Property Ratings at Aulden at the Highlands
I love my place its peace and quiet I been here 3 years and like it
My husband and I have lived here for 2 years and I can honestly say that things have definitely changed for the better. My husband and I had planned to leave but things have gotten better and we don’t plan to go anywhere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Maintenance always responds and is very adamant about fixing any issues we may have. We’ve never had any roach problems until about a month ago and it was only 3 or 4 roaches. We contacted the office and pest control was out the next day and we have not had another pest control problem. I can see the changes they are making and I love it. They’ve even added property security, recovered and painted the parking lot and the buildings, easy bill pay online, resurfaced the pools, and looks like they are fixing the gates. We’re happy to live here and we look forward to what else is to come. Thank you for making our home better!
I have renewed my lease twice and I’ve never had any issues. We recently got new management and they have been very helpful. The apartments have officers that patrol the apartments and this makes me feel safer when I come home late.
I had never heard of a one bedroom townhome loft until I moved here. And needless to say I love the setup of the town home. It's roomy it gives me the feeling of having a small little house within a big community around me. And as far as it being so many apartments it is very quiet here. Maintenance response to request in a good timely manner and the office will try to help you if you have issues.
This community is horrible! The staff in the office seem nice and helpful when they’re trying to con you into signing a lease. Once you move in they’re rude and not helpful at all. They just give you the run around. You have to submit maintenance requests through the office staff (who don’t word them correctly at times) and the maintenance men don’t respond to the requests in a timely manner. I have been waiting three weeks for them to come fix a leak in my restroom that is causing black mold. (Not to mention I submitted a request for this problem LAST November and it was never fixed.) I notified them that hornets were somehow getting into my living room (I’m assuming through cracks in my windows and that within the past 24 hours I had to kill four of them that just appeared in my living room. They didn’t seem to have any sense of urgency or care that I have to stay with a friend so that I don’t get stung in my sleep. DO NOT MOVE HERE! You will surely regret it, like I do.
Their parent company, Flourish, are a hassle to deal with. I fell in love with the property and ignored the reviews, but I shouldn't have.
I lived here for a year and a half and the apartments itself was fine. It was mostly quiet with the occasional east Dallas shenanigans. My main problem was always the office employees. All of them are rude and don't care about you. They hardly ever pick up the phone and don't even think about leaving a message bc they WILL never call you back. My AC went out last summer on a Saturday evening and their answering servuce didn't work for maintenance. I had to wait until the end of the day on MONDAY to get maintenance to come out. I had to call them over and over that day to get any information if maintenance was coming bc I had been without AC in 100 degrees for 72 hours. They don't care about you. They also have an online service which can date back a few months on your fees and payments, and I had noticed they charged me a late rental fee which I had never paid my rent late. It took two months to resolve this bc I could never get a hold of a manager. The managers are also NEVER there and they will NEVER respond back to you. Everything is completely disorganized. The prices are getting high in Dallas for apartments, find you another place in E. Dallas bc the office employees are terrible. If you think you'll never talk to the office, better think again bc things break and you'll have to deal with these disrespectful girls for months.
The worst mantiene ever even service! Going on 1 yr here my sink has about 4 months not working & they dont do nothing! The walls are mold, they literally just paint over it! Have had leaking in my daughters room & chimney all my decor got wet even my tv messed up thanks to that... Also has leaking on my washer dryer conection all the way o the restroom leading to almost my room.. They have came & say its up to manager to see what she will do & they literally dont do nothing! I call to tell them & they wont take my call they hang up.. or say o your husband has to call.. Also when we came to see them they showed us a very nice apartment.. then we moved in & the place was horible! Concret floor just painted brown.. On the other hand the washer & dryers dont even work.. you have to pay for acess to the gym also.. literally so many other better places & not even as horrible as this!

Nothing but issue after issue.. Every time you think something is going good, something comes along and they don't manage well.. I am not going to get into personal references, but this has been my worst experience in apartment complex ever. I would say you get what you pay for, but that isn't true. Rent is pricey for the area. The grounds are nasty. Dog crap every where. Noone picks up after their dogs. Trash dumpsters are always full, but trash is always spread all over the property. The children that live on the property are the worst. They are constantly tearing up the property and destroying things. I pay for pest control, but they have only been in my apt twice. If you like neighbors that fight, smoke weed, or constant dog barking at all times of the night.. Oh don't forget, you can be the random winner of getting your car towed for whatever reason they think up (standards change daily), then this is the place for you. I was going to look into moving into The Lex, but they are owned by the same ppl, so going to keep looking.. Better off moving out of the area, quality and how ppl are treated is def different.

I am a current resident at The Solaris. I have been living here for 3 years and I don't plan on moving any time soon!!!
I am a resident at the Solaris in Dallas. Yesterday my parents drove up from East TX(2hours away) to be with me when I bought my first car on my own. When we got back to the apartment with my new car we realized that I was only allotted two visitor passes and we now had three cars. With the leasing office being closed I could not go and get another pass. I wrote a note stating the situation and placed it in the dashboard. Of course you could guess that my brand new car got towed due to the fact that I am writing this review.I asked to be reimbursed for the $165 $30taxi ride to get me to the tow yard 30 minutes across the metroplex. The leasing office AND corporate investment management refused to do so. There are constantly all types of broken down cars/motorcycles in our parking lot that never get towed(with no parking pass) and I find it strange that my brand new car gets towed on the first night of being there. This is not the only problem I am having with the property neither. I kill at least two roaches a week that come up through my sink, one of my neighbors sells marijuana, and my other neighbor smokes the marijuana(which the smell comes through my vents). I have kept quiet about these things because rent is fairly cheap but now my rent has gone up $30 $64utilities/pest/trash per month AND NOW the $195 for the towing incident.
I'll be moving into the Solaris in 2 weeks. Before speaking to someone in the leasing office, I took the liberty of drving and walking around the complex. I noticed that neither of the gates work. Its a bit of a concern, considering the surrounding complexes and the increased probabilty of crime. However, I have not moved in yet, so I can not make that assumption fairly. I also noticed that during my walk, they have some nice features. I noticed the hammocks (which I fell off of, in a pathetic attempt to lay on it) and fire pit area. I noticed the swinging bench, and the 2 nice pool areas. Both pools were unlocked and the water was clean. I noticed the park and play area, but was disappointed in the amount of shade it offered. There were several seating areas as well. I did not see the organic garden. There is a chance I may have over looked it. The dog park offered little shad as well, and it smelled of dog poo. Clearly, no one is picking up behind their dogs and the the poo is just marinating on the grounds. Good thing I don't have a pet coming along.. I guess. From what I observed the grounds were pretty well kept. I can tell its an older apartment complex. But there were several dumpsters, and not much litter on the ground. The balcony's appear spacious and the neighborhood appeared quiet. I have not gotten a chance to view the inside of the unit, as mines is not ready yet. I am expected to move by the 08/15/16. The management, once I did go inside, was very helpful and pleasant. The only complaint I have at this time in regards to the management is that they don't always pick up the phone. However, they do get back to you if you leave a message. I'll update this post upon moving into the complex.
This was a first apartment for my roommate and I. It was cheap and it seemed OK. We didn't know much since we're new at this. The ladies in the office are great and matinance too. The area itself isn't good though. Chasity in the office told us the place is really quite. We have lived here for 5 months and yeah it was quite despite the sketchy neighborhood. Two days before Christmas my grandparent's came to visit me. It was 2:45 in the afternoon and my grandpa went down for a smoke and three guys and a girl beat him up and robbed him at gun point. They had three guns. They all wore hoodies and tightened the hoods so you couldn't make out their features. My sisters and cousins were downstairs when it happened and luckily they ran up and got us. They pointed a gun at my mom and they torn off the entire back left side of my grandpa's pants. He ended up with four staples on his head, nine stitches in his nose, and two fractured ribs. They took his phone, wallet, and the keys to my grandma's truck. It was a very traumatizing even for my family. Especially so close to Christmas. No it isn't the apartments fault that these people chose to do suck an awful thing to someone, but I definitely don't feel safe anymore. I am now going to break my 12 month lease and do every thing possible to get the fees removed.
I would recommend the complex to anyone looking to live somewhere on a budget that doesn't make you feel like you are living in the dumps. I feel comfortable and safe here. It's a dog friendly community and welcomes all breeds of dogs. It's wonderful to see all of the "aggressive" breeds getting to play together in the dog park. The neighborhood has a bad reputation and before moving here, I heard horror stories. But I haven't experienced anything here to make me think those stories are anything more than stories. I feel perfectly safe in the complex and surrounding areas. Pro: Price! Much cheaper than equivalent apartments closer to Dallas. Upgraded apartments are really nice (laminate floors, new quiet appliances, etc.)Maintenance crew is responsive to needs. Cons: Neighbor noise - you can hear your neighbors through the walls. To some extent this is to be expected - but not when you can hear their phone playing music through the walls. Electricity bill is much higher than expected - and the thermostat can not be programmed. And if you are short, the cabinets are really high! The only real problem I have with this apartment complex is the management team. They are very bad about returning phone calls, replying to messages, and generally make themselves very difficult to reach.
As soon as I moved in, I had problems. The apartment smelled old and musty. They didn't sweep or wash the walls. There was bacteria and mold along the inside of the refrigerator and it smelled disgusting. The countertops were painted without a finish so they are always sticky. My toilet didn't flush all the way, which added to the smell. I told them about a had a leak in my living room, which soaked the baseboards. They came a week later and replaced the boards, but didn't fix the leak. I told them the leak came back, and its worse. It rained hard about 20 days out of that month. Every time, I had to put pots and bowls down to catch the rainfall, cleaning up the overflow in the morning with my personal towels. The manager keeps telling me different reasons for them not fixing it. So now I have rotting floorboards and the perfect environment for mold.

very well rounded community, went to visit for the first time today, greeted with a smile and "hello how are you" the lovely women that helped me and my boyfriend were sweet, and of-erred as much help as we needed. We are financially struggling and they showed us what would best fit our needs, looking forward to living in this community.
I've really enjoyed my time at The Solaris. It's fairly quiet and I've experienced few problems. The girls in the leasing office are sweet and for a fairly large complex they know who I am, which is nice. The apartments were built in the 80s, I believe. They're very spacious and in pretty great condition. On The Solaris website, they definitely try to make them look much more luxurious than they are though. It talks about like green spaces and being eco-friendly. And again, they're great apartments, this just isnt Uptown. At all. They do try though. Like there is a little community garden that they planted and then absolutely no one helped with so its just a weedy mess. And someone stole the tomato cages... but they did try. I've only had to request maintenence calls twice. When I first moved in they were here the same day I called. More recently it's been much more difficult, over the course of two months, I submitted my request online, made two calls, and finally went to the office - maintenence happened to be sitting in the office so they came that afternoon. My only REAL complaint though because they never mentioned it at any point during the leasing process - so I assume it happened with the ownership change - to use the tiny little workout room, its an extra $50/month. Insane. Lake Highlands North is a 5 minute drive away and its $18/month for an amazing facility with all the weights and machines you can imagine. Apart from that, it really is a great space for the price. I absolutely have no regrets deciding to lease here.
If you like having apartment management that is impossible to get ahold of and will cost you plenty of money in towing fees then this is the place for you. In the 4 short months the I have been a resident here, I have had nothing but issues. The things that they advertise on their website are very inaccurate. The claim to have a dog washing station and a shaded area in the dog park area. They have neither. Those were the big things that sold us on this apartment. They say they are going to fix things and they do not. We are renting a 2 bed/2 bath apartment with "upgraded" features. Our upgraded dishwasher was not furnished to us when we moved in. We have requested it several times and it has yet to be furnished to us. We have attempted to request out weather stripping to get fixed with no luck of getting in touch with the management. Because the weather stripping is messed up our door swings open and our dogs can run out. Another resident maced one of my dogs because the door came open and he got out. Granted the other resident was behind the gate of the dog park and could have easily pulled his dog away but chose to spray mine with mace consequently getting it all over my sisters face and body causing her severe pain. This is the only apartment I have ever lived in that will tow your car or your quests car, with no warning, if you do not have a guest pass. My car was involved in and auto accident and had to be take to the shop where I was provided a rental car which obviously has no parking sticker on it. I went to get my rental on Friday straight after work, in Mesquite. By the time I got home the office was closed not affording me the opportunity to stop by the office and get a guest pass. Later that evening I had an emergency situation where I needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible. When I went down to get in my car it was gone. The Solaris towed my car with no warning and I was left to figure out another way to get to the hospital, where I ended up having emergence surgery and staying for days. EVERYTHING about these apartments is awful. Especially the management. Just to get them to answer their phone I had to call from my hospital phone because they would not answer calls from mine or my sister's cell phone. I asked to speak with a manager and was informed she was gone for the day, so I asked to have the manager call me tomorrow. Apparently she will be gone tomorrow as well. Anytime I have asked to speak with a Manager I am given the run around. If you want to enjoy where you live THE SOLARIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE APARTMENTS TO MY WORST ENEMY!!!!
