Downtown Denton wraps around its historic square. The Courthouse on the Square, built in 1896, is the centerpiece and landmark of the Downtown area. It is no longer used as a courthouse; instead, it is the Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum. The square is a gathering place for residents and is where a variety of events and festivals are held, such as the Arts & Autos festival, which combines local artists with car enthusiasts for a unique event that also includes food and live music.
This very walkable community is home to a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and antique stores. Denton is a college town, home to both the University of North Texas and the Texas Woman's University. The city is known for its music, the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo, and a variety of music events that includes the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival. Downtown Denton is home to a variety of museums and art galleries, including the Bayless-Selby House Museum and the Lightwell Gallery at UNT.

Property Ratings at Aspire
All the reviews are true. Everything was broken and needed repair upon move in, the unit was definitely not inspected properly. There were painted over bugs - and no they haven't gone away! They "treat" and you pay for pest control but there are roaches. Things get broken and it takes FOREVER for them to fix anything and then it really hardly fixed just enough to not happen again. I could go on and on about how terrible management is - they never answer the phones, it takes days to hear back in email and they simply do not care at all. Nothing was renovated. It's not new. Nothing is kept clean the laundry room is always a mess. There's always trash and broken glass around the dumpsters.... don't fall for it.

Roaches and wasps occasionally get in my unit, maybe 2-3 times a week - nothing crazy but it's definitely annoying. I'm anal with cleaning and pesticides and it has stayed in check for the most part. The units are also really outdated. I have a "renovated" unit and while the countertops, cabinets, and appliances are nice you can still feel the age with their lazy renovation. My carpet has large rips in two places, door looks like it'd been kicked in, sliding glass doors don't seal properly, the bathroom tub is sloppily painted over and there are cracks in the tile with unfinished caulking on the fixtures. The wall trim was also done so sloppily there are gaps under it or just straight up chunks missing. The vinyl faux wood flooring was also damaged and peeling up in multiple places at my arrival. The paint they used is also so cheap it's peeling and falling off in some places after a few months, disregarding the spots that had already peeled off prior to my move in. To be honest the renovations would've been amazing had the contractor just had a little attention detail and not rushed so much. The laundry room is reliable just over priced at $4 a load, and the pool is actually quite nice. Parking situation and the location are very good. If my rent raises at renewal I would pay more than their renewal rate and go to somewhere newer. If it were to stay the same however, this place is just okay enough I'd consider staying for one more term.
There are roaches everywhere, no matter how hard you try to get rid of them you can't. The worst part is waking up to them crawling on you in your bed. Everything needs constant repair, exposed wires when moving in. Old management was amazing, new management is RUDE and does not care. It should be a warning sign when you have to sign a lead paint and asbestos waver when moving in.
I love how I’m still requesting maintenance on my SHOWER AND PATIO DOOR (that doesn’t lock!!!) since I moved in 2 months ago. I also have a microwave sitting in my living room that was supposed to be installed a month ago. Couches have been sitting outside the trash can for 2 weeks at least. I still don’t even have my mailbox key. They got me into my apartment a whole month late also. Ridiculous they charged $100 extra a month for “renovations” when my apartment isn’t even complete 2 MONTHS AFTER I moved in. Don’t even email customer service they are a joke and don’t respond back! If 0 stars was an option I would put that.
The entire time we have lived here, since the very first day we moved in, we have had a roach problem. They assured us before moving in that this would not be an issue. The manager is rude, and they do not care at all about their tenants. I Do not really recommend moving here at all.
This apartment complex is great for any student. You get way more for your money than any student living apartment. The office staff is super nice and they repaved the roads so there are no pot holes. A lot of the apartments are getting renovated and look really nice so we are hoping to move into one of those when our lease is up.
The day after moving into the apartment my SO woke up to a cockroach crawling on his face. He complained and we were put us on the exterminator list. I'm not sure if the exterminators had any kind of training but they were not safe to have in your home. I watched spray a crack in our kitchen and watched all of the poison fall onto our clean dishes in the sink and coat our counters. I should say one of the many places that the walls/cabinet/floors didn't touch anything. There was a large gap between our counter and the cabinet below that was about 1/2 and inch wide, wide enough for cockroaches. Probably because the middle of the house was the highest, then everything sloped down and away from that point, so anything round (pencil, orange, art supplies) would rolling away. There were large cracks present when we moved in, but after a bad rain storm that caused flooding in area, the building shifted, and the cracks got way worse, in the living room there was a crack, after the flooding the crack went up, into the ceiling, through the ceiling into the kitchen, then from the ceiling in the kitchen to the floor, the crack was about 1/8 inch wide, and the wall looked as if it would fall over at any time. One of our light fixtures began to drip one night, which escalated to the light fixture filling with water and pouring water onto the floor, and the rest of the light fixtures in the room dripping. The maintenance men who responded looked at the problem and proceeded upstairs to fix it, after they told us a hilarious story about how earlier that week someone else in the complex had been spraying bleach on the mold growing in their bathroom, until one day the tub from the floor above fell through the floor into his bathroom. They told us that no one was reporting it, but when we talked to our neighbors they complained that they couldn't get anything fixed. Once they stopped the leak no one came to follow up on water damage, look for mold, which the electrical. One of our neighbors was kicked out of his apartment because they had to remodel it. The person that remodeled it chain smoked the whole time. While remodeling I was killing as many as 40 a day. Everyone just told us "bugs are just something you have to live with in Texas". I would, on purely safety and human health grounds urge no one to live here. They show you a beautiful apartment, then put you up in the roach motel from your nightmares.
The apartment is 495 sqft, a decent sized bedroom, a decent size living room, a horribly small kitchen, a small but workable bathroom and a big patio. The only windows are 2 big patio doors, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Luckily our patio doors face a grassy area but most of the patio and balconies face the parking lot. There is a pool and a laundry facility. We moved into a major bug problem, which has since taken care of.. and one of the patio doors was not really sealed properly but they took care of that, too. We have had plumbing issues.. Basically an older small apartment.
I've lived in this complex for two years now. Jelly up at the leasing office is fantastic, very helpful and sweet!! They are remodeling the complex, both in and out. The only problem with this apartment complex is cockroaches!!!!! They do minimal work on getting rid of them. The place is just old and so cockroaches are expected, but not at the number I have experienced. My neighbors don't seem to have AS BIG of a problem as I do, they still have em though. I recommend this place to people, but Warning there are cockroaches!!!
