I am so in love with this community! My family and I have lived here for many years. Mainly because of the locations and the updates that were made. We searched many places and didn't feel like we were settling when we chose to live here. We enjoy spending time outdoors so the nature trail is always a hit. We enjoy attending the monthly events offered--you can't beat free, well thought out entertainment! I haven't had much interaction with maintenance but I guess that could be a good thing. There is only 1 area I would have liked to see improvement in and it's actually getting done now (our hallways are being painted)!

looked into several apartment complexes in the pelham road / sugar creek area, this is DEFINITELY the most desirable - it’s gated, has two pools, a volleyball court, a walking trail, is incredibly well maintained, nicely landscaped, has been there long enough that the trees have grown in so it’s more like living in an established neighborhood than an apartment complex (very unusual, most of the developments here are new and freshly scraped, this feels much nicer), and best of all the people running it are INCREDIBLY nice and responsive, warm and genuinely helpful - many of them even live on site so they definitely have a stake in things being kept up. my sister rented an apartment here two months ago and we have absolutely NO regrets, 10/10 would absolutely choose to rent here again, there’s just no comparison for apartments in this area
My girlfriend and I love living here . It’s our first apartment for the both of us , and I can say Ashton woods is an amazing place to live ! The staff helped us threw out the process and keeping in touch with us. Great community , great pool , great people , great everything !! Staff stays active with the community . We are very young and still don’t regret moving here ! Every penny is well worth here !
This place is disgusting. Roaches everywhere and apartments used as halfway houses. Nope over to somewhere else.
The property is beautiful, and the atmosphere is inviting. The staff have amazing customer service, and are very supportive and willing to work with you. The staff also try to bring the community together by hosting different events from time to time. In addition, they are responsive to community concerns.
Everyone including Hayley has gone above and beyond to help me. I would recommend this place to anyone.Great location and great ppl and awesome vibe when you are here. Can't give enough credit to the staff here.
We moved into this complex in late June, and love it. The office staff are friendly, caring and courteous, and maintainence is pleasant and quick. The grounds are well maintained, and it is truly a pet friendly community. There are 2 pools, a nature trail, a workout room and even a gym membership. Location? Can't beat it. Convenient to most any shopping, and many different cuisines, as well as I85, 385, and Woodruff Rd.
My girlfriend and I have lived here almost a year and we love it! We are not the "city" type so this location is perfect for us. The property is tucked away from the main roads, so you don't hear the busyness of traffic, but it is convenient to everything in the GSP area. They have beautiful landscaping with lots of trees, flowers, yards, picnic areas with grills, and a nature trail! We love how its not just buildings and concrete like other places we looked at and we never hear our surrounding neighbors. The office staff are always happy to help with anything and the maintenance staff are quick and reliable. They host fun events every month and have awesome amenities (WHICH INCLUDES A FREE GYM MEMBERSHIP TO POWERHOUSE GYM)! We will definitely be here a while!
I have lived here for 11 months and am so happy to finally be getting out of this wretched place and into a house! I have never been to a place where the management was so incompetent, rude, hateful, and lazy. The manager of the office, Rachel, is constantly losing her mind and trying to enforce absolutely ridiculous rules in the place, such as actually trying to get every pet owner in the complex to get their pets DNA so that if they find poop anywhere on the grounds, they can test it and charge people. She will actually have it out for you try and stand up for yourself here. It's almost funny how immature her and some of the office staff really are. They have a maintenance/construction team/company called "Moon McManus" that is here every single day working on units and one worker actually got fired for slowly stalking a walking resident in the parking lot. This group of heathens literally cuss, drink, and smoke pot at the grounds while they are working and even after talking to RACHEL in the office, they defend these horrible people. So, if you have kids, DO NOT lease here. Your kids will have to hear constant cussing and vulgar language. It is a gated community but that actually means nothing because 90% of my 11 months here at least one of the gates is always broken so anybody can always get in anyway. The neighbors are always loud and rude. The maintenance team doesn't consider a pet locked in the bedroom an emergency so you either have to pay $75 to get an emergency locksmith or try and break in yourself to get your pet. We have just had so many things one after another that it is clear they only care about money and NOT the residents. The only good thing to possibly say about this egregious place is it has a good location on Pelham road. And a lot of the good reviews, especially on Google reviews, are actually by the employees as sad as that is. Do yourself a huge favor and rent ANYWHERE else! Don't make the same mistake as I did!
The leasing staff is horrible. They appear friendly at first, but as soon as you provide them feedback about their service and your experience their true colors come out. For the past almost 3 years their staff have proven to be unfriendly, lazy, dishonest, rude, and without knowledge. Their hand-written package system is not accurate nor up to date so there's always an excuse as to why your package is not in the office when it should be. I see why the leasing staff act the way they do because the manager is no better than they are. The maintenance team never accurately fix things the first time, it takes them 2 or 3 times over 2 or 3 different people before it's fixed correctly. Save yourself a hassle and look else where.
These apartments are easy to get into and the staff is super nice and accommodating- FOR A REASON. The rent is overpriced compared to nearby comparable apartments. Also, they "fee" and "penalty" charge you to death. I moved from NYC, where I paid ridiculously high rent. Month after month, here at ashton woods, when "fees" are added that are not even specified in my lease, I end up paying the same or more as I paid in NYC. At least in NYC I knew what I was paying every month. It is so bad that I am getting an attorney this week, even that is cheaper than paying all of their hidden fees. STAY AWAY...there are plenty of apartments close by that are nicer (ashton woods is a 30 year old community) and cheaper. Don't let the gated community part suck you in, half the time the gates are broken.
Apartments are described as "classic" which in my opinion just means old. They will give you prices and then change them in a flash. If you call and expect a return call from the management company, find a comfy seat cause the call won't be returned. Talked to someone in late November, told I'd get a return call the next day regarding my issue. I'm still waiting. I made the mistake of putting trust in this community and glad that I only lost a few hundred dollars.
Ashton woods apartments is a great place to stay. Included: two pools, gym, entertainment building, wash room (units also included in apartment if wanted), tennis court, basketball court, & a playground. It's a quiet respectful community. I live in a one bedroom & currently paying $708 with utilities not included.
My wife and I moved in about a year ago, and we just renewed for another year. We are living in the large 3BD/2BA, 1350 SqFt, Extended Oak. The main thing I'd say is that the management is awesome. When we moved in, we specifically asked for an apartment that had not been upgraded because we wanted to save some money. They worked with us and our needs and got us a very affordable place. In the last year, we have had a few maintenance issues, but they have typically been handled very quickly. The only time I've been a little disappointed was earlier this summer when the AC broke in our unit. They had a couple other people ahead of us and didn't get our place fixed for 4 days. Our unit was too hot for us to keep our son here, so we had to send him away to stay with Grandma, and eventually we ended up getting a hotel. Once it was fixed, everything was fine. This issue is the only reason that I couldn't rate the place 5 stars. The management is so good, and the actual apartment is really great. The location is also great. My wife goes to college in Spartanburg and I go to college in Greer. It is so easy to access I-85 that it has opened up a lot of possibilities. All around, this place has been far better than we expected. Not only would I recommend this place to others...I HAVE!!! This place is well worth the consideration!
