Crenshaw is a diverse neighborhood located in South Los Angeles, California. Crenshaw, which is rooted in African American history, is home to the famous Hyde Park neighborhood that’s often referred to as “the heart of African American commerce in Los Angeles.” Famous rapper Nipsey Hussle paid tribute to Crenshaw Boulevard in his songs.
The neighborhood has great access to the LAX metro system with lines running to the Los Angeles International Airport.
Crenshaw provides quick access to I-105 and I-10, making it simple to access Downtown Los Angeles. The Kenneth Hahn State Recreation area, located nearby, features a workout course, Japanese gardens, athletic fields, disc golf, and walking/running trails. Every year, the neighborhood hosts “Destination Crenshaw,” a 1.3-mile-long outdoor art and culture exhibit featuring Black Los Angeles. When you rent your apartment in Crenshaw, you‘ll enjoy a neighborhood rich with African American history where culture is celebrated.

Property Ratings at Baldwin Village
I lived here in 2019 and had a horrible stay, there were homeless people dumpster diving every single day, the dumpsters were infrequently emptied, trash strewn everywhere due to the homeless dumpster divers, cockroaches frequently finding their way into my second floor apartment, people constantly parking in my reserved spot, and the electricity breaker constantly went down because we couldn't even use a portable AC unit and the microwave at the same time. The doorknobs and cabinet handles were dirty and not cleaned, and we ended up replacing the handles ourselves. There was NO built-in air conditioning in Los Angeles (!!!!) and it was a very dangerous area to live in. I had many run-ins with homeless people staring at me from the street while I'm in the kitchen. A homeless man slept in the stairwell leading to the apartment door and a fellow tenant scared him away. The security didn't help. There is no gated entry. The schools in the area are bad and rated poorly. We had a hard time connecting the coax cable for internet. They had us sign the lease before even viewing the apartment, and it wasn't even the correct unit. The only positives are there was a full gas range, the grass was mowed often, the carpet was clean and the previous tenant left a stainless steel fridge behind. I do not recommend living here at all. I hope they have gotten new management since then.
Love it here. Centrally located, beautiful grounds, quite, and a charming 2 bedroom apt. The management has been welcoming, accommodating, available and eager to please. No complaints, all good.
This property offers a chic & peaceful living space. Right in Los Angeles it's close to amenities. It's also pet friendly!
This is very spacious living. Three bedrooms to suit anyone from college to newlyweds I'd live here. I also love that they allow pets so if i do end up living here i can bring my dog.
Love this app has helped me to find the best place for me and my husband.
After an extremely difficult bi-coastal move, I am so happy that I found this complex! The staff is absolutely wonderful and they all know everyone in this rather large complex by name. They are always available help you with smile and maintenance requested are handled very promptly. The Apt itself is lovely. I have a standard one bedroom that is equipped with plenty of storage, carpet throughout, huge bathroom and living room with an attached dining area. There is tons of street parking and you can pay extra for a garage. There are two entrances to the apt, one for the street and one that goes into a well manicured common area backyard. It makes living here seem more like a house than an apt. The only reason I gave this complex only 4-star, is that it's in a rather rough area. Not the most comfortable place to come home to late at night so be prepared. Still for a Brooklyn girl like me, I'm looking forward to many years here at my new west coast home!
Very spacious. Free parking. Although be cautious when parking on the street. It'd be nice to have an air conditioner and laundry facility but I'm confident the management is working on it.
