Directly across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., Arlington is less a suburb than an extension of the nation’s capital. It’s the home of the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, with a number of waterfront parks offering beautiful views across the river to the National Mall.
The community provides a wide range of living options, from apartments, townhomes, and duplexes to condos and houses. A major reason for Arlington’s popularity is that there is so much to do. Washington may be packed with monuments, museums, and other sightseeing landmarks, but Arlington holds the advantage when it comes to the more day-to-day shopping, dining, entertainment, and nightlife.
You’ll have several options for getting around town or into D.C., whether you choose to drive, take the Metro, or ride your bike — Arlington has earned a silver rating from the League of American Bicyclists.

Property Ratings at Avery Row
Absolutely horrible place to live. Noise is 24/7 from Arlington Blvd even with windows closed. Noise from upper and lower neighbours. Fitness centre is poorly equipped and dirty, with insects and foul smells, never cleaned, piped in elevator music is continual. TVs in all public areas don't work, window blinds in public and private areas are always filthy and broken. They change the electronic entry codes without notice and count on spending nights in the hallway outside your door. Astoundingly bad management and turnover is very high, manager is never there, package system is broken, computer downstairs doesn't work, rent way too high for what you get. They add on charges for anything to make money off of tenants. Very high turnover of residents. Truly, stay away!
The apartments and amenities in this building are great and there are definitely a lot of pros to living here. Pros include great location, open floor plans, renovated kitchen, California closets, friendly and responsive building manager. However, one big con is that the floors and walls are paper thin! I can hear both my next door neighbor's stereo and bass constantly as well as every footstep of my upstairs neighbor. The floor insulation seems to be an ongoing issue. Most of the resident are respectful but if you get a bad apple, there's not much that can be done.
