Overlooking Grand Traverse Bay in Northern Michigan, Traverse City is gorgeous -- a lush, green landscape along the sparkling waters of Lake Michigan. It is considered one of the state's top fishing regions, the nation's largest producer of tart cherries, home to spectacular vineyards, beaches and a National Lakeshore, forests, fantastic boating and sailing, and ski areas. Because of everything Traverse City offers, it is considered a top tourist destination -- and an amazing place to live.
The heart of the city, Downtown Traverse City, is a walkable blend of unique shops, art galleries, top-rated restaurants, theaters, and the Downtown Farmers Market. Downtown is home to the largest film festival in the Midwest, the Traverse City Film Festival. Also held downtown, you won't want to miss the National Cherry Festival in July. Be sure to check out the historic City Opera House, built in 1891, or catch a play at the Old Town Playhouse.

Last minute contacted me to let me know I could schedule a hold on an apartment, I was given two weeks to move in. I paid $300 only for them to let me know five days before move in that they could not accept me because my paycheck was just 48.00 and some change above the allowance. I had already scheduled EVERYTHING and this was after they messed up the rent and told me a lower price than I would be paying. RUN from this team, they’re disorganized and placed the manager placed the blame on me.
Maintenance is awful, Very slow at getting work orders done, maintenance employees are very shady in daily routines and look like rejects left over from a top end complex, and can’t trust them to be in your home(fields)!!!!! Property manager will throw good working employees under the bus to save his job!!! ( only place I know of where the property manager gets caught on company property cheating on his wife and still has a job). The girls in the front office are amazing that is the only good thing about the front office !!!! If you have nowhere else to go that would be a roof over your head otherwise I would suggest finding other places to rent from.
I have lived in Bayhill going on more than four years now. I have seen amazing drastic changes and positive developments take place in my Bayhill community. Thanks to a strong office leadership of bay hills staff: Marcus, Jennifer, and Valerie, and their maintenance team; they have been working tirelessly over the last couple of years greatly improving the standard of living for all who call Bayhill there home. Including recently a complete remodel to the entire facility inside and out giving a much more vibrant and modern day feel. Bayhill is a great home to me, with great ties and relations to my neighbors. Bayhill has a very safe atmosphere where kids can play and use the facilities clean and child-friendly playgrounds. I have greatly enjoyed living here and look forward to watching and being apart of the positive progress Bayhill is making. With such a great location so near to downtown Traverse City and recreational areas, as well as so close to my work and the local Northwestern Michigan College campus, it is an ideal place to call home while I to grow in my career and academics.
I've lived in bay hill for over 6 years and it started out as a great place to raise my little girls. Things have gotten really bad around here and it's ashame because this apartment complex has great potential but unfortunately the owners/management only care about masking money and not their tenants. There's so many people around here including myself with major maintenence issues and yet months and years go by without the issues being repaired. For example, last summer I had a mold issue in my unit and it took them several months to tend to the problem only because I filed a complaint. Then management wanted me to pay for it. My mold issue to this day never got fixed properly :( My advice to prospect renters is take complete caution when deciding to rent at bay hill especially if you have little ones.
