Thorndyke is a quiet, residential neighborhood near several industrial and commercial areas. The community is home to Thorndyke Elementary School, making it a top choice for many young families and educators. Thorndyke is bordered on the south by Highway 518, to the north by South 144th Street, to the west by Tukwila International Boulevard, and to the east by Interstate 5. Downtown Seattle is about 10 miles north of the community, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is roughly two miles west.
While some Thorndyke residents commute into nearby Seattle for work, Tukwila is considered an industrial hub.

Property Ratings at Avana at South Station
The leasing office is open and friendly. My ability to contact them for work is orders is simple and modern. My only real complaint is the ant swarm that got to my room before me.

I truly love living here. I don't drive so it's nice that I'm on the bus line and everything is just a bus ride away. My goal was to move closer to work.

Hi there, thank you so much for your positive comments about Avana at South Station! If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. Have an awesome day!
The apartment buildings have no security on entry and each apartment is only equipped with one dead bolt. The parking is horrendous and the laundry facilities are a joke - worse than a third-rate college dormitory. The worst part is that the management has no respect for residents. There have been nearly a dozen days in the past few months where the water has been shut off for extended periods of time. The best they do is shove a piece of paper on your door around 3p the day before - if they do that at all. It's really awesome waking up on a Saturday without any water and absolutely no warning (no email, note, etc). I really suggest looking elsewhere.

This place Sucks Do Not for Any Reason Even Think of moving here! For the price this place is trash the washing machines are never working. I have a two bedroom apartment the master bedroom has been out of electricity for two weeks and they still have to fix it. When maintenance did come he checked one thing and left they are so lazy and unprofessional here. I would only move here if it was your last choice other than that avoid this place it truly sucks I've lived all over the country and this is the Crappiest complex i have ever lived in. The people in the office will never pick up the phone and when i went to talk to them for the 5th time that i need my power fixed they just said ohh i thought someone had already gone over and fixed it. Screw this place don't come here The office people suck and are no where near professional.
I've lived at this property for 2 1/2 years and it sucks, the 1 and only good thing about the property is that it is very close to all shopping , transit, and the airport THATS IT. The apartments are way over priced, cheap fixtures, mold, moldy smells, not enough parking for the size of the complex and in order to get a good parking place near your apartment you need to pay for a space which is an additional $25 a month,no security cars are constantly getting broken into, the gym is only open when the leasing office is open from 9am to 5pm which makes absolutely no sense when you have the majority of people working during the day. They have no problem inconveniencing tents, our mail boxes where getting broken into on a regular basis so they did put new mail boxes in and they said they would be ready for use in about a week or two well it took 2 months and all tents had to take time to go the post office and wait for them to find your mail ridicules. All in all this complex is NOT worth the money they are charging for these small one bedrooms. I'm out when my lease is up.
They apartments at the Boulevard at South Station are not worth the current rate. Currently they are renting out studios, that is 450sq ft. for 995 dollars. There is no washer and dryer. Coin operated laundry that you have to have a key to get into. Laundry machines that are constantly breaking down. I have lived there three years: Twice a year the building wide fire alarms go off in the middle of the night. It takes the fire department about half an hour to get there. The apartment buildings all have flood damage do to shoddy plumbing. Mold is prevalent throughout every building do to cheap construction of window seals and door frames. The wiring in every building is suspect and is probably not up-to-code. No guaranteed parking either. The only saving grace about this complex is that it is a less than ten minute bus ride to SeaTac International Airport.
Pros: good neighbors, clean compound, quite, and close to everything. Cons: prices keep going up and no washer/dryer in all unit, only selected apt.
Well I can say you are conviently located close to the airport, south enter mall, as well as light rail. However I think the rental rates are simply too high for the amount of space you have. 500-600 square feet got a 1 bedroom. Also if you do not sign a year lease, then you are paying over $1000 a month. Not including parking. Also the apartments do not offer secure entry in to units, which often have solicitors! All and all I rate it a 3
My husband and I relocated last March in Seattle and went about viewing properties. We drove to a lot of areas like Renton, Burien, Seatac, etc for two weeks until we came to the Boulevard at the Southstation. The moment we drove into the apartment complex, we felt that this was the one! During that time though they did not have available one bedroom apartment and so we had to check [again] other properties. I told my husband that I do not want any other but the Boulevard. So we just prayed that something will immediately be available soon, and lo! our prayers were answered, the very pretty and accommodating Alicia at the admin office was soo nice and helpful she notified us of the available unit and the paperwork and online registration were all a breeze, She helped us in all the things we needed especially getting our accounts set up and contact numbers of other service providers. The apartment complex has a mini clubhouse or Cabana that can accommodate guests for evening bbq's and parties and there's a swimming pool, business center and exercise room too!. Our apartment has a balcony where me and hubby can watch birds and squirrels. The apartment complex is within walking distance to the nicest mall so far that I have seen in Seattle which practically has everything! You will love this place as we did =)
My boyfriend and I just renewed our lease at this apartment complex because simply it's amazing. You get a great value for your money, it's close to every major freeway and the staff is excellent! Every problem we have had (majority of which have been normal wear and tear maintenance issues), gets solved right away. The staff is quick to respond to any emails and maintenance always comes out extremely quickly! The neighbors are really friendly, especially if you have an animal. All the children in the complex will soon know you by your pets name haha. We love it here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking!
