It's the birthplace of the United States. It's a World Heritage City, the first in the country. It's Philadelphia's Old City, and it isn't just for tourists. This terrific neighborhood still features cobblestone streets, and the landmarks are amazing: Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Penn's Landing, the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, and the Betsy Ross House. Elfreth's Alley is the oldest residential street in the nation, dating back to 1702. The museums are also impressive: the Museum of the American Revolution, the National Museum of American Jewish History, the Benjamin Franklin Museum, and the Independence Seaport Museum.
But while you'll have endless destinations to take out-of-town visitors, living in Old City provides a wealth of charm, walkable streets, terrific shops and restaurants, and an outstanding farmer's market. The neighborhood is bicycle-friendly, and bicycle rentals are available at Indego stations.

Property Ratings at Bank Street Court
Lived here for 2 years. The gate is open half the time mostly because people don't close it properly. Packages get delivered to the UPS store 3 blocks away and not to the building, and the controlled remove access for guests DOESN'T WORK, has never worked, and management is unwilling to admit it doesn't work OR FIX it. In February of 2018, half of the building was involved in a fire, and it took management to the end of the day to tell us that it was in a fire and even longer to tell us what was going on. We inquired daily and hardly ever received information about when we would be allowed to reoccupy out apartments. It was almost a month before we could return. They said the carpets would be replaced in the hallways and they weren't. There's pet pee stains all over them on the entrance floor. Lastly, the maintenance people are nice, but dont do the best of jobs, plus they leave your place a mess and don't clean up after themselves. It's not all horrible though.....it is a nice location, expensive but reasonable price, but management sucks really bad.

I absolutely adore this lofty address. It's the type of place one can enjoy modern city life with some history. The architecture is breathtaking and inviting. Modern look with history included.
