Property Ratings at Aspire 349
I lived at this complex for over 5 years. It used to be called Carolina Cove, however the property was recently purchased by Balfour Beatty and they renamed it Aspire 349. I never had any problems with the former management, even when I was seriously injured and was in the hospital for months they let me out of a 12 month long lease no questions asked. When I went to move out under the new management, everything went okay at first. I received a "Final Account Balance" of around $36.00 which I was more then happy to pay. Then just a few days later I received another email informing me that I owe over $400.00 to replace the carpet in my room, and if I didn't pay, I would be turned over to collections. I sent many emails and phone calls but never was able to get in contact with any form of management. The carpet in my room was at least 5-6 years old and was absolutely disgusting when I moved in a year and a half ago. The carpet is also extremely cheap, some of the lowest quality you can buy, so it was definitely long overdue to be replaced. Long story short I do not recommend living here under any circumstances. If you do decide to live here, I have a suggestion. Take pictures of EVERYTHING. The porch, walls, carpet, etc. Even if you leave the space looking cleaner then you found it, if something needs replaced due to normal wear and tear, rest assured you will be getting the bill and it will be overpriced. Seeing is how I live over 4 hours away and work during the week days I have no option but to pay the bill or go through a mediation office in Wilmington for assistance in settling the matter. Aspire 349 might as well be a criminal enterprise.
Do not live here. I just had a robbery on the floor above me. Gun shots. Police. meth and cocaine use and selling of hard drugs in my building. Partying til god knows when every night, not just weekends. My roommate basically has a live in boyfriend who had a domestic abuse type situation and police in my apartment. I’ve only been here a month and I don’t feel safe, haven’t slept at all, and have been told I’m in a “binding contract” no matter how unhappy I am here. This place has driven me to tears every night. Do not move here.

They will not work with you or negotiate in any way to cancel a lease even for anything. Also don’t call back ever when they say they’ll get back to me. The lease agreement does have some illegal conditions so that needs to be changed. Overall horrible place to get a lease and they need to work on their costumer service!
They just did a bunch of upgrades and made so many changes and it has made living here awesome! Their wifi is one of the only ones around town that has a private and QUICK connection rather than shared with everyone else living here. All of my utilities plus furniture are included in the rent which is so helpful. They keep dog treats in the front office and are always so nice to my dog and I when I come in. They are constantly doing resident events which are super fun and the free food is just an added bonus. The Cove is tucked off away from the main road which gives it a more private feeling than most of the other communities around. This should be your first stop when looking around. Three of my friends are transferring here next year because of how much better living here is than at some of the other options.

It's so nice to come home to new furniture, a hot tub, AND a fire pit. It such a relaxing environment and the office staff is always ready to help! I can't recommend this place enough!

I've lived here for 2 years, going on 3 (already resigned for next year) and this place is great! They have recently redone their clubhouse and pool area too and it looks so nice. The amenities are so convenient and its actually cheaper than the other student living places in the area.
