Still less than sub-par. Everything about the property is lackluster. Garbage everywhere, office doesn't care, maintenance is trying its best. Dog poop everywhere and nothing is done but a email that has veiled threats of fines, even then the email is so poorly written that it's laughable. The will nickel and dime you to death and boast "new perks" that aren't actually perks, they are partnerships aimed at profits. Avoid if you have literally any other option.
I don’t usually write very detailed reviews but living in this apartment has been so unpleasant I feel I have to. I am counting the days before my lease is up. When we moved into the unit there were so many issues. The closets were pretty much breaking down, the baseboards were broken, my fridge literally had maggots, the lights flickered. I placed about 5 work orders the week I moved in. The maintenance staff came and tried to fix everything but ultimately told me they couldn’t fix everything. We moved in September and by around November the apartment was so cold even when the heat was blasted. I thought it was the baseboards and there were a few tweaks they made to fix them but it remained cold in the unit. Living in Illinois, it’s pretty concerning when your house won’t heat up.. turns out the window in the second bedroom and bathroom were not properly installed and letting a lot of air from outside in. When it’s 20 degrees outside, that becomes a big problem. They came and patched it up but didn’t replace the windows. What type of apartment where you pay for heating doesn’t provide even a proper heating system with broken windows and baseboards? If you want to be warm, don’t live here.. the neighbors are not the best either. The first month I lived there, there was a huge box with permanent maker written on the face saying something to the affect of: “stop stealing your neighbors things” someone in the building opened a neighbors mail and stole his/her things.. I get nervous having things delivered to my own home in fear it will get stolen. Another issue, there are 20 apartments and 2 washers and 2 dryers.. the machines are old and I don’t even know if my cloths are getting clean or more dirty after a wash. A neighbor decided to write a note on the laundry room window saying “if you don’t take your cloths out of the washer, they are going in the trash” imagine you place your cloths in a public washer that isn’t free, and your neighbor thinks they can come in and throw your cloths in the trash to wash theirs? I am seriously counting the days before I leave here. In my unit, one of the tenants likes to leave her trash outside in the hallway until her child comes home from school to throw it out. I usually leave my house around noon to make it to a gym class and I always see trash the first step outside of my apartment. That usually ruins my day especially when the trash smells. Long story short, this was the apartment from hell.
I am currently a resident and I am not renewing my lease. I honestly can't wait for my lease to end. There are bugs that we pay to have the building sprayed which I have never once seen. The parking is awful. I think that's my biggest issue. I needed a rental due to my car needing a little work due to a manufacture issue. They told me I have to parking on the street a half mile away and register with the police department when I live there. I would understand if it wasn't a resident, but I pay my rent every month and now I have to walk because of there horrible parking. I would think twice before moving here. My building constantly smells like smoke and they don't care. The laundry facilities are horrible and they break constantly.

I am new to the Axis apartments! It’s a good place to live and safely! I got some new decent apartment with the help of Tonya! When I come, she was helping me to find a good apartment, until I was happy with what I chose, he is very polite, she has a lot of patience! Tanya it’s the best!!! The management is good and helpful and they are really attentive to detail and quick to resolve any kind of issue. The apartment it’s nice and spacious, in unit laundry is very convenient. Amenities good, pool and fitness center is nice and a lot of parking for your car in the front of the building! Nice area and buildings! I’m more than happy to live here!
Worst apartment complex I’ve ever lived in. Moved into a dirty apartment. Public areas never cleaned. Laundry rooms are absolutely horrible - better off going to a laundry mat. Neighbors are loud all throughout. Complained but nothing happens. Management doesn’t respond to emails (and this is the new management). Bugs all year round inside. Mold in units. Nothing here is “luxury.” Go elsewhere. You’ll thank me.
Pros Near train station Cons Roaches, Horrible interior painting, Constant smell in hallways, Exterior doors don’t lock, constant slamming, Noise - above and below, neighbors blast music and run across floor (don’t fall for the concrete talk), Parking, Laundry Room - never cleaned, dirt, leaves etc in machines, $1.30 per wash and per dry, Public Areas rarely cleaned, Power trips, heat is minimal in winter, AC units outdated, no ventilation in bathroom, mail just left outside
We have moved to Axis apartment from Boston in July and the day we moved the apartment is filthy and not cleaned. Also we found bed bugs and kids health got impacted. But community people didn't agree to move to separate apartment and asked us to stay until bed bugs removed. We were more suffered when the community employee (Abbi) treated/argued with us when we tried to explain kids suffering due to this poorly maintained apartment. Finally they are asking us to pay $750 in order to move to some other apartment even without our mistake.
Lived there for two years. Hazards were always everywhere and the staff did nothing about it. There was a big fire in the apartment building next to mine and everyone had to move out fast. Husband slipped and fell inside the foyer multiple times cuz tile floor was wet. Manager said she ordered a mat but nine months later, no mat. They are penny pinchers and so rude and lazy.
I don't even live here. I came to the office an met Natalie. I gave this place 325.00 to review my application and this was on 7/25/17. I hadn't heard from Natalie in over a week and every time I call there was no answer. I finally went to the office and that's when she told me that my application had been denied. Well remember now I gave 325.00 so in turn if deny me your suppose to give me back my application fee less the administrative fee which was 175. She tells me she can't give it because it's at corporate. How do cash my cashiers check before you know if the person even qualifies for the apartment. Is this place into stealing money? I went just this past Saturday to see if my cashiers check was back. I explained that they could not mail it to me due to the fact that I've already moved from my previous place of residents. I will be back there today. If I don't leave with the money that is owed to me today, then you all will here from my lawyer and pay all necessary fees. This is ridiculous. Ms. Foster
Today at 22:38 If you can avoid it, DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT HERE!!! This is the absolute worst complex we have ever, ever experienced. (The problem is not just Axis at Westmont - beware of other complexes in the area managed by BH Management). When you have problems with management, don't expect them to ever be resolved. They will tell you that you can call corporate to take up matters with them, and in true form, you will get no further than a secretary, who promises a call back and never calls. There were actual mistakes on our bill for the second month that we lived here, but because they were in the online system, the manager told us that in order to get it fixed, we would need to call corporate. We were also told not to pay until we spoke with corporate and they were able to fix the mistakes. Instead, after calling corporate every day for over a week with no response, we were required to pay the bill (with mistakes included) as well as a $100 late fee (even though we were advised not to pay the bill until we spoke to corporate) to avoid eviction.
I've lived here TWICE over the past 20 years & plan to move back in again. Beautiful pool, great workout room and always a helpful staff. Close to public transportation and expressways. Apartments are bigger than most in the area. Any negative comments are less than 10% of the picture. I cannot say enough about the good things they offer. If you prefer the Downers Grove, Westmont, Willowbrook area, this is the best choice. I know 'cause I've tried them all! You get what you pay for and then some.
LIVE IN A TENT ITS BETTER THEN HERE! MGMT IS HORRIBLE AND THEY "INCONVENIENCE" THE TENANTS MULTIPLE TIMES A MONTH FIXING STUFF THAT ISNT BROKEN (CUT DOWN TREES THEY JUST PLANTED, RE DO ROOF FROM 3 YEARS AGO)WHILE THE THINGS THAT DO NEED FIXING (LIKE THE PARKING LOT SITUATION OR WHEN THE DOOR TO YOUR COMPLEX IS BROKEN IE DOESNT LOCK BUT THEY LEAVE IT FOR MONTHS!!!) OH AND THEY SHUT OFF THE WATER AND CLOSE THE AMENITIES ALL THE TIME. NOT TO MENTION HOW THEY WILL LEAVE A NOTE ON YOUR DOOR THE DAY OF SAYING THEY WILL ENTER YOUR APPT WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. THEY JACK UP THE RENT EVERY YEAR AND MAINTENANCE IS A JOKE. DO YOU WANT SO RANDOM PEOPLE IN YOUR APPT< IF YOU DO LIVE HERE!
Safety its my concern. I have been trying to get them to fix the front entrance door for weeks. Nothing has been done. It tells you how much they care. Do your research first before if you have young kids and are concern about their safety!!
I cannot explain how awful this place is! They have no respect for their tenets or their tenets privacy. The staff is the worst kind of people, when you have a concern they look at you like you have three heads and have no solutions for you. There is mold everywhere! Like having guests over at your place, not without their permission they will tow your vehicle if your guests park even for an hour after hours. The rent goes up every single year. I can go on or pages, please heed my warning i cannot wait to get out fast enough.
This complex is a joke. DON'T LIVE HERE!!!! They may be cheaper but you get what you pay for! First of all the office staff doesn't care about the residents, All they care is that you will pay your rent. They change people so often i don't think i've seen the same person more then twice (aka two months bc they can't keep there staff either). They never answer the office phone and it takes me having to speak my mind on the internet telling the truth about the complex to get anything fixed. Secondly the complex's grounds are falling apart but they are tearing off the roofs instead of fixing what needs to be done (aka falling trees, broken hall doors, potholes, lack of parking, insufficient garbage containers...i could go on forever). Another thing is for the love of god don't plan on anything being salted or shoveled in winter. In fact expect the opposite, the parking lots are covered in ice. AND IF THEY PLOW they will plow you in. And speaking of the parking lot good luck finding a parking space. They have pot holes the size ur tire can fit completely in and their covered spot (which is basically useless to keep the elements let alone protect your car) are 40$ a month. People basically get fed up and are forced to get one just to have a spot when they get home from work. Next issue, my apartment building had a flood three years ago when i moved in. Nothing was done about the water which flooded the hall and went under the walls of several apartments. This lead to mold growing in the hall and in my apartment. Every time i complained about it nothing was done. So I asked for them to replace my air conditioner as it was filled with mold. (previously they had "cleaned it'' with bleach which does NOT kill mold and they claimed it was dirt) Fast forward to this year when the building was bought by a new owner. Now all of a sudden they have to fix it ( aka enter my home without notice or my permission, in fact i said they can not enter but who cares about my home, dogs,or infant daughter?) tomorrow. This means taring up my home and not even giving me a chance to schedule because they are mad i have voiced the REAL life at the fountains of stone crest on the internet. Maybe try to take care of your residents. There are no real amenities of living here unless you like frustration and living in a slum. I can't wait to be free of this place ! I have never looked forward to moving but I sure am now!!!
Lived here for 5years. Every year the rent goes up, the management changes, yet things rarely get fixed in a timely fashion. Don't let the picture of the office building fool you the apts don't really look that great.
Great location close to 55th and Cass and major highways within a 10 minute drive. Public transportation is close at hand and very close to Oakbrook shopping center. Golf course and park close by. Park offers soccer, basketball, soft ball, tennis, bean bags and a grilling spot for the general public. Grocery stores, restaurants, bars, mechanics and just about anything you need is close. About a 20 minute drive to the city. Pool and office are very nice with the office including a business center, racquetball and sauna. Pet friendly. They offer dog waste stations with bags while walking your dog which is very nice. Staff and maintenance guys are professional, nice and quick to act on service requests. Utilities are outdated and after filing service requests they've upgraded most of our appliances to newer models. Only problem there is it sometimes took multiple service requests to get problem fixed or appliance replaced. Disliked how they offered nothing for renewing our lease for a 2nd year. Hallways in apartment building need cleaning including the walls, overhead lights and carpets. Rent is comparable to what other places are offering. Each building offers 2 washers and dryers that use pre-loaded cards that can be renewed in office 24 hours a day. Seems to be a slight disconnect between staff and owner as they aren't always up to speed on issues. All in all it is a very nice, quiet and safe place to live. I'd recommend it to others.
