Property Ratings at Autumn Village
Unlikely to any families. Maybe single friends who enjoy being price gouged or who enjoy being smoked out of their “smoke free” environment from the neighbors huffing pot and cigarettes as much as possible.
There is a lot of background noise, in addition to the noise of people leaving for work in the middle of the night, etc. From what other people I know have said, there are quieter places to live, and smaller complexes would have fewer people to make noise in them. Also, the bedrooms are located by the parking lot, so we get to hear everything going on there.
It is nice and quiet. The upkeep of the individual buildings could be better. 2201 had the adjust the stairwell shortly after I moved in and the indoor outdoor carpeting was not replaced. Also the columns on the steps are falling apart at the base
I would not recommend this complex to anyone. This complex is over priced, and not 1 single thing to do here except look at Ducks, Geese, Squirrels, Tree's and leaves. This place should be a Senior Citizen Complex with a Gate around the propery. Or they should make this place to where no children. There's nothing for any child to do, NOTHING !!!!
even though I did not get a response i still think the apartments and community are lovely.
Some of the units are are older, though slowly being renovated, and people still let their dogs defecate wherever. Living on the bottom floor is absurdly loud.
I would recommend because it is very simple and out of the way. Quiet enough, peaceful. Seems crime free. I would hesitate because it does seem expensive for what you get. I don't need nice stuff, so having an old unit, chipped up parking lots, and relatively little plant life does not bother me.
Some of the units are are older, though slowly being renovated, and people still let their dogs defecate wherever. Living on the bottom floor is absurdly loud.
Older buildings, not very soundproofed. I can literally hear my upstairs neighbor rolling over in bed at night. Plumbing backs up a lot; can never just walk away after flushing the toilet. I know some units are still being renovated but appliances/lighting and cabinets are outdated, peeling and not very attractive.
It's quiet and everyone is nice and respectful to each other (that I've noticed there are police in the complex more than I'd like, but nothing seems to get too out of hand.
No safe place for children to play (only in the road where nobody follows the speed limit and there are several blind areas). Maintenance does not respond and/or always have a working emergency phone and/or do anything other than glance around and leave (when they do respond). Management supports and encourages nastiness between neighbors and rewards people for lying about others, filing false complaints (while they ignore legitimate ones), and/or verbally assaulting minors. Pests. Entire buildings so infested people cannot cook and/or eat in their own homes for weeks/months. Noise. The walkways echo and persons hang out there (who do not live in the same building) in the very early mornings or late at night and purposely antagonize persons that they know work odd hours and/or their pets (also, beware, apparently, leash laws only apply to you....not to your neighbors). To be short...run, run far, run fast!!
I lived at Autumn Village apartments for 2 years. I was looking for a place that was pet friendly and this is it. The grounds are kept nice, the 1-bedroom apartment was nice size for a single person. I love the balcony and quiet in the evenings. My only complaint is the fireplaces were not cleaned and in the two years I was there, there were 2 possible chimney fires in other buildings. I stopped using my fireplace and didn't miss it at all, but others might. I had no problem with maintenance. I placed a request and they were there in 24 hours, management (both previous and current) contacted me that very day I placed the request. The complex is older, but if you want a quiet place to sleep and rest and just be home, this is a lovely place.
This is not a good place to live for a family. There is nothing for kids to do or play. They raise the rent every year. We have been here for 5 years and we have to move they made it to expenseve to live here. We are a low income family that we do not have the money to move but what can we do. They are a big company they can do what they want. They do not care about other people. Can we get help to stay here. And to get lower rent.
They do not keep maintenance appointments which they leave to the tensnts to chase them for weeks of attempting to schedule and reschedule and reschedule....and even when you are promised times they dont bother to call when they decide not to come (who cares about your time or lost wages, right?). Their prices are insanely high for rent, poor quality of buildings, horrible parking, and the garbage issue is too irritating to discuss..... RUN AWAY!!!
My husband and I moved to the area and had less than 48 hours to find a place to live (short-term move for a contractor job!). We weren't familiar with the Tacoma area at all, but came across Autumn Village in our online search and thought we'd take a look. The apartments were built in the late 1980s and minor updates have been completed since then, but the great part about these apartments are the unique layouts, all of their apartments are a great size (even the one bedroom units), the area is next to a farm field so it's very quiet and pretty, and each apartment building has a max of four units per building, so you feel like you're in more of a condo or townhome. The downside is the walls and floors are a bit thin and the kitchens and bathrooms are outdated, but if you can get past the cosmetic issues and thin walls and windows, these are a great value for in a quiet neighborhood. Management recently changed - the previous manager was very friendly, flexible, and always available, yet the new manager has yet to show that they are the same way. They are very pet-friendly. No amenities (no gym, pool, clubhouse, etc. but you save money overall by not having them). No garages either, but ample parking - some even reserved. Overall, Autumn Village is an average, safe place to call home for a fair price.
