New Baltimore is a tale of two cities: the historic charm of downtown and the modern, sleek subdivisions wrapped around lakes and golf courses on the far north side of the city. New Baltimore was first settled in 1796 by French fur trappers. Due to its location on Anchor Bay, the city became a transportation hub for boats carrying goods to other parts of the region. In the late 1800s, and as boating became less popular thanks to trains and, eventually, automobiles, the area transitioned from a shipping hub to a resort town for Detroit residents.
The lakefront is still a popular destination. Watch the sun set over Walter & Mary Burke Park, a great little park with a beach and swimming area, fishing docks, boat docks, playgrounds, bocce ball courts, and two picnic pavilions. Maynard "Red" Aurand Memorial Park features a sledding hill, a playground, ball fields, basketball courts, and a skate park.

Property Ratings at Aspen Creek Apartments
The pictures aren't correct I've lived here for four years and I have not seen two slides at the park. I haven't seen a volleyball court. The management is lazy, and really rude. The drawers in my kitchen are falling apart. The windowsills have mold all over them. My air conditioner didn't work for most of the time and it took them three years to come and fix it.

I’ve been living here 2 months, since July 2020. It’s quiet and clean, I had a few issues with my air conditioning unit but they quickly came and just totally replaced it. The office staff is nice and the maintenance team is terrific. No complaints so far.
Worst place to live, they may treat you well when you moved in but upon moving out they will find any excuse to keep your security deposit. So if your thinking of moving here DON'T DO IT. The property manager Shelly is unprofessional has a horrible attitude and this message "We are so sorry you are unhappy with your experience at Aspen Creek Apartments. Please contact the Property Manager inside the leasing office, so we can make arrangements to correct your concerns" is a joke Shelly won't listen, she's argumentative, she will talk over you. It's impossible to get a word in with her. On the bright side the best part about moving in is moving OUT!!!
I chose Aspen Creek based on the reviews here (and a number of other factors like en suite laundry hookups and dog friendliness), and I was not dissappointed! My husband and I lived in Aspen Creek for over two years. We loved it. The apartments are great value for the money, and the staff is AMAZING. The office staff is responsive and communicative, and the maintenance team is fabulous. Anything that was within management's power to correct was fixed promptly and well. I can't stress enough how great the staff is. Like any apartment situation, sometimes the neighbors are less than ideal, but we had far more pleasant encounters than not. It was a lovely living situation, and we were sad to say goodbye.

Even though we have not lived in our apartment long, Brianna in the office was great when I came out to see the apartment. She showed me an apartment that was exactly like the one I would be moving into as soon as the maintenance guys were finished. The apartment is awesome and we are very pleased. When I told Brianna I was ready to sign as we talked I told her that I was a Vet and she said great you will have a 10% discount off your rent. That really made my day. Since we've moved in anytime we stop in the office for anything all of the staff is more than happy and ready to help you. After we moved in a few weeks ago I noticed that the kitchen faucet was leaking and we were having trouble with the blinds in the living room opening or closing so we called the office. Brianna answered the phone and when we told her she said a maintenance man would be here shortly. About 10 minutes later a knock on our door. It was the maintenance man. He had such a great work attitude, a great smile and he did a great job and he was done in about 30 minutes. I sure won't hesitate to call the office. This is by far the best renting experience I have ever had. Everything is great especially the view in the court yard and all the squirrels. I love calling Aspen Creek my home.
The property manager threatened to not renew my mom's lease because the neighbor keeps complaining about our dog being loud. They let us move in with a big dog and now because my neighbor likes too complain we are told she's too big. Our floors squeak and can't even play with the dog with out the neighbor complaining. If the floors weren't so squeaky it wouldn't be a problem. And the manager shouldn't start out by threatening to kick you out. So sick of this place and there are so many pot holes to dodge around it breaks your car.
This place is atrocious. First off they lie when you come and talk to them. They will tell you its not a high crime area.. * it is. police do special patrols. You would think this would help, but it doesn't. It only causes them to hit you up for a failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign ticket EVERY chance they can sucking you of money and not helping crime at all. Domestic violence is rampant , you can hear neighbors beating their wives.. Of course the cops go to the wrong apartment often so expect them knocking even when you haven't done anything to warrant their attention. They will tell you you will get new carpet.. then after you have signed the lease and have no where else to go tell you that you only get cleaned carpet. If your front door looks sledge hammered in? Don't fret! Its still serviceable and they wont change it. The apartment itself reaked of heavy chemicals that NEVER went away , probably the carpet cleaning. They will lie about cooling saying its only like 80 a mo in bills for electric , when the reality is you will need to spend closer to 200 a mo and ! the btu sucks cause the systen is so old its noisy ( to the point it causes headaches ) and will not cool you in the late evenings when the heat is rising from lower appartments.. Winter! omg .. you get relief from the air bills.. but not so fast.. the heating units go out too!!. It blows cold air for hours not firing up cause its So old!. . so they bring in electric heaters while they work on it.. Of course this added expense to your electric bill? Your fault. If you can afford another place.. id suggest you go there. If you have to live in a slum.. I guess you could do worse.. not sure how much worse.. but I guess it could be..
I have to admit I was very hesitant to move into Aspen Creek because of the reviews I read. However I am pleasantly surprised. It is nothing at all like I thought it would be. It could depend on where you live, I hear its awful to live at the back of the complex but where I live is very quiet, besides a few loud kids which can be annoying if you're at home a lot but I have nice and quiet neighbors. They are all friendly and I am glad I made the choice to live here. As a young adult just getting out of my parents house I think it's a great place to start off at. The rent is very affordable ----- JUST NEVER MAKE A LATE PAYMENT! The late payment fee is kind of steep but over all it's a great place to jump start your life. At least for me it is.
This apartment is average; loud kids every now and then, but it's hard trying to pay rent every month along with other bills and monthly expenses, especially when having three kids and a dog to take care of, this would help me so much.
I've lived here for over two years, and overall it's not horrible. The staff in the office are great people. Maintenence is a bit slow, and doesn't always fix things. I've been lucky enough to have good neighbors for the most part (other than a stalker in the building across from me), but have friends who live here and have a lot of problems with their neighbors, so it would seem that your neighbors will depend on where at in this huge complex you're placed. The further back you live the worse it is. The apartments are very spacious. Overall: a decent place to live for the price.

Aspen Creek Apartments is not an environment I would want my family or any other family for that matter to live. They haven't updated anything here since I lived here with my brother. They just let anyone live here that does drugs or commits crimes. The neighbors fight all the time and the police does nothing about it. You have to call maintenance all the time for something. We had a racoon come into our children's bedroom luckily they was here. I payed my rent on time and they made it seem like I didn't .by placing letters on my door saying a demand for us to move and their excuse was it was a glich in the computer and it wasn't put into the computer,Just Don't Live Here.

I live in a two bedroom apartment, just me and my daughter. Love living here, it's quiet and nice neighbors. Comfortable for us and enjoyable. At the main office It has two pools, indoor and out. It has a exercise room and TV room. We've never had any problems here. Before we moved here I felt so welcomed and felt that this was the right home for me and my daughter.
You get what you pay for. Staff is friendly. Spider problem but they spray.
My stay here, has gone on 8 months Now. I've learned to expect encounters with special needs folks, drunks, and an occasional drug addict. This leads to an overall unpleasant population. However, with an upbeat attitude and a little persistence. You can find peace at a truly lavish clubhouse.

I live in a 3 bedroom deluxe and I love the room it offers. I don't like the fact that the walls are so thin but it's only bad when the neighbors are arguing. Some of the people in my building smoke and they have a horrible smoking policy. Some smoke outside right in front of the door so you have to walk through a cloud of smoke when they're out. They have many renovations that they need to be do but in the year I've been here they've done nothing. Now the complex is huge so they could just be in a different parts. They allow dogs here which isn't an issue to me unless the neighbors are nasty and allow the dog to relieve themself in the common area, which does happen on occasion in my building. The kids are well behaved which is great since there are so many. The cops come often so it's a great neighborhood, I just wished they would fix everything up.
This complex got bad reviews when I first looked into them. I took a shot and I couldn't be happier. They are always on time with maintenece issues and very friendly. My daughter and I really love it here. We have been here almost 3 years and we have had nothing but good experiences here.
Aspen Creek Apartments are uniquely located on the border of a beach town and a small city in the suburbs of Metro-Detroit. This provides the renter many entertainment options, from a quiet weekend of hiking and swimming, to a consumer's shopping heaven. The office staff is very friendly and helpful, and it is a pet-friendly environment. There are indoor and outdoor pools, a racquetball court, and a court for wally-ball or badminton. The apartments themselves are spacious and welcoming. This is a wonderful place to call home if you enjoy a mix of country and city living.

I love my complex, Aspen Creek. I'm about 2 miles from the lake, I-94 is right there. Anything that you could need is minutes away. My 2 bedroom is spacious, quiet and clean. Having an indoor pool with hot tub open year round is amazing and the indoor racquet ball court along with weight room helps to keep in shape. The staff are attentive to your needs should a problem arise. Come check it out, you'll be happy you did!
I live in aspen creek apartments and wonderful maintenance crew that keeps apartments updated and clean. Wonderful amenities; two pools one indoor and one out. Nice hot tub and great workout and lounge area. Everything you want is close by meaning stores/restaurants and there is even a bus line if need. I have wonderful neighbors and we all look out for each other. Car ports to keep cars clean of snow and rain. Rent is great. Can't be beat for the money and area.
Management is always polite and friendly. Maintenance is also friendly and helpful, and prompt to fix things. My apartment is a great size and meets all my family's needs in a home. I'm happy here. Nice out door pool. The indoor pool is great in colder months
I found my apartment on your sight its conveniently located less than one mile from the expressway, near major shopping areas, very quiet complex. It has 2 pools wallyball court, racquet ball court, weight room. The staff is very friendly.

I like Aspen Creek because it is a very affordable, clean and a reasonably quite place to live. It is close to any kind of shopping I want or need to do. There are several dining choices close by. I will, and already have, recommended living her to friends.
You wanted a review, so heres a real one....I have been living at aspen creek now for ten months. I have a 1 bedroom apartment and love it. The premises is clearly well maintained. Mona in the office is great and is very patient and willing to answer questions. The office staff are always very friendly and helpful. Maintenance is always performed same day if not the next. My apartment was very clean when I moved in. Some things to keep in mind: - The building is from the 1950's, but its been very well taken care of. - Hot water pressure in the shower can be a little low at times (during the usual shower times) but is never absent. Otherwise, there's no issue. - The phone wiring in the walls might not be sufficient for phone line internet (DSL / ATT UVERSE). I had ATT install internet and they informed me that the old phone wiring in the walls was the source of the occasional connection loss that I experience. - There are alot of stores nearby (Kohls, Walmart, Meijer, etc...) - With regard to noise, there is no issue in my opinion. On occasion (maybe once every one-two months) the neighbor might have a party and you can hear voices (or bass from a stereo), but its not bad and can be ignored. The apartment complex does have quiet hours between 10pm and 8am.
