Property Ratings at Auraria Student Lofts
The building management has changed so many times yet nothing has changed. For almost an entire semester there was no hot water, and this was during the fall/winter. 1 of the 3 elevators broke in December and hasn't been fixed, and the 2 remaining elevators are inconsistent and often out of order. The floors are almost always dirty with some floors smelling of roten eggs and urine. No matter how much we complain about these issues they don't go away. I'm glad that my lease has finally ended and I can escape from the h*ll hole that is Auraria Student Lofts
Property Manager at Auraria Student Lofts, Responded To This Review
We're very sorry to hear about your negative experience at our Auraria Student Lofts. Our aim is always to provide a comfortable and enjoyable living space for our tenants. We deeply regret that your living conditions were less than satisfactory during your time with us, and we appreciate you bringing these problems to our attention.
I moved here in August of 2023. I beg of you, DO NOT move here if you value your safety, peace of mind, or working apartment/building. For almost 24 hours yesterday, 0 out of the 3 elevators on property were working. ASL is not motivated to fix the other two elevators. One of which hasn't been working since December, and the other hasn't been working for several months. People have gotten stuck in these elevators so often that I'm genuinely afraid to use them, but I live on a high floor and can't access my door by using the stairs, so they leave me no other choice. Additionally, from roughly August through December of 2023 (yep, three months) there was no hot water in the whole building. The delayed ASL solution to this was to give us limited access to two rooms in the Curtis Hotel to shower. These rooms were not cleaned between users, and were used to accommodate 150+ residents. There were 30 minute time increments, and not offered at times I could reasonably shower before I had to go to work. They did not compensate us for the time our unit was legally uninhabitable. Maintenance work is often marked complete in the tenant portal without a technician addressing the issue, or it will be completed in an incorrect way. My faucet has been leaking since I moved in. I sent in four maintenance requests, and several of them were marked complete without even touching the faucet. As another example, the handle on my shower is installed backwards, and the dishwasher makes a "crack" noise every time you try to close it. Fire safety is an issue. The staff do not know how the fire alarms work, even asking me if I knew how to turn them off when they accidentally triggered them during a routine inspection. Once, when my roommate triggered the alarm, it took four hours and five phone calls from us before they were turned off. No staff even knew the alarms were triggered before we called the emergency line. To conclude, this unit is simply not worth the money, the hassle, or the safety issues. You can find places for less money and fewer roommates that won't risk your safety or your sanity. I can't wait to get out of here this month, and I encourage you to not get stuck living here either.
Just moved here and I go to school near. The manager here, Mark is great. He was able have my lock on my apartment door fixed fast and answers all of my email questions in a timely manner. So happy that management was able to get the pool cleaned and the gym equipment fixed.
I moved in March after the new management group Cardinal took over and I just signed my lease for next year. I love the location, in the heart of downtown, also the amenities are really nice with study rooms of lounge couches by the pools. The building stays clean and quiet. With secure doors, elevators and security at night I feel very safe. Also the staff are so kind and helpful and quiet a few are on site which is really nice if an emergency arises.
The auraria student lofts are the last place you’d want to live. Everything advertised on social media about this place is not what it seems. All they care about is milking your money, not to mention the horrible manager Chris K.
I lived here for two years. Right after Christmas 2017, the hot water heaters broke and weren’t fixed for 3 weeks. We went for that long without being able to shower in hot water or wash anything in hot water. Now, the hot water is shut off again today (April 2018) and will be broken indefinitely. They fined me $150 for my friend spilling peanut butter near the elevator. Terrible place to live, don’t move here. Overpriced, dirty, old, and feels like a dorm.
At the end of a long day in class and working, come home to your relaxing rooftop pool and cabana, fully-equipped gym and fitness classes, and our indoor gaming and multimedia lounge. Complete with study rooms and rooftop barbecue tenant appreciation mingles, you'll always feel right at home. Take advantage of the best in modern urban living, student life and having the space and time to study and create.
