I’ve been living here for 2 years and never had an issue. The staff is friendly and greet you, they are understanding when anyone is in financial hardship. Everyone in this community greets you and is friendly. Any maintenance issues I’ve had are taken care of promptly. My kids love it, I work nights And there’s no noise during the day. The outer areas could use a new age look but over all I’m happy. My apartment it self is pretty modern and nice. It’s located right in the center shops, good schools and Parks. The gym is pretty good here along with the pool.

Valet living is extremely unreliable. Trash pick up is missed several times a week on scheduled pick up days. Communication to residents could use some improvements regarding fire extinguisher inspections & maintenance request. Parking is very limited throughout the complex!

Where to even begin with this miserable excuse for a community. They recently redid piping and fix-ups in the apartment without any warning. I work nights and had an entire crew barge into my room without any warning and they ripped up our entire apartment. No apology or notice and its been nearly two weeks since our apartment got tracked up and filled with holes and our cabinets were ripped to shreds. No word on if or when it will be fixed. If I even can talk to the front desk each person gives a different answer. Here are some pics of what I have to live with. STAY AWAY!!!

Noise - Our neighbors are extremely loud with their music and TV (not your typical apartment noise, but blaring noise). The cops and front office has been called no less than ten times combined. All the office will do is simply call the neighbor and tell them that they aren’t being neighborly. After that, there’s “nothing more they can do.” Maintenance - Takes a minimum of two weeks for them to react to a service request (and that’s only if you keep calling the office to check on the status). Exterior - The roof, siding, and landscaping has been much improved. Layout - Unless you want to never sleep, don’t choose the phase two apartments. The shared wall is your bedroom and your neighbor’s living room. The phase one apartments do not have this problem.

I've lived here for 2 years and I have to say O was decently happy until things in my apartment started falling apart. My AC went out last summer and wasn't fixed for 3 weeks. The heat quit during a cold front and that never even got looked at no matter how many times I called them. Now,half the lighting in the unit doesn't work due to an electrical issue and it's been a month since I put in a service request. It was fine as a starter place for my husband and I to live, but we're out when our lease is up.

These apartments are about 30 years old, as such many things are close to breaking or in need of repair. For the most part the maintenance staff is friendly and knowledgeable but the organization of getting things done needs a lot of work. You will not experience this until you move in, as they prioritize new customers and everything ran very smoothly up until the time of move in. After that everything started to get very difficult. Make sure you walk through your new apartment before signing the lease! They try to get you to sign the lease first and view the apartment after, citing that the apartment will not be ready until the day of move in. Ours was not clean & different than what we had been shown. There is no scheduling of when something will be accomplished and it seems as if most of the staff work work by word of mouth, therefore things easily get confused and left undone. There were several main things in our apartment that were unusable/broken when we moved in and it took nearly three months just to get everything working. They were important items: A/C, leaky faucets, non working refrigerator parts, etc. These are things that should be working and in good condition when a new tenant moves in. Also there are roaches. We have had our apartment sprayed for roaches 4 times in two months and still are seeing them consistently. Beware the high energy bills as well! Our A/C ran non stop for the first month we lived here but only managed to keep the apartment about 82 degrees no matter what temperature it was set at. We requested maintenance but were told nothing could be done and that was just how the A/C worked. Because of this our first energy bill was over $300 and only cleaning out the A/C coils and fixing some other things on our own have we been able to bring our bill down slightly. If we had known we would have used the extra $300 dollars a month that we are now paying for energy bills to live in a nicer complex. The complex is in a safe area and is fairly quiet and externally well kept for the most part. They are working on renovating the outside of the apartments but if they have plans to renovate any of the insides they have not started yet. If you are very persistent with the office staff you may eventually get some things fixed but it takes a lot of time and energy to get a response or results.
DO NOT MOVE HERE. Your A/C will not get fixed for a month. As soon as you sign the lease, most of the staff are very rude. You will not only not be taken care of but will be inconvenienced. You absolutely do not want to waste money here. Every appliance that can break probably will and it will not get resolved for weeks unless you chase them down.
It's an amazing complex. All the employees are great!!!!! Glad we choose Astor park.
