Property Ratings at Astro Vista Apartments
Students do not move in here! The studio is so small for the price that you are paying. The insulation of the walls are terrible. During the summer months, the walls are hot to the touch and during the winter months there is condensation on the inside of the walls. Also, you can hear everything that your neighbors are doing. Everything is old and rusted. The paint falls off at the slightest touch. Management are the biggest snakes ever. They constantly were trying to change the rent price in hopes I did not notice. They tried to make me pay full price for the last month of my rent when the lease was only for a week of the month. Also, they refuse to give back security deposits by claiming that they do not have record of the security deposit and that the place was left a disaster. Do not live here! This place is constantly trying to steal money from people.
Dents and marks are obvious and painted over. Rusty door and cupboard hinges. Apartment wasn't clean upon move-in, especially the cupboards. Filthy laundry facility. Major laundry and door shipment theft; some mailbox theft during my tenancy. Ants! Heated water lasts 20mins. Parking sucks both residential as well as private property spots. Anyone can shut your water off. Windows weren't properly installed as you can hear wind whistling from it. Backyard wasn't cleaned and they just covered the ground with faux grass to cover nasty dirt and pests. Property manager sucks, her name is Natalia. She chooses who to help and when to help and if she would even want to help. Overall not worth the move. It's loud.
My boyfriend and I lived in these apartments for a year and it was horrible. The apartments are TINY for what you're paying, (they take advantage of students on their own for the first time). The complex is always so noisy and the neighbors are so rude. There are many families of 5 living in 325 sqft studios. They complained on us because we had a rolling computer chair on hardwood floor. When we showed them we did not have anything that could make noise they threatened to evict us. Management is also horrible. They do not take anyone under 30 seriously and do not treat us with respect. I asked for the toilet to be repaired because it wasted water during a drought and they told me they wouldn't fix it for over a month. When we finally moved out we moved early and got the studio professionally cleaned. They told us we had to pay rent for the next month even though we had already moved out and our six month lease was up. They told us (as we sat in our new place) they would not send our deposit back until we paid more rent for time we were not there. They have still not sent the deposit, way past the 21 days period you legally have to send back the deposit. We are getting our lawyer involved but seriously STAY AWAY from here especially if you are young.
4 stars for now because I haven't officially moved in yet but once I'm moved in 1 week to go! I'll update my review. Going through the whole process of hunting and renting an apartment is stressful. the management team at Astro Vista has made the whole experience relaxing and efficient. The studios are beautiful and updated the area is nice and diverse. For this area you can't beat the rent with all utilities included. The manager Chris was full of info on the apartment and fully answered all my questions and was patients respectful and friendly. Kyle has answered every one of my phone calls and was courteous throughout the whole process. I'm sure I will enjoy living here.
by the way, ignore those 2 reviews "An outstanding gem .." and "Pretty Cool for a Studio".. They sound like fake reviews by the management office. If you read them, you'll see "The units are beautiful with granit countertops," and "The kitchen has granite counter tops " . It sounds more like a commercial than real reviews.
This place stands out from the rest of the area as being one of the nicer, well maintained, and well managed places in Linda vista. The units are beautiful with granit countertops, stainless everything, tile shower, I mean it's really really nice, did I mention hardwood floors in most units? Management is phenomenal, they take care of you. And are extremely friendly and helpful. I want to point out that Kyle, the tall handsome man with slick black hair has got to be one of the most understanding, courteous, makes you feel good no matter what circumstance types, just the best type of management material. During my eviction he was friendly throughout the entire thing. was helpful in understanding gave me my options with no hard feelings, and gave me Respect when even the owner did not. The owner scoffed at me when I said good morning but he's rarely there. The other staff members are extremely friendly as well and done judge, I'm a heroin addict and could openly express my issues and why I couldn't pay rent and they were all supportive and gave me advice. I have never left there without a smile or without knowing I was taken care of. The rooms are great, parking fees are little ridiculous, it was like $110 or something like that every so many months. Don't quote me on it but it's a lot. Marijuana smoke exits the windows of id say 1/4 but it's classy people, not druggies. It's still studios and middle class at best sometimes but my neighbor was a cop, the other worked at nordstroms, some people play music loud but overall they keep to themselves. It's a diverse complex in the middle of the Vietnamese part of town. Right next to rite aid and a whole strip mall, 2 gas stations including a chevron, a few liquor stores, etc. I wouldn't have to go far to do anything. And even close to mesa college. It's a 30 minute walk. It's great. Downsides is that it is an old building that they have done the best they can with but still old, plumbing is horrible (always have a plunger) but they really have done their best with what they have. I'd do it again. I am making an effort to rate this place any where I can with the honest truth, and I want people to really know how great the staff is and especially the units.
The complex has studios to 3 bedroom apartments. My studio apartment is the perfect size for 1 to 2 people. The apartment has wood floors throughout. The living/bedroom is very spacious. The kitchen has granite counter tops and is big enough to hold my washer and dryer (even though the complex has laundry rooms) and a tall cabinet I bought for extra storage. The bathroom is huge with enough space to hold three medium sizes storage units. The electrical wiring could stand to be upgraded because I've blown a fuse in the kitchen a few times. One thing I like about the complex is that they have an automatic mass notification system for important notices to all tenants via phone and there's always parking available - if you've paid the $150 annual parking fee. It's also within walking distance of restaurants, a grocery store, fast food and a pharmacy. Like any other place in California, the price is higher than the same type of apartment in other states, but it's all relative. Overall, this is a really nice complex and I love my apartment.
