Kendall County is a scenic rural area composed of small communities in a vast agricultural landscape. The eastern part of the county contains parts of the cities of Joliet and Aurora, making eastern Kendall more populous than the rest county. From 2000 to 2009, Kendall was the fastest-growing county in the United States due to its rural charm and close proximity to Chicago. Commuters don’t mind the hour-long commute into the city, and many new housing developments have sprouted up in areas that were once devoted to farming.

Property Ratings at Aurora At Summerfield Apartments
Beware of the hidden fees. It is almost an extra $200-250 add on for the rent . Maintenance is horrible , blinds are very cheap. When we first moved in the apartment was very nasty I always clean when moving into a space but this was a bit much. They care about money they don't care about the community and corporate does not either (that's life). They have an electrical issue you plug in a lamp and it flickers all day. Maintenance is very short staffed I had to hire an outside agency will send a bill once I leave

I’ve been a resident since Sept 2021. The homes are nice be aware there are hidden fees included in the rent. I’ve been having issues with getting rid of squirrels that are crawling and scratching in my ceiling it’s so annoying to hear all day and night. They’ve tried to put up traps that doesn't work. I’ve tried emailing the Director (Lisa) from the corporate office no response from her. A wild life company has came out to assist the squirrels still return, I’m so over at this point. It was mention to me that I could move to another unit my response was will I be compensated for movers that was 3 months ago haven’t heard nothing since. The heating and cooling sucks I’ve had to buy heaters for the winter and a portable a/c in the summer due to poor Ventilation in the unit. Blinds are cheap they break easily was promised new blinds when I moved in still haven’t received them. If it wasn’t for my son in his last year of high school I would move and not renew my lease.

Very nice apartment community. Irene and Allison are professional and very courteous. My requests have always been addressed promptly and professionally. I love my apartment and all of the amenities that it has to offer the residents!
So far our experience at Aurora at Summerfield has been pleasant. The staff has been professional and friendly and our apartment has been clean and comfortable. We are happy with our choice to live here.
Very nice staff; professional and courteous. Nice apartment, quiet and paths to walk your dog. Clean upon move in; close to everything you need
I feel like it is getting better as far as repairing things in the apt. quicker than it used to be. Finding parking can be tricky at times.
Love my new apartment. Very nice area, close to everything you need. Very cozy and nice. Plenty of parking and nice trail to walk the dog. Very happy with my decision. I had a few little things that needed to be addressed in the apartment and it was completed in one day!
Love living here. Thus far my experience has been professional. Nice community. Peaceful place to live
After living here 15 years now Ive been through a couple of different management changes. We were going to move out last year due to the last worst ever management this complex has ever had. But since this new management took over its been much better I now feel the joy that I first felt 15 years ago when we first moved in.
I am always happy with the professionalism of all of the Aurora at Summerfield personel.
It appears that resident concerns are just brushed aside. The upkeep is not great
The office staff friendly, but maintenance service is horrible I am disappointed
Aurora at Summerfield. Its a place to live !!!! Very lovely nice and comfortable
Our family loves living here. Nice and quiet. Nice big rooms.
Mice. I had mice droppings in my apartment at move in. Took 2 weeks for service and the issue wasn’t resolved. I have been promised to have my apartment cleaned. Its been 2 months and nothing has changed. Management is impossible to communicate with. Do not waste your time looking at this property!
Lived here for a year a never had an issue with the rent or maintenance of my apartment it's a great place to live
Great staff the staff makes you feel welcome and keep us in the know and updates us regularly.
In the short time Ive been here, the staff has been extremely helpful and friendly. Made me feel welcomed and at-home right away. The office staff has made my move a very pleasant one.
My air went out on a hot Friday afternoon after hours. I called emergency maintenance. I was called back within 10 minutes and the on call maintenance, had just left the property and was 10 minutes from his home but he came back and fixed my AC.
I would not recommend living here to anyone. The amount that you pay in rent and the service that you receive either through the property management or maintenance are not aligned and neither is the quality of the apartment.
Aurora at Summerfield is very pleasant community. Plenty of parking, very central to many different things like grocery stores and entertainment.
I love the apartment and I have recommended to friends
Maintenance is horrible when is comes to timing. I have submitted multiple tickets for the same issues for over a year.
Great management team. The apartments are nice in size. Good appliances and fairly new. The location is excellent. Close to shop, restaurants and hospital.
I haven't had a working dryer since day 1. Nobody seems to be in a hurry to fix it.
If you're looking at renting apartment, don't pass this complex up. Location is great for commuting to work/anywhere really, as Ogden is a major road that gets you wherever you need to go. Don't let "Aurora" scare you away; the area this complex is in is nice and safe/not in the bad parts. Prices are relatively moderate for the area, in terms of not super expensive but also decently nice. Grounds are gorgeous in the Spring/Summertime and the management is fair. IE, if you pay what you owe, are timely, and communicate, you'll be fine. However, do be aware that the water/sewage/trash bill for my two bedroom apartment was anywhere from the $145-$190/month range. During my tour, I was told that bill would be $100/month at MOST. Also, be aware that units that are right off of Farnsworth or Ogden are LOUD - can hear the cars super clear at all hours. Seems that the walls are thin, however I only had issues with hearing the cars on the roads, and never really my neighbors. All in all, good place to rent, just be aware of the water/sewage/trash bill when accounting for your budget and be cognizant of your unit's location your unit with respect to the major roads surrounding the complex.
The apartments are super nice. The location is perfect, youre right in the middle of everything you might need.
The staff at Aurora at Summerfield were super helpful when it came to finding our first apartment together, especially during the pandemic. We wanted somewhere that was of reasonable price and had a good amount of space to offer us with the amount of items we both own. After looking at other places and seeing what they had to offer, we couldn't get over how Aurora at Summerfield offered all of the things on our wishlist and more while also staying under our budget. We couldn't be happier to call this place home!
I see a very likeable change happening with the new owners. I have been here 6 years and have seen multiple management companies do a less than par job of taking care of a beautiful property. BH Management really seems to care and it's showing. Keep up the good work!
Very poorly ran and horribly remuddled bandages don't fix problems try spending some money on actually taking care of your roach infested garbage dump.
New management here and so far the ground are well kept. Along w the trash area has been well kept as well. Dog friendly and great space in apartments. Just need maintenance to come within a timely manner.
I like the property. For many years, have watched from Rte 34 all the community signage & festive happenings within the the community. Just moved in, so far its good.
Great office /maintenance staff, very helpful.
Since I have moved to Aurora of Summerfield whenever I have had any maintenance issue, the matter is resolved in a timely matter. The maintenance crew has been terrific.
Since I been here its been really comfortable and peaceful
This complex is getting better and better. The previous management didnt care and often deferred maintenance on the property, however, the new management seems to be committed to making Aurora at Summerfield a great place to live. Community activities, competitive amenities, top notch maintenance staff and reasonable rents make this complex a great place to live.
Aurora at Summerfield, is a great place to live l like the fact there's maintenance all ways on the property keeping the areas clean. I know it's not there responsibility to clean up after people pets. But they do, to me that is going beyond there duties to make sure we have a nice and clean environment. Whenever I see one of the maintenance man they always speak, very polite and very helpful. maintenance to me is one of the first things a person in counter living at Aurora Summerfield that what makes it a great place to live.
Love the staff they help us out with everything for our apartments especially my guy in the office !
The previous management had everyone talking about moving out. The new management seems interested in working with people. Will be curious to see if it continues past the renewal period.
The Homes are beautiful and well structured. Fully equipped gym works for me????
Poor upkeep of units had to report to city for unclean dumpster area. Mice in unit and moved to next unit over. Poor effort to exterminate.
Maintenance is unavailable and office is incompetent. Everything breaks and office doesn't care unless you are threatening them.
Avoid this place if at all possible. We have lived here now for 16 years; this coming year will be our last. We had been happy up until ~3 years ago when the The Connor Group took over ownership. Since then it has been a dramatic downhill experience. Surely there are worse places to live but, when you take into account how much they charge per square foot, you can do much better. They are rude, consistently fail to keep their promises, and have demonstrated a failure of ethics. My recommendation to anyone considering renting here is to go elsewhere. If you feel you must consider this place, be wary. Expect unkept promises, expect a trashy environment (literally, trash goes unpicked up), and protect yourself if they come to your apt to do work. Their maintenance staff destroyed over $500 of equipment while performing lighting upgrades. It was an accident, could have happened to anyone. But there was no apology from management (we did get an apology from maintenance staff) and when we pressed for reimbursement they told us we would have to pay for it ourselves. Despite being here for 16 years now, paying rent and utilities on time, and being model residents, we are 'the problem' apparently for complaining about unkept promises and requesting reimbursement for equipment destroyed by their employees. This is a place to be avoided if at all possible; if not possible protect yourself as best you can by getting promises in writing (not that it will do you much good I suspect). Renters beware.
While the apartments look nice, things went downhill fast for us. Since we moved here it has been one thing after another. they find any and every single reason to charge you fees, despite maintenance lacking severely. I complained and complained about our toilets for months and nothing was done until one of them flooded our upstairs about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I told them the second one had a similar issue but maintenance left without doing anything about it. they finally came back today, we still have an issue with what seems to be a rodent or some critter in our walls which they are also supposed to be coming back to look at which we told them about a week or two ago.....however they want to charge you $150 for a late fee if your just one day late. I have regularly paid my rent and because i work nights often times i would leave my check in the box on the first they would get it on the second..this time because the second fell on a Sunday they are telling me its late and refusing to take my payment....DO NOT RENT HERE ITS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE. and all the complaints are true even the ones about spiders in the units
The apartments are very spacious and have lots of storage. The property is maintained well and feels like a safe community. Their pool area is wonderful to enjoy in the warm months. The ladies at the front desk are very friendly and have great customer service! Iwould definitely recommend living here.
I have lived here for almost three months and love my new home. Apartment is spacious with tons of storage space. Very clean upon move in! Love the high ceilings, many windows and bright light. Much quieter than expected and rarely hear neighbors. Have had a couple maintenance issues that were resolved quickly. The office staff is friendly and helpful whenever needed. Walking path runs along the complex for exercise/dog walking.
If I could give this company no stars, believe me I would. Since it became the Connor Group, this whole development has gone completely down hill! Upon a move in, into a bigger apartment that was supposed to be "Move In Ready" below are the examples of how they are NOT move in ready! They attempted to hold the dryer vent on with Painter Tape...talk about a Fire Hazard! The hair globs and paint chunks were in the master shower bath...in the drain, that I had to clean before I could take a shower in my new apartment. The masking tape that is used to cover up holes around windows instead of caulking them allowed rain to come right in on the carpet. A toilet that I could not use due to the seat being broken. If you live here now or have been suckered in to moving in, Please pull out your stove and make sure they cleaned up but also didn't use Duct tape to cover up the hole that's left in the wall, because when it gets cold, there are lots of little critters that like to make their way into your apartment, and well you are pretty much responsible for taking care of the problem because mice do not seem to be much of an issue to the Staff. Since "there's not much they can really do". I got a final bill and was charged $25.00 for the Fridge handle being broken off.... we called to get it fixed and just like a lot of other things "they must have lost it". If they tell you the appliances are stainless steel, they are crazy! Its Stainless steel overlay... which is cheap just like the appliances are easily broken and hard to keep clean. If you like to have your walls matching paint wise, good luck! Our walls were different colors throughout. It takes maintenance at least TWO times to get something right and its fixed poorly...just to get it by. Every year its the same speech of it will get better and we are trying but again its the same people every year who keep screwing up. You have to be sure to take the name of the person you speak with because each person will tell you something different. You pay for electricity, water and gas that you don't even use and half of the amenities DO NOT work. So with that being said and that's not even close to the headaches this place causes.... save yourself the trouble and move in somewhere else.
Very happy I decided on Aurora at Summerfield. The girls the the office are amazing. Super helpful and nice! Work with Chloe and Catherine and you wont regret it!

I just moved in the beginning of July and I’ve been very happy there so far. The apartment itself is big and has lots of storage and closet space. The office staff have been so friendly and helpful. Any maintence requests have been addressed in a timely manner. Very quiet property. I’d recommend these for sure!
