the property. We talked about available units, prices, and locations. Afterwards, I told her I wanted to apply for a specific unit. She walked me through the process on their website but during the online process, she says, “just pick any of the available apartments and I’ll change it on our end to the apartment you want” (because the website was acting finicky during the application process). So she literally does that part on the computer for me and I finish with the rest of entering my info and paying $200. ($50 app fee and $150 admin fee). This was all on a Thursday and I’m told it should only take a couple hours to for a response. So Monday rolls around and I get a call from Olympia saying that the specific unit I wanted was no longer available and she can’t change it on her end BUT the apartment I applied for (but did NOT want) was and proceeds to give me the details on price and availability. I asked her to email me the info and I’ll get back to her as I was dealing with something else at the time. So we get in touch later that afternoon and I tell her I don’t want the apartment that was arbitrarily selected for the application and I’d like my money back (at least the $150) because I ONLY wanted a specific floor plan, price, location, and that was no longer available for my time frame. Even though I was told it was at the time of applying. She tells me there is nothing she can do but give me her regional managers email. So I’ve emailed the regional manager and received an auto reply that she’s on vacation and I’ll receive a response as time permits. I don’t like the way this situation is being handled so far and I highly recommend NOT doing business with this property.
I've been at Ashton oaks for 5 years, and I'll continue to renew my lease with Jet. She has been the best thing about Ashton Oaks! She knows every resident by name and does everything she can to help! She is the heart of this great community.
I wrote a good review when I first moved in, and my feelings still stand. The office and maintenance team do an excellent job staying on top of things, and are always happy to help. They never make you feel like they don't have time for you, or that your requests are ridiculous. The apartments aren't "luxury" like so many being built in the area nowadays, but have way less issues than I have experience in newer, "luxury" residences. I love that the community is established, with beautiful huge trees everywhere. And I love the fact that the pool is covered and the jacuzzi tub is accessible year long because of this. thank you all for everything you do!

Definitely not worth the price that's being charged. They pick and choose which maintenance requests they honor. We haven't had ac since last summer and I don't need to mention we live in Texas. My kids and I have been boiling in this tiny apt but the manager and maintence break their necks to come banging on my apt door whenever the downstairs apt folks complain. Over it. We found a nice 3 bedroom house in Princeton for the exact same price we're paying here

I have lived at Ashton Oaks for the last 8 years, I have seen many managers come and go. But the current staff seems to have it all together. The grounds have improved since the new manager came on, and the upgrades in the office are really nice. Sam is really a good worker!
They have the friendliest staff I’ve experienced, when you have a question or problem they answer fairly quickly. Wonderful and well kept outside area, for kids and pets. I would definitely recommend anyone that was looking for an apartment. It’s also a perfect location in McKinney, you’re not that far from just about anything.

I have lived here for the past 6 months, and I couldn't be happier. It is NOT noisy, the community is welcoming and nice, the maintenance staff is quick and efficient, and the front staff is INCREDIBLE!!! I have never had an issue here that wasn't solved within the day. Sam is by far the best maintenance tech I have seen. He is extremely reliable and trust worthy. Other than my apartment layout, my favorite part is the indoor swimming pool & hot tub. I have been living in apartments for over 10 years, and this one is by far the most outstanding. I absolutely love living here, and I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone and everyone.

I have lived at Ashton Oaks for about a year now! I love it more now than ever before. They have hired a great new Property Manager and an amazing Maintenance lead. Before, work orders would get done but not correctly or in a timely matter, unless you asked for Sam. Now everything is done the same day, if not the next and is done correctly. Larry explains to you why the certain item broke and what he did to fix it, which I think is very helpful. He also, takes time out of his day to check on you a few days later to make sure everything is still working in tip top shape. The new Manager makes sure that the rules are followed and treats everyone with respect. The grounds, dumpsters, and dog parks are now kept clean! This property has really improved over the last few months!

I have been living here for 6 months and I love it! The courtyard is very beautiful and always is well maintained. The new management team is super friendly and helpful with everything! I love calling this place home and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for newly remodeled, affordable apartments! The location is really good and close to a huge shopping center and grocery shops. Plus the schools are close by for the kids.

They don't car about you or your property..14 visitor spaces and they are allowing DFW tow to take pictures of your car and two it at any time. Then they say don't contact them..yet they are giving DFW tow permission to enter and tow your car....Find a better place to live...don't waste your time...they are old...you hear everything inside and out...oh and they only have 14 parking spaces because an RV has been parked for 3 weeks....someone said manager has company...it hasn't been towed yet....go figure

The people in the office are very nice and the other tenants are friendly, but there is a pretty bad roach problem. They have tried to spray and I have put out traps and everything but they still come. Otherwise its a pretty good place to live.
Ashton Oaks has one of the friendliest management staff I have ever experienced as a renter! Anytime I have had a question or a need, they are very prompt and take care of it that day. I don't know how many other renters can say the same about their landlords or maintenance staff where they currently reside. One of the biggest perks I love about my apartment is that it is quiet even though is right off of 380 and down the street from 75. I don't have to sacrifice being near the action to get some peace from busy daily life. There is plenty of shopping as well as places to eat, but if you are wanting to venture out, it is not far from The Square in Downtown McKinney. They have an indoor pool and spa so that you can take a dip all year round as well two dog parks for our furry friends! The only thing I wish they would expand is their gym or at least get some more equipment for it.
It feels like i have lived in this apartmentcomplex for a lifetime, the current owners have remodeled, renewed the entire landscape area's, they have added a playground and an outdoor kitchen area that is fabulous, i have never had any problems with maintenance and i would and have recommended this apartment complex to friends. It a great place to live!
