Its a great place to live. It's kept clean. They do everything to make sure things are great.
These apartments are very affordable, but some upgrades would be beneficial
Ashton Apartments is an OKAY place to live. The amount the charge for rent is one of the best you will find in the area. However, since we've been living here going on two years, we've had extreme trouble finding parking at any time of day. The neighbors aren't exactly the ones we would choose if we could. Every other night (morning-3am usually), the cops have been called over some domestic dispute. The grass is usually overgrown. The units themselves are outdated. We've had several problems with mold. We are currently in the process of moving out and I'm constantly finding mold growing on things that have been in closets since we moved in. The caulk in the showers is constantly rotting off because of mildew. When we call maintenance, they just re-caulk over it. We've had a lot of problems trying to get maintenance to come out for anything other than a broken A/C or heat, which happens often because their systems are so old. Aside from all of that, the space is actually nice for people starting out. There is plenty of storage. The bedrooms are pretty well sized. The huge pantry makes up for the galley sized kitchen. The bathrooms are a little disappointing, the master baths don't have much space. The living and dining rooms get very nice lighting. I'd recommend Ashton to small families and couples in the Richmond Hill, but only if they are on a tight budget and can't afford much else unless they want to venture into the Savannah area.
