Property Ratings at Aspen Court Apartments
9/19/2019 For a so-called luxurious apartment and the amount of money you will pay to be here you could find yourself a nice house that even paying realtor fees would be worth it. For one, this apartments washer and dryer machines are the cheapest you will ever find they have one speed fast and faster and no difference in temperature of the water or the dryer for all cycles. The stainless steel refrigerator is very small. The air conditioning will cool too much some rooms and not the others the heater will function the same way. The gate to strangers at the front of the complex never works so many strangers could come and go however they please. Forget about having packages dropped off in front of your apartment door (they will be stolen) by ??? , cause anyone could enter these buildings without a key or a security code. The neighbors from the complex next door come through our development and the fence is broken by them and once in a while they will throw stuff and break your windows which will be your responsibility to replace. Since AION took over you will not only pay a water fee but they added a Trash fee a sewer fee and billing fee so count with paying at least $83 more. And if you would ever go thru any financial hardship such as losing your job or becoming ill etc.. even if you pay the rent and $100 late fee they will sue you by the 10th and asses your account with $190 more in legal fees even if you had explained your hardship and promise and pay your total rental bill and late fees by the 11th of the month. Now, knowing all this why would you rent from this "luxurious" development?

We have stayed at Aspen for almost 2 years. The first year was okay but after the first year you are not important. They have one of the worst/rude maintenance staff who keep lying and playing games when you ask them to fix issues in your apartment. Our AC is not working for 2 months now, and even after multiple calls/requests, they have not fixed it. They give all kinds of excuses on why they cannot fix it. To help with the heat, they gave us a small window unit in our room and they expect us to be okay until whenever they get the AC fixed. Although the window unit is appreciated, it is not easy for my family to stay at home as it gets above 80F. This happened to multiple families living/lived here. I hope nobody else goes through this experience!

I’m conflicted with writing this review. I like my place and have not really had any issues until now. This is my second year living here, and has had minor issues with heating and cooling two years in a row. Same thing happened last year when it started getting hot in April my a/c was not cooling. Now my home will reach 85- 89 degrees when the temperature out side is 79 degrees. As you can imagine it’s pretty hot inside. When I called maintenance, the on call sent someone out, thought he fixed it and didn’t. I waited a little over an hour nothing changed. I called back was told someone is coming back out, no one came. We dealt with it for the remainder of the weekend. But I did call and left a msg. The next business day I got a call and was told it is not a/c season and I will be added to a list. Ok since the weather cooled back down no complaints. A few weeks later I called back as a reminders that temperatures are over 80 degrees the upcoming week and to ensure someone comes to fix the a/c. A few days later some came out left a door tag no one was home will come back tomorrow. Ok no worries, I called when I got home and left a msg with times someone was home and permission to enter either way. When I called the next day to follow up to ensure some one either came out or was still coming out, the manager stated he never got the msg, asked what number did it call and so on. It was around 3:30pm, I proceeded to inquire as to what time were they going to be there. He stated that no one was going to come out, as he had a meeting to attend, and never got the msg. I began to plead that I live on the third floor and my place is extremely hot as we know heat rises. After going back and forth he offered to have some put in a window unit. NOT ACCEPTABLE when it’s 3:30pm and 85 degrees outside. It was not until I requested upper management that the tone changed. After I received a call from his boss that is when the manager came out to fix it in within 30 min. My issue is that I should not have had to request his boss to get the issue resolved. As a resident I did my due diligence, called and followed up. It seems the manager had a lack of empathy which in this business is the wrong approach. I would never make a resident uncomfortable due to the mistakes of my team. And yes mistakes happen! but as the manager he should have come out without being directed by his boss to do so. I am sure if just explained the situation his boss would have understood.
I have been here a little over 3 years and have not been satisfied with it. The materials used to construct the apartment are low budget, the property management is rude and our stairs have been collapsing for over a year. The pool is nice but has limited hours and each guest has to pay $10 per DAY. There is no assigned parking and if you live on the front half of the complex, you won’t get a spot if it’s past 7:30 PM, and when it snows you can forget getting a spot past 6 PM. The best thing about these apartments is the fact that we have our own laundry room.
Property Manager at Aspen Court Apartments, Responded To This Review
Dear Resident, thank you for sharing your experience and for being a long time resident. Major capital improvements have been in the works to ensure all apartments are Top Notch. Our pool hours are based on the safety of our residents; a lifeguard must be on duty otherwise the pool cannot open. Although there is a pool guest fee, residents are not charged. We charge guests to limit overcrowding since the pool has a capacity limit and we want to give the residents the ability to use it first. We would love the opportunity to speak with you directly to help improve your experience at Aspen Court; unfortunately, without a name we cannot locate you in our database. Please either call the leasing office our email us at ResidentService@GardenHomes.com. Sincerely, Aspen Court Management
My family and I have been here for about 5 months. The complex is huge and has a sidewalk that goes around the entire community, so you can enjoy a good walk or bike ride. A large park with a playground, courts, and more paths is connected through the woods in the back The apartments are like 1,400 square feet and have a den and washer/dryer. The location outside the complex isn't congested. The complex feeds into Eisenhower, Arbor, and Quibbletown schools. You may or may not qualify for free busing if you are 2.0 miles or less from the school. You can pay the school district $425 to secure a seat otherwise. Maintenance comes as soon as possible to fix any problems. I like Norma and the front staff. They are no-nonsense, which I appreciate. They treat this complex like a professional business, and I find the employees fair and respectful. The tenants here seem fine. I don't hear loud music and cars aren't speeding around. There are a lot of families and people walking and enjoying the place. I don't hear my neighbors either, which is a huge plus. I think the wall-to-wall carpeting helps with soundproofing. We picked these apartments because there was carpeting to help with noise between apartments. I like the patios, and the staff keeps the grounds clean and maintained well. The pool and gym are nice also. I don't have anything negative to say about the place. You get what you pay for here.

Hello, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review! Your recommendation means so much to us and we're so happy to have earned it. Thank you again for taking the time to let the world know about your positive experience. Sincerely, Aspen Court Management
I just moved into this place about two weeks ago. The day I received the keys I walked into the apartment (please see attached pictures) and it was in horrible condition. Nothing was cleaned/ stove was dirty/toilet was running for days/ all applicants in the kitchen were sticky/washer and dryer was in the worst condition. the old carpet that they had removed was still on the patio. After that I went to the leasing office and complained and they told me that someone will contact me two days after I moved in but no one showed up or called. I have a one year old and it was a horrible process for moving into this place in this condition. The leasing office manager was very rude when addressing these issues. At one point she even said "I don't want to hear it anymore". After all the complaints they asked me to move to another apartment, I asked if they would help me move since I live alone I had no help and did not respond to my question. None of the workers that came to clean the apartment wanted to actually Clean!! Everyone was pointing fingers at each other. I am stuck here for another year!!!!!!!

Dear Resident, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. According to your review actions were taken to address your concerns. You were offered to move to another apartment and workers did come to your apartment to clean. We would like to speak with you directly to ensure that all your concerns have been resolved. Please call the leasing office at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, Aspen Court Management
I've been living at Aspen Court in Piscataway NJ for about 4 months now and I can honestly say that i am extremely pleased so far. Norma in the leasing office is very helpful and always pleasant, the apartments are huge I was not expecting so much space for a 1 bedroom. The community is very quiet, clean and well kept. The only thing I don't like are the walls in the apartment it stains very easily it's just covered in primer and it's very annoying to have to wipe off and if you wipe too hard the primer comes off, also the gate they have at the front is a joke seems to always be broken, they need to resolve this asap but overall community is safe and clean with spacious parking.

Dear Resident, Thank you for the 4 star review and for choosing Aspen Court as your new home. We would like to discuss your concerns with you, unfortunately without a name we are unable to contact you. Please email us your contact information to residentservice@gardenhomes.com. We look forward to speaking with you. Sincerely, Aspen Court Management
The maintenance staff and the tactics used are dishonest.I agree with the other reviewer and i heard lot of residents leaving have the same issue. They take all of your advance and recarpet the whole apartment all the time. WORST TACTICS EVER. I have lived in multiple luxury apartments from Bay Area to Chicago to NJ to Minneapolis etc and i was never charged these exorbitant charges and recarpeting the whole apartment and getting charged for normal wear and tear. AVOID AT ALL COSTS THIS APARTMENTS. Apartments are spacious but I would rather LIVE IN A PLACE WHERE I DON'T FEEL LIKE CHEATED . I'm planning to do the right thing and report the practices to NJ Rental Protection Agency and contest it in court on behalf of the residents who are in similar situation like me.
THEY LIE AND ARE TERRIBLE TO THE TENANTS (WITHOUT THE TENANTS THE WORKERS WOULDN'T HAVE A JOB!) THEY TREAT TENANTS AS IF THEY ARE BOTHERSOME. THEY RAISE THE RENT EVERY YEAR AND HAVE THE NERVE TO TELL YOU THEY ARE SAVING YOU MONEY BECAUSE THEY CHARGE NEW TENANTS MORE. THE SPACE IS NICE BUT THAT IS ABOUT IT!!!! STAY FAR AWAY ASPEN COURT ISN'T WORTH THE STRESS!!!

Worst experience ever ! We moved into this apartment for the considerable space it offered. This was a temporary arrangement since we were planning to buy our house soon and move out. we were barely in this apartment for 1.5 years. When we were moving in in April 2014, we complained to Amy at the leasing office to that the carpet was too flat and not well kept. She said that the carpet was not new but clean. Taking her word on it we moved in. We moved out Nov 2015 and the home inspection person (I think was chris) was most rudest and most arrogant person I have ever met. He charged us for the FULL carpet. He had the audacity to say that the carpet was brand new when we moved in. After a lot of arguing he called to verify the date the carpet was changed which was 2 years back!!!! before we moved in!!. then he reduced the amount a little. but still retained a significant amount of the deposit. He kept finding small issues and started complaining about the place being dirty and disgusting. I will not recommend aspen court to anyone. Don't go by the sweet talk at the leasing office and the big size and amenities of the apartment. The quality of the blinds especially the patio door blinds are very low quality which keep breaking. The paint is just primer and stains easily. PLEASE TAKE PHOTOS OF THE APPARTMENT BEFORE YOU MOVE IN. They give you a form when you are moving in to write down issues with the apartment. DONOT take it lightly. IF you accept something n that form then they will SCREW YOU on that point.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. At the time a resident vacates an apartment, a move out inspection is conducted. Aspen Court’s inspections are not intended to penalize any resident that is moving out, but are meant to ensure that we are able to deliver a well maintained apartment to each new resident that moves in. We try to be fair, unfortunately there are times when a resident will incur a repair or replacement charge. We are sorry that you feel your move out charges were unfounded. Sincerely, Aspen Court Management
I am in love with my apartment. The staff is friendly and caring. It's like a family and it feels good that the staff who work on the grounds help you our when they see you. the grounds are kept very neat and clean and the office, gym, pool ect is amazing. I feel safe and secure in my apartment home. The area is close to everything, shopping, banking, great restaurants and plenty of entertainment. If your looking for elegance then look no further than Aspen Court.
