Property Ratings at Barton Vineyard Apartments
Where should I begin? My Husband and I have lived here for a little over 6 months. We decided to move into these apartments and spend the extra money because we thought they were the nicest in the area. WRONG! Since moving in we have had nothing but problems. Our car was broken into by an heroin addict (btw there is a homeless encampment in the orange groves next to the apartments) that was a great call at 3am from the police asking me to come and claim the property that was removed from my vehicle. There is always someone digging through the trash bins, for fear of identity theft I am afraid to throw old mail away. The pool is infested with roaches, when I called to let the office know, they told me that they are American cockroaches and they live outside but won’t come into our apartment. Well the disgusting part about this, is that the only outdoor gas bbq is in the pool area. I can only assume that these disease infested vermin are feeding on the leftovers present in the bbq area. I no longer am able to use the spa at night because if we have a drink sitting on the edge of the spa the roaches crawl on it. They charge ridiculous fees for everything and there is NEVER parking. My husband has had to park on the complete opposite side of the complex on several occasions and walk to our apartment. The office calls and harasses you about picking up poop, even though they will not restock poo bags for weeks sometimes. There is always a malfunction with the gates and a lot of times the gates are just left open all day for anyone to come into the complex. Overall, I wish we had not moved into this place. I am counting down the day until our lease is up. If possible we would leave and go somewhere else but for now we are stuck. BE WARNED!
I have now been in my wonderful apartment home for 5 days, I am very happy to live here. The staff helped me so much upon move in and explained everything in detail. They were wonderful and experienced. I filled out a maintenance request for my drain plug that I could not get loose( user error) and maintenance was at my door within 15 minutes. This place is great, if you want to live in a nice upkeep place Barton vineyards is the place to live.
Horrible experience! During our one year living here, we have seen cockroaches everywhere in/out the apartment (we moved from a state that barely has those species), molds at every corner and on windowsills (the officer told us to clean them by ourselves !!) during wet season, cars broken in, bicycles stolen, three burglaries. The entrance gates were broken/malfunctioning quite often, not a closed community, there are a few trails lead to the outside. I also saw a skunk around the pool area and that horrible smell stays there all the time. Someone also saw black widow spider at the gazebo near the basketball court, where kids gathered to play. Meanwhile, BE CAUTIOUS! they charged us VERY HIGH moving out cost, way too high than you can even think of. They bought very low quality appliances (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, I happened to know the price of them when I was on the market seeking appliances for my old house, the refrigerator at most 800 dollars, stove 400-500 dollars, dishwasher around 300 dollars), the drawers of the refrigerator kept broken since the first month we moved in (we are all gentle peoples, our old refrigerator was perfect after several years usage), one burner stopped working within a year. I can say, they should regret and pay us back extra money for installing those low quality appliances to annoy/ruin our daily life, considering how much rent we paid them every month. They would charge us full price for replacing them if anything is not in the condition as it was received (How ridiculous it is, are you advising us not to use stove for cooking?). They would charge us 495 dollars for the cooktop because it is not like new (we cleaned it using professional cleaner before we moved out and it is functional expect one burner has shortcut), and 58 dollars for a crack on a drawer of the refrigerator. After negotiate, they charged us 315 dollars for the cooktop. Other than that, many other charges as you can expect. If I knew they were going to charge us for everything, I would advise my husband not to do anything before the move out. We cleaned everything and made the unit as neat as it could be, my husband even repainted the nail holes. Look how reasonable we are, compare to the greedy businessmen. Think carefully before you make the decision to move in.
Horrible customer service. I would advice you not to move here. Staff is beyond rude, and the apartments are over priced.
Please do NOT be fooled, this place is cheap and fake. WAY WAY overpriced. My apartment sucks and I cant get rid of these nasty little cockroaches. Its disgusting really.
Horrible staff. No communication. Overcharge and without contacting reports to collection agencies
this apartment complex seeks professional, responsible tenants by charging a bit more and trying to keep the place in good repair and looking nice. They frequently treat the tenants, however, in a manner that will not keep professionals or an average intelligent person from recommending them. current management practices will degrade this property there are many thinly veiled attempts to extract more money from the tenant, especially during move out procedures . it is not enough to sign a lease stating when you will move out. if you do not formally, in writing, restate your intention to vacate 2 months in advance - you are charged as if you were staying. the additional rent for days we were not living there - after we moved out is higher than the original and additional surcharge was added for the imposed short term extension. their practices to extract more $$ are unjust and demoralizing. the local management hides behind "the corporate office", which they state tells them what they have to do . also, their excessive use of the irrigation system in the setting of the current drought is shameful.
I love it! All the staff is friendly. I feel safe and happy here.
Barton Vineyards seems like a great place to live, and they definitely do a good job at convincing you that they need to live there. But be warned. After you sign the lease, they are more worried about getting your money then making sure you are comfortable in your home. Apartments are decent, but not worth the cost. Office staff changes frequently and you have to wonder if its due to poor management. Rent prices go up at least $100/ month a year, and when asked why the increase no answer was given. Office staff do not care about your general well being, and would rather make a dollar then care about their residents.
barton Vineyard Apts are excellent. definitely spacious. Lily and the personnel are helpful and always glad to help. not complaining but the pool could be heated. I would stay here longer but I need more space. very thankful having stayed here for a year and a half.
Barton Vineyard is a wonderful complex. The staff has been great and friendly from the beginning, which me and my wife welcomed because we usually get shunned because we look younger. Our unit is the bigger 1 bedroom and it is plenty big! giant walk in closet for her, standard size for me, and multiple storage closets throughout. Grounds are well kept, pools are clean, noise is minimal which is great with my wife having to study or us just wanting a quiet night. Others tenants have been friendly or keep to themselves which is fine with us. No one has parked in our assigned spot, and there is plenty of very close open parking stalls for my truck and any visitors. I definitely recommend Barton Vineyard if you're in the market for a very nice apartment!
