Property Ratings at Barclay Village Apartments
There are massive closets/storage in the apartment, there's laundry machines that work well, a dishwasher that works well, a private entrance and patio, and I had a brand new carpet when we moved in and walls touched up. This was my first apartment and the property managers were incredibly helpful and held my hand through it (lol). Maintenance is so nice and quick! When I first moved in the stovetops weren't working and they replaced it within 2 days (*during the pandemic in July 2020!). The apartment and management have been fantastic, absolutely no complains about them. The location is also great, right next to the highways to get where you need to go, plus near a lot of food (Taco Bell, Amari's, Delis). I have walked to Taco Bell and Amari's to get food :) If I had any complaints, its that the apartments are not sound proof and can hear the person below, next to me, etc. Luckily the people around me are fairly quiet, as it is a quiet-ish area.
We really enjoyed living here, with the exception of the incompetent leasing office staff. We purchased a home and therefore, needed to move out but when I couldn’t immediately locate my lease I requested another copy. The office provided a signed lease with altered dates, extending the lease another month from the lease I signed. When I posed a question related to the dates they assured me they were accurate. Luckily, I found two copies of my original lease with the dates I initially knew were correct. Mike in the leasing office blamed the system for changing the dates but I can’t see how a system would alter a signed legal document. This appeared to be an attempt by the office to get another month of rent from tenants. Plain and simple, it was not the lease I signed and was passed off as though it was. After we moved out they stated our carpet was excessively dirty from our dog “going the bathroom”, when they didn’t even remember we had a dog, and are now trying to charge us an additional $434.92 plus keeping our security deposit to replace the carpet. They refused to have it shampooed because “they didn’t want to charge me more.” I went back to see the carpet the day I was notified (which is was obviously more dirty where the furniture didn’t cover since it’s cheap tan carpet right up to the front door) and there was paint all over the carpet, forcing the replacement issue. No one in the office even has the decency to respond to an email. Just TERRIBLE management, plain and simple.
I'm so sorry I ever moved. Barclay Village grounds and pool were meticulous. The pool area was always sparkling clean from the pool to the chairs you sat on. The snow removal was the absolute best of anywhere I have lived. The maintenance crew were always polite, friendly and respectful as was the office staff. The apartments are a little smaller than others in the area but it is so worth giving up the space for the kind and considerate neighbors that I mostly had (there is always a few bad apples). I only moved because I couldn't do the stairs any longer and should have opted for a different apartment on the first floor. I just moved for the second time and only in my new apartment 6 months. The new neighbors are horrible (foul language, yelling & screaming & dropping lighted cigarettes & catching a chair cushion on fire). I will be moving out of here as soon as my lease is up. Hopefully, Barclay Village Apartments will welcome me back I want to come home Barclay and thank you for taking such good care of me for six years.

My husband and I have lived in Barclay Village for almost 5 years. Some of our favorite features of the complex are the washer/dryer in unit, central air, and the pool! A complex having all the amenities and being dog friendly are rare in this area and we are happy we found Barclay. The management team and maintenance are extremely helpful and try to work with you on things.

Thank you for the excellent review… we’re so glad you’re enjoying your stay with us! The in-unit washer/dryer is a feature everyone finds to be extremely convenient, and the central air and pool definitely makes those hot summer days much more bearable. Thank you also for recognizing both our management and maintenance teams, they pride themselves on their exemplary customer service. Thanks again for taking the time to write us such a wonderful review!
I have lived at Barclay Village for 10 years and I have nothing but great things to say about this complex. They have amenities such as a washer/dryer, dishwasher, carpet and central air which are highly desirable yet rare in this area. The leasing office and maintenance crew know me by name and are always there for me if I ever need them. Recently I was laid off and was unable to make my rent payment on time. The leasing office worked with me and even followed up with an email to check on me. Give Barclay Village a look, you won't be disappointed in this apartment complex!

Thank you for the great review! Whereas we are one of the few apartment complexes in the area that offer an in-unit washer/dryer (among the other amenities), we pride ourselves on the relationships we make with our residents, and it is because of our residents that we are here. Thank you again for taking the time to write us a five-star review!
Lived in Barclay Village for about 1.5 years and had a great experience. The 1 bedroom apartment was spacious and most importantly it had central AC/heating and a washer and dryer machine inside. Management was very helpful and responsive throughout the moving in process, as well as, the moving out process. They were able to find a tenant before my 2 month notice expired and helped me save a lot of money. Maintenance promptly helped me with my minor issues like when I locked myself out. I would highly recommend checking out the apartments and reaching out to the fantastic management team at Barclay Village.
