Property Ratings at Autumn Run Apartments
The worse place to live ever. They didnt let us see the unit before we moved in. When we moved into the unit we noticed the walls were full of smoke scum and the living room windows were literally falling apart. It ws so bad we had to put plastic over the window. Moved in in Novemeber and they didnt fix the windows until May. The applianes were filthy. The stove wasnt cleaned before we moved in and appeared to have never been cleaned before. The refrigerator had crumbs and so did the drawers and cabinets. Never used the drawers and cabinets when we lived there. The hallway was dirty, the building door didnt lock. The grounds were filthy. Dog poop always everywhere, trash all over the grass and the dumpsters were overfilled with trash that would fly everywhere. Dont let the remodeled leasing office fool you, the units look nothing like that. Also the pool is always out of service. One time they sent out an email stating the pool was closed becasue someone let their dog swim in the pool. But as we passed the office we noticed there were people swimming. I believe they wanted an excuse to close the pool to get it to themeselves for a day or two. The next day they sent out an email saying it was conviently back open. People smoke cigarettes right in front of your window and throw the buds on the ground. Please for your own sanity do not move here. I never planned on resigning a lease but one day they left a letter on the door saying they were not resigning. And dont get me started on their made up lease that looks and sounds like a 10 year old put it together. Please look elsewhere! I dont care how close it is to the expressway and shopping or the metra. It is a terrible place to live!
I loved this complex, maintenance responses fast sometimes same day. I moved due to them not having any two bedrooms available, I would have renewed my lease.
What a great place to live! Whether it’s the immediate staff at the apartment community, or the staff at their corporate office, they have always been very friendly and helpful. Maintenance work has always been completed in a timely manner, in most cases even the same day. The grounds are kept very nice and they are always updating things. We raised our family here and have never been disappointed.
When I moved I did not think I would like it but I love my apartment is very clean and organized and the effective maintenance guys of 5 stars 4 1/2 I would love to invite friends and family of neighbors the school is very well valued the place I love it
Very friendly office staff. Maintenance attend to emergency calls. I really like this place. Its a very nice neighborhood. Shopping centers close by. I recommend this place.
I have mold in my unit and we have mice. The management company does nothing and it is a very unsafe neighborhood.
Management does NOT return calls. You have to go in to the office if you have an issue and I have had many! My account has been wrong numerous times, fp unusable with no word on repairs, gym has 3 working items out of 6, tennis courts are a mess, rude and loud neighbors. Pet owners who do not leash or pick up after their dogs. Ready to go!
If you read this review after you move in then I'm truly sorry. This place is such a dump and the staff here is just terrible. They consistently lie for each other. You can hear everything that happens because the walls are so thin. The people who live here are Ghetto and they blast music and smoke weed all times of the day. Crying babies will drive you up the wall. This place should be shut down. Its worse than government housing. Please dont live here you will hate and regret it
Worst place I have ever lived. The maintenance crew is a joke, have no clue how to fix anything. They literally nailed our window shut bc it kept falling out of its frame. One of the guys ripped the flooring in our kitchen the second day - a year later it's never been fixed. The dishwasher has never worked, despite numerous calls for repairs. The kitchen cabinets are rotted and gross. The "workout center", has broken machines and crappy equipment, it's boiling hot in there and there's never anything to clean with if you do try to use it. The hot tub is usually cold w/out functioning jets, and the pool it's attached to too warm, so probably full of bacteria. Good luck getting ahold of anybody in the office bc even during office hours, they rarely have the door open and never answer the phone/return calls. They keep a large, unleashed pitbull in the office and are extremely unprofessional. The staff has changed at least 4 times in a year and no one ever knows what's going on. The only way you can pay rent is an app that malfunctions, and if you pay at the office so you don't get a $25 late fee, you're forced to pay a $10 fee. On top of that, you have to pay your water/trash/sewer through the complex, but it's a bill that *they* give you, however they hardly ever give you that bill until you owe hundreds of dollars and then they threaten to evict you if you don't pay it within five days. The tennis courts are cracked, full of weeds, and have no nets. There are dog clean-up stations but never have baggies in the containers. Worst place to live EVER. RUN, run away fast, and don't look back!
My Experience at Autumn Run: After my fiancé and I had finished our tour at Autumn Run Apartments in Naperville, we thought we were getting a good deal. However, red flags started from the very moment after we filled out the application and didn’t end as we are currently living this nightmare. Prior To Moving In The employee that no longer works there, repeatedly gave us unguided information during the entire process from when our paperwork was sent to the corporate office to signing the lease. She had said we would hear back something by the end of the week. The communication from the corporate office to the Apartment complexes is not up to anyone’s standards. Moving In We didn’t go into our apartment once we signed our lease which was the biggest mistake we could have made. The employee said that we could move in the weekend before our lease started, which was only two days from when our lease actually started. Upon arrival, the maintenance crew was completely unaware of this. As we waited next to our moving truck with all of our belongings, the maintenance manager finally and reluctantly gave us our keys. The first thing he said to us was, “Go in and write down any problems. We aren’t building you a house, remember that.” Red flag and we were extremely worried to go in. They knew that the apartments were subpar but we proceeded into our new home regardless. After moving in and getting several things unpacked that we would need to live, we went around the apartment and wrote down things. They include: 1. Light was out in Kitchen 2. Mold in the bathroom 3. Tubs needed to be caulked or else mold would start to grow in tile 4. Kitchen cabinets needed to be redone because the floors were rotting out of them 5. Broken toilet 6. Tubs would not drain 7. Toilets flushed extremely slow 8. The deadbolt was broken 9. Vinyl was scratched in kitchen floor I know this place looks nice on the outside and has a great rate because it’s expensive to live up here, it is not worth the trouble, frustration, negativity, and complete helplessness that there is nothing you can do to better your situation. Do yourself a favor and do not rent here. Pay a little extra and go to somewhere where they value your residency. I would add about 6 more pages but thought I’d cut this down into the short version. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!!!! MOVE ON. YOU WILL THANK ME!!!!
I can only imagine that positive reviews are being left by Sierra Realty & Management (Autumn Run's company) and not real tenants. THIS IS NOT A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE! Rent statements are incorrect every month and have been for at least a year. You never know what to pay or what fees are being assessed against you until it's too late. You're then left fighting with management over late fees & penalties that never belonged to you. There are also fees now to process rent payments plus a $10 penalty if you try to write a check. The maintenance staff is rude, and leasing agents in the office will not submit maintenance requests in a timely manner. If maintenance ever does arrive, they may leave before the work is completed and leave a mess for the tenant to clean up. Repairs are typically a "quick fix" and will require several attempts before you simply give up and fix it yourself. The exterior--trash & landscaping--is not maintained regularly, and debris from unfinished building projects has accumulated for years on the premises...FOR YEARS! It might help if the property manager ever left Skokie, IL to oversee this place firsthand. Unfortunately, that isn't a priority, and the lackluster employees in the office sit idle while tenants lives are made unnecessarily chaotic. Lastly, the office staff is remarkably unprofessional and petty. You aren't a tenant: you are either a friend or an enemy. If you get labeled as the latter, be prepared to have your tenant privileges stripped and your needs compromised. The most upsetting thing is that you can pay your rent on-time and still feel bullied because--at Autumn Run Apartments--you have NO rights. They will remind you that this is private property, and you don't matter. Please save yourself the headache--DON'T RENT HERE!
I have resided at Autumn Run Apartments for a few years, and I am very pleased with my decision to stay here. Foremost, the Autumn Run staff members are fantastic individuals who are very friendly, kind, and supportive. They are always available to support and assist you with any inquiries about the maintenance, rent, etc. Both staff members are wonderful individuals! Overall, the apartment complex has been very well maintained by the maintenance staff. I have not had any issues while residing at Autumn Run; the neighbors are friendly and this place truly feels like a family residential area.
The living spaces are decent however, I agree with other reviews that speak of the administration. You're pretty much on your own once you move in as far as getting anything fixed. And the tennis court is completely unusable with no nets. Also, after leaving 45 days past still with no return of my security deposit. Had to call over and over just to talk to anyone to get them to do anything. Still, haven't received it after 51 days and waiting. Enter at your own risk..
I love living here and I'm actually kind of surprised about the other reviews. Ive been at Autumn Run 6 months and honestly I've been very happy with it. It's quiet, the other tenants are respectful and polite. I don't see the folks in my building much. Very dog friendly community and doggie bags offered at every dumpster. Most people clean up after their pets. I liked my apt because the ceilings were high, I loved the natural light from the skylights and I liked not having a box shaped apt. THe indoor/outdoor pool is nice to have although I couldn't figure out when the outdoor pool was actually open. I will agree with the reviews indicating that the workout room sucks because, it does. The majority of the machines don't work and I'm not hopeful they'll be repaired. That said, maintenance in my apt has been fast and efficient and the property manager is a great person who is really very helpful and customer service oriented. For the price, I think this is a solid place to live.
The office workers at Autumn Run treat the tenants terribly. They do not answer calls to the office, it takes them a few asks to put in a work order, they are hardly in the office during the posted hours, and they are not friendly to tenants at all. In addition to all of this, they tried to keep my security deposit from me when I moved out when there was no damage to the apartment. They are also very unorganized when it comes to billing tenants for rent (they threatened to evict me twice because of "late payments" when I had not been billed yet for the month). In summary, these two office workers ruined the entire experience of living at Autumn Run. If the realty company wants any hope of keeping tenants, they would be wise to replace the administration. I really like the apartment that I lived in and enjoyed the amenities, but I ended up leaving the complex only because of the terrible administration.
The office manager on site sits in the office with his unleashed nor muzzled pitbull. Very LAX ATTITUDE towards everything. My neighbor was assaulted by the neighbor upstairs and that particular neighbor has had police presence here more than once and they have not been evicted. We all walk on eggshells(3 units) because of one neighbor that this management company won't take care of.
I love this apartment. Recently staff was changed to new management. But they are still kind and helpful. Grass is always mowed. And they have a tennis, racquetball, and volleyball court for you to use. Also a gym and indoor and outdoor pool. Indoor hottubs the best. Right now they are fixing the roofs before winter. I feel like they are always on top of everything. One thing I dislike is the parking in front of my building. If your not home in time your most likely not going to get a close enough to spot. But all the other buildings do have good parking. It's just a specific building. Other than that this apartment does feature a washer and dryer and we all know how rare that is. And best of all it is pet friendly. I would recommend living here to anybody.
