While it may be the smallest city in Massachusetts, Chelsea is one of its most populated. This busy city is three miles northeast of Boston, wrapped by the Mystic River. This historic city was first settled in 1624, and much of its history is still evident in its Victorian architecture and narrow streets. Chelsea is filled with charm and personality, from its corner markets and tree-lined streets to its blend of historic brick buildings and sleek, modern complexes.
When you move to your apartment in Chelsea, you'll discover a fast-paced but friendly city filled with unique landmarks. This is the home of Bunker Hill Community College, Mystic Mall, and Mary O'Malley State Park. Commuters can take the MBTA train from Bellingham Square or the 111 bus into downtown Boston. The Tobin Bridge leads Chelsea residents to the Boston National Historical Park, the Bunker Hill Monument, the USS Constitution, and Downtown Boston in minutes.

Property Ratings at Atlas Lofts
The management is beyond terrible! Every time it rains, my exterior brick wall leaks so much it floods the living room and dining room. I’ve heard from other residents that it’s a problem all over the building because it hasn’t been properly maintained. Management kept telling us the mortar needs to be repointed and that they would fix it soon. It’s been 3 years now. The latest property manager (there have been at least 3 so far) said the management company can’t afford to fix it and that we can always move. It consistently takes months for them to respond to routine maintenance issues. (Our only toilet didn’t work properly for more than a month before they finally got around to fixing it.) The building and apartments are unique and I love the aesthetic, but the walls (and ceiling and floors) are thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. And the fact that they don’t seem to care about their tenants and expect us to accept their yearly rent increases while they refuse to even weatherproof their apartments is inexcusable!

The property manager is impossible to communicate with. They never took care of the property ex; left a punched hole wall, only provided 1 garbage cans for 2 buildings so when the garbage overflowed rats would infest the garbage area, the halls smelled of smoke, a neighbors fire alarms all broke at once and they never updated it. Not only this; mgmt company lost two of my rent checks, they gave away my parking spot. Please don’t rent here, also they are getting sued for almost a million dollars. Apartments were cool but the property mgmt is horrible not worth it.

Wonderful place to live, the building is so beautiful and the management is great especially Kim, the regional manager. If you are looking for a great place to live and it is near Boston but without the high price tag of Boston looks no further, the box district is the place.

Walls thinner than paper. You will hear your neighbors lives easier then if they were in the same room. Horrible management.

The management here is awful! They do not take care of anything. The day I got my apartment it got handed to be dirty, like who does that. My dishwasher was broken and took over 3 months to get it fixed. My dryer broke over 2 months to get it fixed. I keep my apartment super clean and I found cockroaches, reported it and management didn’t even reply to my report. Management didn’t do anything I had to bomb them myself. Not until the city was called did they call the exterminator to come on site. The apartments are nice but for the money it if not worth the headaches.

We have been in Atlas Lofts for about 2 years now, and what seemed like a great place to live, has us now shopping around. In just our short time we have seen 3 different managers come through. The location is decent. A quick walk to the end of the street lands you on a bus route that is frequently packed, but will take you to the orange/green line. The street has potential to be very pretty, but unfortunately some citizens find it necessary to litter in the streets, and the landscaping could use a few more treatments than it receives. The building is VERY unique. Each apartment is different, and having the large windows and 12 foot ceilings is a nice touch. Our particular unit could benefit from another light fixture, and our brick wall had a leak issue during a bad rainstorm, but otherwise our unit hasn't had many issues. Many of the neighbors seem to feel the same, as they are constantly talking about different problems across the complex. For a place we really loved when we got here, we just seem to agree, and have outgrown our home.
