I moved into the Ballantyne Apartments back in 2007, and recently moved out at the end of July, 2020. I was there for thirteen years. My most recent upstairs neighbor abused and tormented me continually and consistently for an entire year with his abnormal and unacceptable banging and stomping around, and his loud music with accompanying bass. After multiple (over five) verbal and written complaints to both the management office (Raena) and the onsite courtesy officer, absolutely NOTHING was done to help me and preserve my right to "reasonable peace and quiet," which was formally promised to me in the written lease agreement. The complex not only gravely let me down, but they violated their own lease agreement. That's totally UNACCEPTABLE. As a result of management's inaction, my upstairs neighbor never did change his behavior throughout this whole process, nor was he evicted. I ultimately moved out. This is how a thirteen-year timely-paying tenant with no complaints was treated there. Strongly heed my warning.

I've been residing here for almost 2 months...I signed a lease for 14, which I truly regret. This place is not luxurious as they claim...the appliances are very basic...the bathrooms could use a total makeover as well. For what they're charging it should be a whole lot better. Not to mention, it takes FOREVER to get anything repaired...that was before the Corona virus. Some of the staff are okay, except Brice...he is very dry and unfriendly. I wished he had spoken to me when I decided to rent with them, because I certainly wouldn't have chosen to live there. I have 12 months left and I can't wait to leave this place. Bottom line...it's not worth your time or money.

Applied for to this property and was approved, I asked them to hold it until I was able to make there for move in due to relocation 4-4.5 hrs away. They agreed. My husband and I paid a full months rent for the deposit and SIGNED a 6 month lease via email Jan 2 2020 and contract terminated Jan 5 2020 according to the property manager . We were unable to move in “within” 3 days of paying the deposit and signing the lease so we were told our application was terminated and we forfeit the lease. STRANGE. Then we were told we was responsible for paying one months rent and not receive app fees back due to us forfeiting the lease. Please just make sure able to move in right away when you sign a lease and pay or they will boot you right out of getting the apartment. Also, we never even received keys so not sure why we wouldn’t be able to get our money back.

When an application is conditionally approved, those conditions must be met within 72 hours in order for us to continue to hold an apartment for you. In this case, the required additional deposit was never paid. Additionally, if you fail to occupy the apartment unit on the agreed-upon date, you understand that we will assess damages for the amount of loss or any expenses incurred due to your cancellation. We try to accommodate our applicants and residents to the best of our abilities, however, you failed to show up for move-in multiple times and after the fifth change to your move-in date in an effort to accommodate you we had to cancel your application. A lab confirmed it and they did nothing about it. It came out in big flakes all over the furniture under the vents. And that was just what you COULD see. They also will not fix any maintenance issues after you turn in your notice to vacate...even if the fridge is leaking all over the floor. Then they will charge you a CRAZY amount after they keep your deposits. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
However friendly the staff is, they are incompetent. I gave a new forwarding address (prior to move-out date) to two different leasing agents and both failed to change the address in their system. Upon move-out my deposit check was mailed to the wrong address. When I call and ask the leasing office I am told it is my fault.
1. Close to EVERYTHING!! 2. Love the neighborhood and beautiful parks and walking trails. (Doggie approved) 3. Property is maintained and landscaped. 4. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. 5. Maintenance handles my very few (in three years) issues in a timely manner. 6. Did I mention, close to everything?!
They offer a good amount of amenities which are spread across the complex, so no matter what building you pick, you're likely to be by something nice. Not only that, the location is good if you're looking to live in the area, but want to stay away from those high traffic areas. You even get some walkable grocery options and restaurants from here. It's worth taking a look at for those of you who commute to different cities or plan to take lots of trips from the DFW airport since Sam Rayburn and 121 is so accessible from here.
Do your self a favor and avoid this complex! We are relocating from out of state and my wife was supposed to move into a furnished apartment this past Saturday. Of course the furniture was not delivered (they apartment staff did not confirm that the rental company had actually received the order). My wife was stuck as she needed the weekend to get situated (unpacked, laundry, groceries, etc.) as she started a new job that week and had little free time except for the weekend. They offered no concessions for the significant inconvenience due to their mistake and insisted that she would have to pay full rent for the unfurnished apartment while awaiting delivery of the furniture. The concept of customer service and taking responsibility for your actions (and mistakes) is clearly missing from this complex management team.

The Ballantyne Apartments in Lewisville is not the largest apartment complex in Lewisville and I really like that. The apartments are spacious for the money. My 2 bedroom/2 bath has more than enough room for me and when my son comes to visit. The plank flooring does well to give a separation between the living and dining room areas so you don't feel like the apartment is one big room. The kitchen and laundry room area aren't huge but the very, very workable and laid out to maximize the counter space - you won't step over one another when you're working in it, The laundry room can fit a full sized washer and dryer with plenty of room left over. The complex is clean and well maintained - I always see the maintenance people around the complex working on something and keeping the grounds together. There's a trash valet that picks up the trash Monday through Thursday, a nice amenity to have. The best thing about leaving there is the proximity to EVERYTHING! The apartments are in spitting distance to 121, about a mile or two from 35 and 635. 10-15 mins to the airport, 5 miles to Lake Lewisville, The Colony, Plano, and Frisco! My son and I go practically everywhere and get there in no time. Since there's really no nightlife in Lewisville, it's nice to be able to get where there is something to do without too much trouble. There are a lot of apartments to choose from in Lewisville. My husband works in Euless and I work in North Dallas so this is an excellent for us since it's in the middle. We searched and searched this area for the best deal and found it at Ballantyne. Our apartment could use some updating as far as the countertops but for what we are paying we didn't expect granite or anything. The closets are huge and there is a lot of bright light in our apartment. And we didn't have any problems with the people in the office at all. They have been nice since the first time we went there and were helpful throughout our whole move in. When we go in to pick up a package or rent a movie, whoever helps us has always been friendly. We are glad we chose to live here!
This is one of the larger apartment complex in Lewisville at a reasonable price. However, the staff is terrible! They lack customer service skills… Better yet I don't think they even care if the residents are satisfied, comfortable, or not. I originally moved here thinking I can make Ballantyne a 2 year home or more… Well Every day since I signed the lease I have had nothing but problem… I would think twice before moving here!
Although I've only been there once, it's one of very few apartment complexes that offer enclosed yards. That's my main requirement (for my dogs!) and its not easy finding a complex with an opening. If an opening came up at the time I needed to move, I'd be there!
My family and I moved in because we needed a place quick and it was the least expensive option at the time. I have lived in entirely too many apartment complexes in my lifetime and I can say this is tied for the worst complex I have ever lived in. Good luck submitting a maintenance request unless you don't mind calling every day to see what is taking so long. The office staff used to be great but went out of their way to fire the nice ones and hire a group of people trained in the art of dirty looks every time you go through their office or use the pool table they have set up for the residents. We also lived by residents who were an older couple with no children who took a 3 bedroom apartment in a building with 5 families with multiple children who run and play. Every time they complained we were sighted and "warned" without any investigation or asking for our side of the story. There were a couple occasions where our kids were out of control and we accept that, but the majority of time it wasn't us.
