Property Ratings at Barrington Hills Apartments
Denise was so helpful in finding, not just any apartment, but the right unit for me. She was vary patient with my various concerns and questions and was accommodating. While every property out there has their problem areas, the customer service makes all the difference.
Customer service was not the best, needs work, plus the neighborhood unsafe
Property Manager at Barrington Hills Apartments, Responded To This Review
We sincerely regret your negative experience with our customer service and your worries on the safety of the area. Please remember that there is no address for crime. We do, however, offer this community roaming patrol services. We appreciate your input and are dedicated to improving. If you have any customer service issues, please contact me personally at the leasing office by calling (770) 281-628. Regards, David L.
We recently moved into a 3-bedroom apartment, and while we’re mostly satisfied, a few things could have been handled better. Upon moving in, we noticed the toilets were loose, and the screen door broke off as we tried to close it. Thankfully, maintenance was quick to respond, and the gentleman who came to address the issues was very courteous and efficient. We’ve primarily worked with Denise, who has been incredibly sweet and helpful throughout the process, which made the transition smoother. That said, the trash area is a significant downside. It’s an eyesore and really detracts from the overall appearance of the property. While I’m not sure what the best solution is, it seems to start with the residents, as I’ve noticed trash left on the road rather than properly disposed of in the designated area. Additionally, there’s another pool area that could use some attention—perhaps it could be repurposed into something more useful, like a basketball court. Overall, we’re content with the apartment, but there are a few areas for improvement.

Dear resident, thank you for your detailed feedback and for highlighting both the positives and areas for improvement. We're glad to hear that Denise and our maintenance team have been helpful, and we appreciate your suggestions regarding the trash area and pool.
The leasing office doesn’t care about residents, especially the manager. Trash is always full, gate is always broken, apartments are run down. Maintenance staff is friendly but that’s the only positive

Please don't move here. ***don't move into building 3430*** Hands down, the worst housing experience I've ever had. We lived here for a year and a half and had to break our lease because our apartment became infested with roaches. Crawling up the walls, falling from ceiling into food, etc. The leasing office refused to do anything about it besides just sprays. The dumpster is always overflowing and rat infested. We didn't have a mailbox for the first 10 months we lived here and they didn't tell us this until we were already moved in. We were moved into a unit that did not have a water heater so we didn't have hot water for the first week. Residents blast music at all hours, dogs off leash, pool closed all summer. The leasing office is incredibly rude and will not return phone calls/emails and have no interest in actually helping residents. Oh and water bills are at least $100 per month for just 2 people.

the maintenance team are well in tune, they are very respectful and always make sure that all things are working well

Thank you for highlighting the excellent work of our maintenance team. We're proud to have them ensuring everything runs smoothly for our residents.
I used to love living here, but under RAM it's become RIDICULOUS. Not only do we always have an overflowing trash compactor, but we always have a water issue. Now, this is not new and due to RAM. HOWEVER, RAM is the ONLY management company since I've been here that has not kept us updated on when the water will be turned back on. We were told that the water would be off from 12PM to 3PM. It's going on 7PM and it still has not been turned on and there's been absolutely NO communication from this company. I'm pissed.

Poor apartment planning all around, from the complex itself to the apartments. The "renovated" apartments aren't truly renovated in the ways that matter, i.e., expect to make frequent maintenance requests and expect the apartment and porch to be dirty. Be careful where you park your car. A resident hit my roommate's car in the lot while it was parked and has denied any wrongdoing to insurance - they won't be paying a cent. The gate is frequently broken. My cell service has been poor. This complex is not good value for the price.
My stay is pleasant, the gate always works, grounds kept up, maintenance always responds quickly and staff is Great!
UNBELIEVABLE! If you are thinking about leasing here DON"T! I applied to lease a one bedroom apartment early last month and I was approved. I was lining everything up for my move on the 23rd of April when they told me ONE week before my move that the people occupying that apartment decided to stay which means that I am out of an apartment. As if moving isn't stressful enough they add extra pressure on me. I have never heard of that in my life!! They gave me 2 options, get my money back for the deposit and application fee or take a look at another apartment that they have. As livid as I was I had to look at the other apartment because I don't have time to find something else the same week that I designated to packing for my move. When I got there, the apartment was on the terrace level which is a huge no. The apartment also looked much smaller and dingy. It was like I was in a completely different complex than the apartment that they show you for a tour which is false advertising! I would have never picked that for myself and to think I would pay the same amount of money for that dump is unacceptable! The apartment I was supposed to get had washer and dryer connect and this one did not. I refuse to be at mercy of whatever they have left when I did my due diligence to line everything up way in advance. The apartment complex was not nearly apologetic enough. MANAGEMENT did not care enough to speak to me at all! This is the most stressful moving experience I have ever encountered at no fault of my own! I would not recommend anyone waste anytime on this complex. When you think you have everything arranged it can all change within days of your move and flip your life upside down. They deserve negative stars! Absolutely unacceptable!!!!
Over the last 3 or 4 years, there have been many management changes because of crappy management, a double murder, cops galore, robberies, women getting beat up in the parking lot, over-flowing trash dumpsters, mold and bug infestations...need I say more?

Thank you for offering your feedback on our community. Your safety and peace of mind are most important to us. The information youve shared is very unsettling. As we investigate your concerns, please contact me directly at customersatisfaction@stmkmgmt.com so we can discuss your comments further. Thank you for caring and for bringing this to our attention.
Staff here is extremely rude!! I watched one of the employees tell a future resident she needs to hurry because she is ready to go with so much attitude. On top of that the assistant manager is just as rude, they are always arguing with one another in front of the customers. They also give false information. Do not stay here
Place is literally disgusting. Moved in to cockroaches, a broken down pool, just overall very dirty. There’s a trash compactor that breaks literally all the time, so they just bring a massive dumpster to block the road and use, and it overflows, I mean literally like spilling into the road overflows and the complex does nothing about it. They’ll also sign for your packages and not tell you. Overall, pretty horrible. Will not be renewing my lease.
This community is pretty good for the most part. When im not having any issues. - I informed maintenance of a leak in my ceiling, that ended up causing mold, and all they did was send someone with a can of spray paint to paint over the mold. I had to contact the health department and the Corporate office to get this issue resolved. - The front gates never work and I have been stuck outside a few times with, once there were a total of 12 cars stuck outside the gate trying to enter. Other than that the neighborhood is quiet for the most part. Ive been here for 2 years I would recommend this community for somewhere who needs somewhere affordable and roomy to live.
The place has become unsafe and loud, marijuana smell is everywhere as well as trash. The Barrington Hills staff is courteous only to get you to stay. All the decent neighbours have already moved out!
There were red flags even before moving in. My 2 roommates and I were looking for a three bedroom apartment. We paid the fee and our paperwork went through only to be called to hear that the tenant had renewed the lease at the last possible second leaving us with no apartment and no refund. Due to issues, we asked to see if we could downgrade to a two bedroom since the paperwork went through. Now fast forward to the actual moving day. We had our stuff packed and all the paperwork and money ready so we could just sign the papers for a 6 month lease. Then the woman told us that she had "forgotten" to mention a $40 fee and that we wouldn't have to pay if we just signed for a year lease. We didn't have the extra money so we reluctantly signed for a year lease. There were problems with the kitchen sink faucet which we called maintenance. The man came by to fix it only to have it break again the day after. There was also a leak in the plumbing that caused the apartment below us to flood and the office called my roommate yelling and threatening to charge us for damages only to realize that it was a plumbing issue. The ladies seem nice, but like I said, red flags before moving in.
The apartments are quiet. Rent is reasonable. Maintaince can be a little slow. Got to stay on top of them. Front office is fairly nice.
Moved here 3 weeks ago after a nightmare lease in Duluth, GA. This apartment complex is nicer, quiet, kid friendly, has laundry facilities, and apartments with w/d connections, gorgeous pool, walking trail and is much cheaper than the one I was in. Angelica Cortes my leasing agent, was fantastic, going far beyond the call of duty, and incredibly efficient. I would recommend Barrington Hills to anyone wanting to relocate to the Norcross/Duluth area.
This place is perfect if you want to be close to everything like restaurants, shopping and entertainment but also be secluded. Quiet neighborhood and easy to get in and out of as well. It's super close to I-285 and I-85 and about 20 or so minutes from downtown Atlanta. If you are from the country like me this location is perfect because you don't feel like you are living in the city.
