Rising out of the prairies and cornfields of the heartland, Omaha serves as a cultural wellspring and economic powerhouse for the region. Downtown has seen a lot of development in recent years, and now serves up a huge selection of trendy shopping, dining, and entertainment, particularly around the Old Market; the Blackstone neighborhood has also emerged as a new hotspot for adventurous restauranteurs and hip nightlife. The robust live music scene in Omaha is one of the city’s worst-kept secrets, with national publications singing the praises of popular venues like the Waiting Room and the annual Maha Music Festival at Stinson Park.
Omaha is serious about college sports – the University of Nebraska’s Cornhuskers are hometown heroes, and the city is the longtime home to the College World Series every summer.

Property Ratings at The Avenue apartments
Lived at the apartments for 4 years exactly. At first I thought it was okay. I didn't like the fact that you had to pay $90 every summer to rent an air conditioner but it was something I knew I had to do. My car was side swiped outside in the parking lot shortly after I had been there 2 years so I paid $45 extra to park in the parking garage. So let me tell you about the parking garage....Half of the parking spaces have holes above so when it rained or snowed your car still got wet. I had never seen them clean the parking garage the whole time I was there. There were several abandoned cars taking up space and trash along the walls of the garage. The door that went to the garage was supposed to be secure and you had to badge in to enter but after a cpl months of me parking there anyone that lived in the building could access the garage by just opening it. The upkeep of the building and staff working there slowly began to get worse and worse. I started noticing Roaches on the walls in the hallway playing tag and dead bedbug carcasses in the hallway. The hallways were often dimly lit because the staff there started refusing to replace light bulbs. My particular hallway smelled like old dried up urine. It was awful. You knew that maintenance knew because they would try to clean the carpet or spray some sweet smelling aerosols but the old urine smell never went away in 4 years. Maintenance was awful. If you called for something to be serviced they would fix it when they felt like fixing it or depending on what it was, it might not ever get fixed. The final straw though was when I started seeing bed bugs in the carpeted elevator on the walls. No sooner after I started seeing them, I started seeing them in my apartment. After trying to spray myself and bomb my apartment I finally ended up throwing several items of furniture in the trash and decided that I was leaving. I gave them 28 days notice but they kept my deposit because they said it was not 30. Good riddens anyways. Glad to be out of there. Take my advice DO NOT MOVE HERE you'll regret it.
When I live in the Avenue Apt. #506, I really enjoyed the living experience, that was until I found roaches coming from the guys apartment next door to me and then in my apartment. I did notify management and after nothing was done to correct the problem, I moved. I did give them a one month notice as well as forfeited my deposit, but I was not living with roaches. I did not have any when I came and I was not going to take any with me when I left.
