Every time I have a maintenance issue it will take months to repair and I have to go to the office every other day to remind them it needs to be fixed, laundry facilities have been offline since the February winter storm and even now they are constantly breaking
I submitted my application on Jan. 19, 2021 for one of the apartments at Avistar at Wood Hollow. I had also paid the deposit. Since the unit was not ready by the move-in date, I had to cancel my application on Jan. 22. They had assured me that they would refund the “deposit” (not the application fee) in case of cancelling the application. At the time of writing (May 13, 2021), I have not yet received my deposit. I have talked to the management several times, but it did not help. Instead, I just witnessed dishonest and unprofessional behaviors every time I had to go to their office. I noticed from the other reviews, that I am not the only victim of such unethical behavior by the management of Avistar at Wood Hollow. I know it may necessitate a noticeable degree of energy and dedication, but I have decided to pursue this matter legally. Hopefully, they will be held accountable.

I moved into Avistar Apartments last October. When I moved in I never got one of those papers you fill out with what's wrong with the apartment. With that being said, when I moved in there was roaches EVERYWHERE!!!! It was so bad I didn't even stay here my first night because I was using roach bombs to try to get rid of them. Pest control came by twice and even they couldn't get it under control, even with me buying several different pest control product's. It seems like they just wont go away. Another big problem is one day I was cleaning my apartment and saw a FREAKING MOUSE run along my wall. Naturally, I freaked out and bought traps to get rid of it. Pest control came once again and saw no evidence of a mouse and said he would have maintenance come and look around to see where the mouse was coming in and out of. To this very day maintenance still hasn't came. I had to catch the mouse myself. Gross. It's a beautiful apartment but for as much as I pay I would have expected better pest control.

Plz don’t even think of moving to this apartment complex, you will end up in rats community. Leasing office is not even responding, I called them 20 times. Waste of time.

I wish I can give those group of people who manage this basket of trash less than one star. I was walking in Walmart and met one of my friends and told him I am moving to this place, he screamed in my face and told me that this is the worst place to live in Austin. Besides their ugly and dirty apartments with almost no maintenance, their calculations are always wrong and their bills always have mistakes and he urged me to revise every estimate they make for me and he confirmed that I must find mistakes. He told me a story that when he moved out from there, they overestimated his move out charge with $500 for no reason, and they kept chasing him to pay them until he threatens them to file a case in the court. Unfortunately, I did not know that before signing the lease, I never read their reviews and I just filled the application online. When I went home, I revised my move-in estimates I found a mistake for over $250 added with no reason. And for the first time, I faced those bunch of rude and non-professional persons as I mainly signed the lease online without seeing their faces. I visited the office to ask one of the employees some questions about my estimated move-in payment, he treated me like I am a beggar like how dare I ask him about that, I tried to convince him that his calculations are wrong and probably he needs to revise that. This is like stealing my money without even giving me a chance to understand how this is calculated. He yells in my face pretending that he is busy and does not have time for me. I hated myself and hated the day that I even sought to move to this nasty place. I am not sure how can I deal with those people for an entire year, I hope I will not move there. I filed a complaint against them in Austin Apartment Association and they promised that they will investigate my case soon, hopefully, I can escape from those people peacefully with the minimal damage to me and my dignity.

It feels like I’ve made 50 noise complaints to management and Austin 311 for the last 7 or 8 months with nothing being done about it. Noisy throughout the day and night. Recently had people revving cars and “racing” in the parking lot in the middle of the night. One neighbor is always yelling. Looking forward to my lease ending. As for the newly “remodeled” quality, is lacking. The kitchen has no drawers, the pantry has no door, and the cabinets are either cheap or reused. The bathroom shower/tub doesn’t look updated at all with the iron stain. Oh, that’s due to the water always starting off brown/red. It clears up but that tells me the piping was never replaced. A few cockroaches and those tiny bugs that roll into a small pebble sized ball. The bedroom is too cold except in the summer then it is too hot. The air system has only 2 vents, 3 if you think the tiny one in the bathroom does anything. All of the electrical outlets are new but extremely cheap. Don’t expect anything to stay plugged in due to the loose connection. You’ll know because you’ll smell “burning” plastic but it’s just the metal prongs not connecting properly. It’s not the outlet covers that are the cause either. I know because I took them off on each one to see if it helped. Nope, this place is a cost cut hack of a complex owned and operated by people who do not care. P.S. Be prepared to over pay on your water. I live alone and I pay almost $90 a month with very little water use.

Don't bother applying here. I basically paid $175 dollars to deal with unreliable office management. I had a deadline of 2/1 and I made sure to apply with enough time in case anything was needed from me. I had to constantly email, text, call the office to get things moving. Heather, Armando and whoever else runs that place would benefit from taking a customer service class. Don't be fooled by the cheap prices. You're better off renting somewhere else. This was a complete waste of time.

Ive had nothing but problems with this apartment! I have had plumbing issues since ive moved in to were i am unable to shower or use the toilet in my one bathroom apartment. There are a TON od roaches and when ive gone to the office to have something done ive been met with rude staff who are extremely unprofessional! Teresa the manager is always drunk and rude. Nothing gets done and i cant even eat in the apartment for fear of getting a mouthful of bugs! Leaving as soon as my lease is up!

I recently moved into a one bedroom four days ago. So far, I've enjoyed everything! My apartment is completely remodelled and clean. Three of my neighbors have already introduced themselves making me feel more comfortable easing into the community. The office staff has been professional and organized through the whole process. Another important aspect was the noise: I need a quiet atmosphere to be able to focus on college work and this apartment has been great for that. No loud noises, kids yelling, or dogs barking. Everyone seems laid back and easy going. The apartments are rather old, but they have done a WONDERFUL job of remodeling them. All these bad reviews seem to be from a time before the owners began caring for the complex. As of today, I highly recommend Avistar at Wood Hollow. Oh, and don't let me forget about the prices: very affordable for the area. I'm literally 8 minutes from downtown Austin. Definitely check them out!
I’ve been living here going on 7 years my apt, has been good to me, and yes they are being renovated, they look beautiful inside, fresh and new very proud that they are doing a wonderful job upgrading our place we call home. The employees are doing their best to make sure the complex is getting what it needs.
Built in 1973, OalhollownApts has its up and downs. As for being over 30yrs old matinance is required. Besides the heat in Texas and living on the thrid floor, there's a three level pool to quench it. Lots of trees, a creek, and when the winter comes you can use the fire place that's been built in for you to enjoy as you watch the leaves change color. Awesome on rent for this area. Oakhollow has HEB, trails, and hidden gems like Bull Creek park which lies on the pathroas of Austin's famous greenbelt. I hope this review for Oakhollow has been helpful. Have a great day! Ben
