A mere six miles east of Huntsville, University/Research Park hosts one of the world's leading science and technology business parks. Central to the area's economy, Cummings Research Park brings together Fortune 500 companies and U.S. space and defense agencies with the best and brightest from local universities to create a premier center for research and technology. Townhomes and condos form the bulk of the rentals, meaning there’s something for families, students, and professionals alike.
This area has become a research hub for both government agencies such as NASA as well as private corporations including Lockheed and IBM. The abundance of research jobs in addition to the local educational institutions created the need for housing to accommodate the workers, students, and educators.

Property Ratings at Autumn Wood Apartments
This is quite possibly the worst apartment in madison county. The on-site management is condescending and all around not pleasant. The maintenance will come in without knocking an have gone through our fridge. The main property management Delvew is impossible to get ahold of and if you do they aren't any help. there are plenty of other apartments for just a little more but will save you in the long run.
I hate that I have to even leave a star. We lived here for over 4 years. We dealt with so many issues like things being half-way fixed, water being shut off multiple times a month with zero notice, no maintenance, mold infested ac unit, rotting patio roof, and to top it off, we got all the unwanted gossip about a vast majority of the other tenants from Laura. It was honestly embarrassing to stand out in the parking lot having to entertain their degrading comments about certain tenants and who was on a “fixed income”.. Even telling us which renters had mental problems, which in my opinion is out right disgusting that she disregard someone’s mental health like that. They sucked us in, made us feel so welcomed loved and we fell for it. We recently built a house and the week before we moved, Laura came into our unit, looked around and said we were good and that we would be getting a check back from them. We offered to deep clean the carpets, knowing we had pets but she was hard pressed on us NOT doing so. We were given a 10 gallon bucket of paint shortly after moving in and was told to paint the cabinets and whatever else we wanted b/c they would be redoing them when we moved out. Well, jokes on us I guess.. They just sent us a bill (over $1300) for “damages” and we were totally blindsided b/c when my wife dropped the keys off they said nothing to her about any damages again stated that we would be getting a check from them. Rather than telling us about any damages, Laura just proceeded in tears talking about personal issues and even cried on my wife’s shoulder. Good riddance and good luck to anyone moving here.. I also regret referring a friend to them.
I have lived here for several years and it is the best little community to live in. The girls in the office are super nice. They do not go up on my rent every year, which is probably the reason they are always full. I highly recommend Autumn Wood if you are looking for comfort and value.
Maintenance was horrible since day 1. The office managers are liars and sneaky. The air and heat doesn’t work on the other half of the roommate style apartments. They willl tell u they can’t do anything about it and then tell you to go buy a fan or heater...with your own money. My room got so hot and humid during the summer that my bed ended up molding and I had to get rid of it. I use to get so sick when I stay there and now I see why. The apartments are also over priced for what they are actually worth. My opinion...don’t move there but if you’re desperate have at it
I have been staying here at Autumn Wood for 5 years , and it's like home away from home, the manager and leasing agent i really like them when you come to office they really greet you, making you feel welcome, plus i like the fact they stick to their rules to keep everybody safe.
