Property Ratings at Barrington Park Townhomes
I would recommend this as long as the renter was looking in this price range.
I have recommended this place to friends and they typically enjoy the experience overall.
This is a comfortable community with a lot of heart.
Emails are responded in quick timely manner. Maintenance personnel was friendly and knowledgeable.
Great location and safe. Close to storage, highways, and shopping centers.
I would recommend, the maintenance crew has been extremely helpful and quick when I need anything. They are amazing and make living here such a great experience
Great peaceful living community. Great location
It' a great place to live, and an amazing community!
The floorplans are great, the person I worked with was great
Friendly staff. Beautiful community. Feels like it will be very easy to feel at home at Barrington Park.
Maintenance has to come waaay too often. And that is because things are not updated properly, which is a construction/renovation issue, which is not their fault.
The maintenance crew is great. The community is to lax and let rule breakers do what they want.
I have always been pleased with the professional response from all Block personnel. Service 5 star.
Very clean with prompt responses to questions and concerns.
The location is very convenient and near shopping, medical services, places of worship and all major freeways. The maintenance of the grounds is very good and responses to maintenance needs is always prompt and properly done. Thank you.
Clean, prompt maintenance, quality materials in apartment
Maintenance team are very awesome. They do a great job, they are also very friendly and helpful! Gary and Shane helped me with my vehicles tire when I was in desperate need of help! They took their time to help me! Shout out to both of them, also David is so helpful as well! This guys go above and beyond to help the residents! Thank you all.!!
What I love about this community is the ability to still feel like it's "my home". Most of the time, I hardly feel like I'm living in complex, and I love everything about that.
I already have recommended this place to friends! :) The houses are nice and the location is great. It's a pleasant place to live.
Such a nice community, and friendly!
YES
The walls are thin. I can literally make out my loud neighbors’ conversations. I can also hear intimate moments (ewww). I told staff and they did nothing. The remodels are just looks the bones of these buildings are old and no insulation; which means drafty and you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors say and do. My rent went up $80 which is unheard of. I won’t be staying much longer. Office staff is rude and unhelpful. They won’t accept packages and no longer take physical checks for rent.
Property Manager at Barrington Park Townhomes, Responded To This Review
Hello, I appreciate your feedback and I would like to discuss your concerns with you in person. There have been some change to the property, but they are for the best. We have an amazing clubhouse being built with great amenities. You may reach me at 913-469-5449 and I would be more than happy to speak to you. Hope to hear from you soon, Ada Owen- Community Manager
I have been very happy living here and have not came across any issues.
The area is conveniently located, yet tucked back in behind things so it feels safe and very community oriented.
It's clean and safe. We like the walking trail. It's quiet at night.
I would recommend this community for someone that's in a tight financial spot and needs to live somewhere with flexibility.
Knowing more amenities are coming is positive- very glad about that. The neighborhood is fabulous and very homey, and I truly feel at home in my apartment. The only setback for long term living is the lack of a carport or garage. That being said, I really love the community and adding either of those would detract from the scenery and space...so I'm ok not having them.
Overall it is a nice community. I think that more maintenance staff is needed. My single biggest complaint is that there are too many large dogs allowed here. I am literally surrounded by tenants who have large dogs that are constantly barking which cuts into my sleep and frankly diminishes my quality of life. Some people may or may not clean up after their large dogs. When we moved in here I thought that there was a size limit but even if there isn't it still creates a problem for me.
My husband and I lived here for several years until we bought a house. We really enjoyed staying here. It was conveniently located to shops and restaurants and the highway. The space is great and they take good care of the property inside and out. It's like a home which we liked, so good not having anyone living above us and below us making a ton of noise. The washer and dryer hook ups in the basement was a plus too! Loved the staff, they were friendly and professional!
I lived in the property for 3 years. I was maintaining 70% (the small stuff) of the town-home in my own. Ruth, one of the employees, had some issues communicating with maintenance people. Started at move in with some miss installations, after that what fell apart. I had issues with the place from nails sticking out from the carpet, curtain rod was out of place, flooding....etc. after stopping by the office close to 10-15 times in the first two months ( after that it became a habit to stop by the office as i go to work throw-out the first year so i lost count). Every time i stop by to remind Ruth by the order and add the new issues, the face and the tone of voice as its my first time to replace a work order. by my last time i have mentioned living in that town home is becoming dangerous from nails sticking out from the carpet or walls or railing and i had my daughter at that time. I , also, mentioned i will give her a week then i will do the maintenance myself but i will not be held responsible. I pointed out the nails specifically and i have been told to tap it down with a hammer. And now I am. In the other hand, Flooding had took a big part of the irritable life. Its nice and convenient to send people to clean the obvious crab that flooded out of the drains but the stinky water is left for me to dry on my own. Complained to management ( even after the property owner got contacted in person). BUT, the blame is the resident for throwing towelette paper in the towelette.
The remodeling is done poorly so don't let the model units fool you. You get the option of an unfinished or finished basement, depending on availability, but we were lied to multiple times by multiple different people about what our basement would be. Staff may not have been intentionally lying, but then everyone was misinformed, which is unprofessional because we are PAYING for something specific. The basement is coated in dirt, dust, and other filth from the previous resident. You can't even see out of the basement window it's so filthy. Our backyard area is solid dirt, dog poop and rocks. We asked if it could get cleaned up or grass seed planted or anything, and were told no. We've submitted several maintenance requests, none of which have ever been completed. The property manager won't respond to our phone calls or emails. The rent is way too high for the quality of living and amenities...because there aren't any. The "playground" is unsafe. There is no workout facility, no dog park, no pool, no community office area, nothing, literally nothing. Seriously...do NOT live here. We can't wait to move, and would break our lease if it weren't for the SEVERAL thousand dollar fee.
We love living in Barrington Park Townhomes. It is very convenient to all of our favorite stores, restaurants, movie theater, and the mall. The area is safe and secluded from any major roads, which is also another plus. We are able to have our pets and a huge backyard. Also, the townhomes are spacious and well-maintained. Moving from Wyandotte County to Johnson County was a huge plus. The office and maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful when needed and maintenance is taken care of swiftly. It is a long drive to work, but worth it for the convenience and well-being we feel here. Our neighbors are friendly and we have made friends with some. I highly recommend living here.
This place only cares about taking your money and making it "look" better for future renters so they can up the price. Understanding that renovations and updates take time and can be headache, they still need to get their act together and communicate better to the residents. In the past 2 months this place has been doing updates such as painting, landscaping, door replacements and now starting to repave roads. Of course they give us a letter with such things saying if we don't move our car it will be towed or if our personal items are in anybody's way they will be disposed of, oh and this letter is given the day before. This still may not be too big of a problem if they would stick to their timeline. Nothing has started when it was supposed to and NOTHING was finished when it was supposed to. My neighbor got home at midnight and had to move all of their stuff off and away from the back porch because they were starting landscaping the next day...that was a week ago and they still haven't started. Myself and many other residents have been without a porch light for 2 months now and nobody seems to know when we're getting a new one. I'm just waiting for somebody to trip and fall cause its dark, break something, and sue this place. We were told last week that they would be repaving the road in front of our unit this Monday and Tuesday and that are cars needed to be moved or they would be towed. We thought, great, they finally let us know far enough ahead of time. Nothing happened Monday but there's still Tuesday and equipment is parked outside the night before so of course they're going to do what they said, nope. We moved our cars further north so they wouldn't get towed yet at 7am when our daughter is still sleeping we get our doorbell rang to move our cars back down because they're starting where we parked instead of where they said. We were then told that they might, MIGHT, start on Friday. I know this review is long but it is just one thing after another and the front never knows what is going on and all they say back is, "It will look good when its finished," news flash...it doesn't. You don't put new railings on old steps that are falling apart while everybody else has new steps, its an eye sore. So if you want to live somewhere where the dishwasher is actually a "sanitizer" not a washer, that is what they told us since it doesn't wash dishes very well, then come to Barrington. We will definitely be moving when our lease is up!!
I love my home at Barrington Park and always receive compliments when someone new visits. The office & management staff are professional, friendly, and responsive. The location is perfect being close to JCCC, shopping, highways, and my work:) The homes include full basements with washer and dryer hook up connections - great for storage and nice to be able to do laundry in your own place. The grounds are well-maintained with mowing and snow removal. There is a variety of ages within the complex. Pets are allowed and there is a nice paved walking trail with a small park at the end of the trail. My dog loves walking here! The complex also offers occasional activities and contests. I'm very happy living at Barrington Park Townhomes and would recommend it to others.
Barrington Park is a great place to live, safe, quiet and secluded but with easy access to all major highways. JCCC and OPRMC both less than 4 miles away. Shopping is convenient with stores just down the street. Neighbors are a mix of young adults to retirees. Management is friendly and easy to work with they are quick to fix problems should they arise. Property and grounds are well maintained during all seasons. All pets are welcomed.......
We have lived here for over a year. Its been pretty good. Could use a few upgrades like new air conditioners however. It is still a great place for the price. Nice quite little community.
Quite possibly the worst living experience I have had. Let me start by saing the office staff is very nice, however, there is NO communication what so ever. It was as though they didn't even know each others' names. Second, definitely don't choose these apartments if you have animals or young kids. The entire "block" that I lied on had issues of their dogs getting open wounds on their skin from the fertilizer being put down. From what we were all told, there is to be warning of it before being laid down and pets and children are not to be on it for 24-48 hours after it is done. We NEVER had one single warning about anything being sprayed and the office pretneded they knew nothing about it and just referred us to the lawn company. This happened multiple times the entire year I lived here, accumulating lots of money in vet bills. Third, if you don't like bugs, this isn't the place for you. The apartments have lots of cracks and are not well insulated. Spiders on ALL levels of the apartment are very common and when they 'spray,' it sure doesn't seem to help. Fourth, no worries on putting more than one person on the lease. There were multiple apartments with MANY people living in them, making all sorts of noise all through out the night yet didn't seem to get the offices attention, even when they were notified. Fifth, be sure to make copies of your key if you do plan on moving into these pieces. After having my locks changed after a break in, the office clained they didn't have a key to have my air conditioner fixed. Yes, a break in.. and a broken air conditioner, for TWO WHOLE DAYS at the end of June. For someone who works a normal job, sleeping in an apartment with an 85-90 bedroom isn't exactly comfortable...let alone having the entire apartment taht temperature. Like I said before, it took TWO summer days for the air conditioner to get fixed. Sixth, make sure to keep record of EVERYTHING you pay. After arguing for almost a week about overpaying my rent by $30 every month, they tried keeping the extra money, saying the pet deposit wasn't paid and multiple other things. Throwing the proof on their desk is what it took to get that back. ALl in all, terrible experience, take precaution when contemplating moving into these townhomes.
My husband and I loved living here! We stayed for 2 years! The only reason we moved out was b/c we couldn't afford the rent w/ me being on Maturity Leave. FYI: the rent WILL go up at LEAST $25 each year you stay. We loved the way the neighborhood felt - more like a subdivision rather than a Apt Complex. The kids were decently behaved kids, their yard maintenance is amazing, so is their Maintenance period. The only down fall (which they cannot help) was our neighbors. Their kid would throw tantrums and rattle our walls - but i am sure our dog wasn't the best to live by either (barked each time we left). I loved the all the room; the basement, the Large bathrooms! It’s a very nice place to live. Great for a 1st time couple, single m/f, and/or roommates.
