Property Ratings at Avenue 8
Muy buena hubicacion y se vive muy tranquilo buen servicio
The apartment is full of cockroaches. They have fumigated but the cockroaches do not decrease. After 6:00 pm there is no hot water in the apartment.
Not a place I would recommend for the cost. Staff and workers are nice but nice doesn't fix the problems
Do you want to live in a place that's rude to their residents and won't return any of your calls or emails even if they are urgent? Then this is the place for you.
So far it's been great the people are very accommodating and I am comfortable here
I do not recommend living here. I would be embarrassed to recommend someone to live in these apartments because they are not helpful or friendly when requesting a repair and they also do not have a solution regarding the appearance of cockroaches in the apartments.
Avenue 8 needs improvements in which it would make it a better place. Like communication with the office it usually takes a couple days for a response via phone. When I call to to see if there could turn on some hot water there’s always an issue with their main waterline. The office is not that attentive to the residents only perhaps via email.
So let me start with the good! The apartment is actually a really nice size for the price, nice size bedrooms and bathrooms living room and dining room as a good amount of space as well nice overall layout big closets. For the apartment being in the heart of Mesa the complex is very quiet day and night, we have only seen police and the fire apartment less than 3 times also we lived in the back side of the apartment where I believe the most action would happen and we had no crime. Ok now to the bad 1st when moving in our apartment was filthy, baby roaches all over the floor, our mirrors in the bathroom were covered in scratches, our carpets had not been vacuumed or cleaned in months, and they gave us our keys and didn’t communicate anything else.We were very desperate for an apartment so we cleaned it ourselves There is a roach issue, we found that once we moved in, kept things very clean, and did our own spray every couple of months we would see 1 or 2 a month, we were not ever made aware of pest control thru maintenance. When we did start to use our air conditioner it was leaking aggressively I contacted maintenance several times as well as the office due to my concern with water damage and possible mold, we had someone come out and change the filter once and that was it. I demanded an HVAC professional due to the amount of water and really due to the concern for mold and was refused due to it being covid( this happened during March-july). I stopped pushing this issue purchased a heavy duty all weather mat and called it a day. Out of several maintenance requests that I have opened 3 have been worked one was the smoke detector , 1 was the filter in the air conditioner and 1 was due to the FRONT DOOR KNOB COMING OFF not allowing me to leave my apt. There are things broken all over the apartment and maintenance doesn’t come out No one from the office will answer the phone, I have never been in the office or the clubhouse you see pictures of online The gate is never closed it’s open 24/7 , Both pools have been closed since we moved in( due to covid) but the water is so nasty by now they should drain it and deep clean it before they decide to open them back up.There is a southwest gate that is broken and never opened so don’t count on that. The final issue that is really the main reason why we are moving is that our apartment has not had constant hot water since December. I have been taking daily Luke warm showers at best
If you care about things like hot water, working fire alarms, air filters, pest control, or a good night's sleep, you should avoid this property like the plague. After living there for a year, I can confidently state that it is not only the most poorly maintained facility I've ever lived in, but also has the least helpful and most disrespectful staff I've ever encountered. Expect service requests to take up to 6 months to be completed, even if you follow up with the office. Speaking of the office, there isn't one. Not one with staff in it at least. Everything is done remotely, and the staff is absolutely awful at responding to communications. The residents are loud, and there is a snack cart that drives around every day honking its horn, meaning peaceful sleep is out of the question. I paid for and was promised access to amenities like a pool and a fitness center, neither of which were available for the entire year that I stayed there. Our apartment had an intense roach problem that we had to solve ourselves because they wouldn't respond to us about having an exterminator come in. The apartment that we moved into was clearly not checked by the staff prior to our move in: our fire alarms were disconnected, we had no filter in our main air vent, and there was a massive hole in the ceiling leaking water into one of the bedrooms, not to mention the dryer vent not being properly secured, and a rusty, disgusting hole in our bathroom sink that housed bugs. All in all, it's an uncomfortable space with frequent water shortages, pest problems, poor safety measures, and a remote staff that is unresponsive and rude to its residents. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Your money is best spent literally anywhere else.
Pros: - Apartment is pretty spacious for the price - never had an issue with any of my neighbors Cons: - My main issue is with the office staff. If they don't outright ignore you they treat you like garbage for expecting them to do their job. They don't respond to emails or phone calls. They will close the office randomly and don't adhere to the posted office hours. - Nothing ever gets fixed. We had a maintence issue that came to our attention a few days after moving in and no matter how many times we put in service orders it was never fixed or even acknowledged that we had contacted them. - lots of bugs - the landscaping people with blow debris everywhere including your patio and few times into out apartment when we had the door open to bring in groceries
Pro: Good Location(as far as distance to anywhere you want to go) and not a bad price. Well that was easy now lets get to the Cons Cons: Terrible maintenance wait times(who god forbid you have a dog) and here is why. I don't know about you but I don't like locking my dog up in an apartment bedroom for weeks while I am at work while waiting for maintenance to finally address leaks that have been "fixed" 5 or 6 times now. I used to ask them to give me a day notice and they would tell call me and inform me that they were coming in. But those days gone for some reason. Next Con: If they need you to do anything you will get a days notice max. They are the best at procrastinating but expect you to jump when asked immediately. Skip this place, I count the days til my lease is up and I can finally move into a house.
This place is infested with roaches! No hot water in the winter! And the cupboards are covered in mold! I have had bad respiratory problems since I moved in because of the mold and the office refuses to do anything about it! Run as far away from this place as you can!!

To start the apartment they tried to get us to move in on a different date because they Didn't finish fixing the apartment, when we saw the inside there was damages everywhere. Water damages half patched roof, the cabnets are not instalbed right so they do not close. I was okay with all of this small fixes. But later that night we saw 5 or 6 roaches! The first night! The places is infected I have tried everything they still come back. The women in the office did not act suprised when we told her either. We are not renewing trying to get out now.
???? bad servicie and bed bugs everywhere , not worth it
I live in a molded apartment, I have complained to the office manager and nothing has been done. The roof is leaking. Every time it rains I have to put buckets in certain areas due to peaks. I have complained to city of Mesa and nothing has been done. I am going to take it to Fox News AZ it’s like people like being on TV before any thing is taken seriously. Rain has destroyed most of my property in the storage and it’s a back and forth between insurance and the apartment. Please don’t rent here.
Don't move here if you are someone who enjoys an office staff that actually cares about you. In the year and a half that I have been here I have been harassed by the maintenance supervisor when I was 8 months pregnant, I have had a roach infestation, I have been completely disregarded by the staff and I still have open work order from the day I moved in. I have only actually had anyone completing a work order twice. This place is a nightmare. When you have a concern or a complaint Monica, the manager, will never try to empathize with you, she will immediately tell you that's she's not liable for what her employees do. If she upsets you, it's not her fault and she will start to fine you for everything she can think of, even if you're never late on rent and even overpay most months! And if all of that isn't bad enough there is a dog with rabies somewhere in the complex that no one seems to care about finding, and there are constantly unleashed dogs running around. I will never make the mistake of renewing here again.
Unhappy and Hurt Management neglected to repair leaking roofing and caused serious mold in my unit. Took 8 month's of complaining and a letter from my attorney to correct problem. Don't recommend Avenue 8 as a place for a home. Be aware!! Always document your issue's. Best luck...
I should have known the day I was supposed to move in, I paid my deposit and had everything in order, I arrive in my move in date and there’s a Temp in the office who doesn’t have access to my keys, luckily I wasn’t going to start moving in until the next day but still annoying. Throughout my lease every maintence issue I’ve had required me to follow up with the office at least 2x plus times before the issues were addressed. The first issue was my garbage disposal, it broke 2x during my time and it took a week each time it needed replacement stinking my entire apartment. Dish washer broke, took about 2 weeks for that to be replaced. Now I’m dealing with an entirely different issues, Aug 9th there was a huge storm that caused my sons ceiling to open and let water enter I called the office and they adv they wouldn’t be able to get to it until Aug 15th, it’s now Aug 20th and nothing has been done. I called the office almost daily regarding the issue but the staff is impossible to get ahold of and no one returns messages. My son has been forced to sleep in my room as his room now smells of mildew. Luckily I will be out of here in less than a month. I would not recommend these apartments.

If you are looking for somewhere to call home and feel like it’s home, don’t move to this place. I would not recommend this apartment to Satan even though I hate him with all that’s in me. Just to tell u how bad this place is. If you don’t believe in reviews, you better start believing in them. Don’t learn the hard way like I did.

Roaches, Roaches,Roaches everywhere no matter what you do management is horrible I really regret I did not check reviews before moving here I never have company I'm afraid roaches will come out I have 8 months left I can't wait to get out of here. I have been so tempted to call the health department
Immediately after I moved into Avenue 8 Apts. in Mesa I noticed water leaking from the HVAC, the washer was broken, It was a week before they got started and both projects lingered with multiple call-backs. Recently, the guest bathroom had a significant water leak from the tub spout and it took a month before it was fixed. Right after that leak, the AC started dripping water again and it's still not fixed after multiple (5 or 6) requests; they routinely close requests without work being done. This happened when the built-in microwave, which is listed as an amenity, broke and when I pointed this out, the property manager reacted by having maintenance dismantle the built-in microwave and replace it with an oven hood, because I complained about it being closed and still broken! By far the water leak from AC is a major concern, it's chronic and there's visible mold. The staff is unfriendly and completely insensitive to the needs of it's residents, I would not recommend Avenue 8 Apts. period.
I CANNOT stand living in these apartments. I moved in on May 19th of 2016 and I'm sick to my stomach everyday I leave work to go home. Management is terrible. Maintenance never shows up when you set appointments. When they finally show up (if they ever do) they say they'll be right back with a part to fix and never come back, never call or even email for courtesy. I have holes in counters that haven't been fixed since the day I moved it. I wrote a two page hand written letter to management and was banned from the office. My sinks are loose and they leak, I have one closet mirror door when there is supposed to be two of them. I am counting the days until I can move out of here. The cops have been to my home 3 times because the neighbor complained about noise from my apartment when I wasn't even home. Days later I had an eviction warning from the office. This place is the biggest joke and is terrible. When you try to call the office and set up for maintenance, they either hang up on you or they don't even answer. I could continue stating how bad of an apartment complex this is but I'd rather not beat a dead horse. Just do yourself a favor and DO NOT move here.
I am a very happy individual. You know why? Its because I no longer live at Avenue 8 Apartments. Despite doing my best to keeping a spotless apartment, there are roaches everywhere. No matter what you do, its a disgusting place to live. The problem is that there is constant water leaks all over the property, including internal leaks in the apartments(at least in my case, and neighbors). They used an outdated boiler system that supplies the entire complex with hot water that was always subject to issues(had many cold showers living there). It also does not help that you have neighbors who keep dirty apartments as well. Put all of this together you have breeding grounds for roaches. For what its worth, you can do WAY better for the price they are asking for. Please, trust me.
This apartments are full of roaches and animals even if you keep clean at all times. Neighbors are always yelling and had to call the police two times due to gun shots!! I'm glad my contract was over and moved out of there in a heart beat! Manager is really rude also.
It's a great place to live . It's quiet clean and the staff is friendly
