Find a ton of modern conveniences just a short drive, bike, or walk away from your apartment in Indian Creek. Arlene Shoemaker Forest Preserve lets you get away from city life for a while thanks to a nature trail that runs right down the middle of this 59-acre property. The Illinois Prairie Path Trail connects to this land on its north side so you can walk or bike to other parts of your community, including all the way down to Illinois Avenue Park along the Fox River.
As you cross Farnsworth Avenue on the trail, make a right and stop into cozy Ach-N-Lou's Pizza Pub for lunch. The place serves pizza on four styles of crust to hungry residents in much the same way as it did when it opened in 1977. Locals also point to the baked spaghetti and meaty sandwiches to satiate your appetite.
When you want more excitement, head immediately west of Indian Creek to downtown Aurora, or hit the big city by driving 40 miles east to downtown Chicago.

Property Ratings at Aurora Heights
This place is the best! The girls in the office are the best! Asia and her staff are always willing to help out as much as they possibly can. I have been renting from them for over 8 years, and I couldn't be any happier. Whenever there is a maintenance issue, they are always getting back to me in a timely manner. I'm so blessed to work with the staff at Aurora Heights. Especially Asia!
Since moving here its has been great, I've had no issues and move in was fast. The ladies at the office were super friendly (Asia and Shai), answered all my questions/concerns. This is also 1 of the places where maintenance request was done the same day, the gentleman were very efficient.
Management is changed every year. There is a new manager in the office. She is very unprofessional. She’s too young and immature to be in a property manager position. The buildings are very nasty. Do not expect for anything to get fixed in your apartment people leave garbage in the hallways and outside the doors, but most of all they need a levelheaded manager to get the building back into shape parking is horrible. People are parking in the front of the building. You can’t even have visitors come over because there’s no parking on the street because they refuse to give people who pay rent a parking pass so people are forced to park on the street unless they can produce all type of documents for their car . This is a horrible place to live. Do not move here.
Been here 3 years and its going downhill meanwhile the rent is going up. Management is non existence, they're in the office they just not answering phones. They make changes without telling tenants for instance they changed our utility company and my bills are on autopay so the whole time im thinking by bills are paid and they're not. Can never use the fitness room because there is always a problem either the machines are broken , there was a flood ..ect. Washing machines are broken and takes your money. The biggest thing is its dirty , they use to have a cleaning lady and maintenance guys making sure the apartment was kept up but I haven't seen them. So the outside of the building is gross so is the lobby , the stairs, elevator and last week I saw a roach so im definitely getting out of this place asap.
I only lived here a year and am grateful I found another place. Kids constantly running through the hallways. Neighbors are very loud. I had a neighbor having a domestic with her husband outside my bedroom window. Another time I had 2 women fighting right outside my door. No one cleans up after themselves. Trash all over the place; inside and outside. Constant smell of weed in the hallways. People smoking it out in the open all the time. Oh, watch out for the homeless guy that has taken up residence in the hallway. Just a depressing place to live. No one is ever in the office. Phone calls are never returned. I am glad I can afford a lot more to move and to move to a much safer and nicer apartment. Do whatever you can to not move her.
There are roaches everywhere if they tell you it’s clean they’re lying. I bug bombed my unit after there exterminator came through and there are still roaches coming in. They never pick up the phone they want money. There isn’t a fitness center here. Neighbors are less than desirable. While it may seem cheap to live here it’s not and management is trash. Unless you’re facing homelessness look else where save yourself from stress and headaches
I’m been here 3 months mice’s mice’s and roaches and really poor management and I told them about it but all they did was put traps down and didn’t even look for the problem I’m saying this for your own good don’t move here
I’ve been trying to apply for this place for weeks now and I have called every single day trying to speak to someone about my application. They never answer the phone!!! They obviously don’t want renters that bad. If this is how they are I can only imagine how it would be like dealing with renting from them.
You know I was on here looking for some information for a friend and I saw this review below and it is farthest from the truth. The property manager that was here before was a nightmare and never wanted to work with people the leasing consultant always had a sour look on her face now I cannot say that I have blister for a couple years now and Katie and Tess are by far one of the kindest management has been in the office and if it seems like things are getting down this because the previous manager left a huge mess for her to clean up as far as the cops being here every week I don't see that at all and there are two laundry card machines now so I'm not sure what this person below was talking about
Although the management was easy to work with at the beginning, the old property manager got let go and then everything went to hell. Our heat was not turned on until I had to call the police to feel how cold the apartment actually was in late November after calling the office multiple times and leaving voicemails and trying to talk to them in the office but they’re never there. The hours posted for the office are complete bullshit because they come and go as they please instead of actually being open when they’re supposed to. Cars get towed for parking in a “fire line” in the back of the buildings where there is nothing marked anywhere for fire lane except the front of the buildings. They have emergency shut offs for the water about twice a week. The water in the showers is either boiling hot or ice cold. The cops are here at least once a week. The walls are very very thin so you can hear all of your neighbors at any point in the day. The washers and dryers in the basement never work and the way to put money on your laundry card is on a completely different building and now it doesn’t work either. I would not recommend living here at all, it’s a waste of money and I promise you’ll regret it.
The Manager and her assistant are very nice people. I highly recommend Aurora Heights to be a community you will be glad to call your Home.
I have been living here a month and in that short time spanned I have had multiple issues with bugs in my apartment. I have had roaches coming out of the space heater, I have issues where I am being bitten up and I physically went into the office and showed the bites to the office manager Tess. She claims she has done all she can do and went above and beyond for me because she sent a guy to bomb the apartment but there is still bugs. Oh and that I just want new carpet according to Yvonne, I’m just trying to scam them into putting new carpet down. Let’s be clear, I did ask for new carpet when I moved in, however, they told me I could not receive new carpet because it was a year old. Fast forward, Tess said herself that in this building there has been multiple issues with bug infestation even before I came here and so did the maintenance man when he came into my apartment. Now All of a sudden I’m trying to scam them out of some Carpet! When all I asked for was them to fix the problem or move me to a different apartment. RIDICULOUS!
Nice management they been very helpful and nice and the apartment is nice and clean very quiet out here I love it already
I moved in a year ago. The area is nice, quiet and clean. My teens have did an amazing improvement since we've been here. I will be here for awhile.
It has been PURE HELL living here at Aurora Heights Apartments .I have tolerated the the constant ROACHES AND MICE FOR ALMOST 11 LONG MONTHS. In February 2019 my car and other paying tenants CAR'S were TOWED without giving us proper notice to buy a parking sticker. The Property Manager here is very inconsiderate, inconsistent spiteful and unprofessional for the most part land now she decides not to send each tenant a letter as she does when she wants to threaten to shut off your Utilities like paying for water, cooking gas, heat, sewer, trash pickup etc...etc.. The so called security door system advertised online doesn't work! In fact, if you have any visitors come over...you must have them call you on your cell to ask you to come downstairs to let them inside the building. Also, local restaurants refuse to deliver here due to the fear of getting robbed again even in day time. I have never live anywhere that has local restaurants afraid to deliver!!!!! Also, practically every week the POLICE or FBI are at these apartments investigating or arresting someone. I have lived here for almost ONE LONG year unfortunately and the so called fitness center treadmills never work properly... they shut off every 1 or 2 minutes. The so called business center also advertise Computer and printer available for tenants to use. Well there computers have a virus or they never work and you can never print anything., you must forward your private documents to the assistant for her to print your documents and it depends on how the Property Manager feels whether or not she wants to charge you for printing documents on that day. I regret signing an deceptive Lease agreement here for 12 LONG TRAUMATIC MONTHS BUT BY THE GRACE OF ALMIGHTY GOD I'M MOVING NEXT MONTH... LEAVING ALL THIS HELL BEHIND. SHAME ON THE OWNER'S..TRI- UNITED FOR ALWAYS HANGING UP ON YOUR TENANTS WHEN WE CALL YOU TO EXPRESS OUR CONCERNS AND YOU NEVER CALL YOUR TENANTS BACK WHEN WE LEAVE YOU VOICEMAIL MESSAGES.
DO NOT COME HERE they are the worst they will screw you over crazy part is tonite 02/15/2019 I just saw how horrible they are to people they switched tow company’s and had put a sign in the front door let me remind you not a lot of people go towards the front door due because parking is in the back and also I have notice a lot of people don’t check there mail because a lot of people have a P.O. Box so there mail goes there well they have sign there letting people know about the switch but crazy part they didn’t take the time to put letters on there doors to let them know about the switch well people who were visiting and also people who live there they got there car towed it’s crazy how horrible this place can get management is so unprofessional to top it off and the girl who is in the office who does the applications for people coming to rent a apartment is horrible also I can’t believe they will be like this a lot of people broke there lease because they don’t do nothing about anything that goes on in your apartment they don’t plow snow either it’s crazy don’t come here and don’t think it twice it’s a bad place to live I live here and every week I’m bombing this place because of the amount of bugs they have I have complained so many times and they don’t do nothing about it please just stay away and find somewhere else they will rip you off big time.
I have lived here for over 5 years but these are in decline, the laundry is always dirty and the washers and dryers only take the money and never work. In the corridor of my building there is a big black leak in the roof and nobody does anything, the rear entrance always smells bad and dirty. Despite having cameras in the corridors they leave garbage bags and nobody does anything. They need urgent attention.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone living in these apartments. When it snows, the parking lot is never cleaned, until the sun comes out. If you like roaches in your apartment, this is a great place for you. Loud and obnoxious neighbors from 2am-4am. Broken heat, which is stuck on 89 degrees, so you have to leave your windows open to defuse the heat. A lot of police activity, at least twice a week you’re waking up to sirens and red and blue lights out your window. Trust me, don’t make the same mistake I did.
Th Places are very disgrace to people an there families... The office people are jet a bunch of Liars...Don't move Here
Writing a review here is not enough to describe how awful it is. I read these reviews and thought, 'Can't be that bad.' I was wrong. The management is HORRIBLE. Constantly accusing us of false complaints she doesn't even have PROOF OF, Calling a tow truck to remove our car that was rightfully parked. mold literally everywhere, constantly putting off and refusing to fix our broken sink and disgusting fridge that was in that condition before we moved in, then accusing us of causing the damage, and finally, not answering any calls, especially because we want our deposit back, since we're getting kicked out for 'complaints.' Funny Nancy says, yet you enter the building you hear screams from every which apartment, yet we're getting kicked out for /complaints'. It's a blessing we're getting kicked out cause it's unbearable.
Under terrible, TERRIBLE management. I have been ridiculed, harassed, hung up on more then once, neglected, unlawfully held my security deposit, which was rightfully mine by the state of Illinois law, and more!! Yvonne, the Secretary of the leasing office, has the utmost unprofessional, rude and childish behavior, with this snooty demeanour. Simply the most profesionally unattractive and unpleasant staff member I have ever encountered in a comparable environment. I would not recommend leasing here, they don't have your best interest in mind. The prices are raising and most units are not newly renovated. The worst thing this property did was relocate Toni, the old manager of this locations leasing office is great! To sum it up, my experience is based on how mistreated I was from a member of staff by the name of Yvonne, she is a miserable person to work with.
This is an honest review, I moved in during the month of July. I was in disbelief when I moved in due to the condition of the apartment. It looked like the apartment was never cleaned, there was a huge crack in the ceiling, there was mold in the heating closet and the balcony was not secure. I tried to shrug it off and when I brought the crack in the ceiling and the mold to the property manager's attention, she said it was not a "big deal".. Okay. I have now lived there for four months and I must say, you pretty much get what you pay for. It is not extravagant in any way, the kitchen is small, the flooring is wooden and then carpeted so you literally can hear everything your neighbors do. People aren't very considerate, the building I’m in has an elevator, but people are constantly leaving food, wrappers, and garbage in it. The hallways are decent, however they don’t seem to get cleaned much and it constantly smells. Also, don’t dare let guests park in the parking lot or else the car is towed. On the plus side, the apartments are a pretty decent size; they are a bit run down, but still a good size. Office staff is very nice, the property manager seems to be a bit confused and needs to change some of her vocabulary (she told me my dog was an aggressive breed (he’s a jack Russell, Chihuahua mix), when in fact, he just has an aggressive behavior since he is protective), but the leasing agents are very nice. If you are looking for quality, you may want to go somewhere else though.
