Property Ratings at Bay House
I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. Roaches, rats, crumbling concrete on the balconies and stairs, MOLD, MOLD, MOLD, EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK, MOLD. Mildew, popping electric outlets, crime galore, expect someone to break into your car or to get shot walking into your apartment. Maintenance is worthless and the leasing office is even worse. Rude is the nicest word I could use to describe them. My place fell apart for a full year and they did NOTHING. Don't. Do. It.
Ever since new management took over, the complex has gone extremely downhill. The heat, ventilation, and AC system doesn't work, and management's solution is to verbally tell you (and refuse to put it in writing) to buy a window unit and they will reimburse you. Once you do, they refuse the reimbursement since it's not in writing. Any other maintenance issues take weeks, if not months, to resolve, even if the apartment is basically unlivable during the time. There are routine flooding issues from backed up water pipes. Management, earlier this year, was listing some units on AirBnB. They claimed they stopped, and yet I've talked to two different 'neighbors' who said they rented the units off AirBnB. And now, they are towing cars for parking in unmarked "assigned" parking, and claiming they notified residents, when there has been no notification whatsoever. Only you waking up to find your car gone. Talking with another man in the parking lot, apparently 5 were towed this past weekend alone. No visible signs, no markings to differentiate the spots from other spots, no notification spots were assigned at all. I genuinely believe they are trying to force all residents out so they can convert the entire building to AirBnB units. Rent at your own risk. I wish I hadn't renewed my lease earlier this year, and I'm just counting down the days until I can leave.

my car was stolen from the paid parking here! extremely unsafe place to live. high crime and the apartments are hot all summer and freezing all winter. plus they have lightning in the interior and outside that is automatic that only provides you with 45 seconds of light. they "renovate" yearly so you are always paying more and more for the same low quality living. do not sign a lease here if you know what's good for you!!

This place is full of black mold, Maintenance sucks, the management is SUPER unprofessional. They text you all hours of the day with information that has nothing to do with you. Every week there is a sewage leak, Yes raw human waste in the parking area! And the pool is always green!
I went on a visit for a whole different 1 bedroom but none was available, So I was able to see a bigger one and I was truly amazed of how good it looks on the inside. It gave me a penthouse vibe, although a kitchen was a lil small but I hardly cook so it didn’t matter. I would definitely recommend this apartment and plus it’s all bills paid, you cannot beat that. Very worth it
I really like it here. It's an older place and I think that's what like best. My apartment is very comfortable and I love sitting out by the pool reading my book. I've also started use the new fitness center
Nice quiet little properly. I'm by myself most of the time, I love the fact I always feel safe with the police station being right here! I love the office staff, there all so nice, and unlike my last apartments maintenance comes quick.
I love it here my apartment is really big with lots of storage and closet space. I live in a townhouse and love to sit on my upstairs balcony in the morning looking at the lake while I drink my coffee. It is really quiet here and I love all the big trees. I am close to everything and the staff is really nice.
I moved in to a 2 bedroom about 9 months ago and love it, I have lots of closet space and I don't feel cramped like I did in my last apartment. The office people are really nice and the maintenance guy when I have called in work orders has fixed everything. The only thing I can say I would like that I don't have is washer and dryer connections.
The showers don't hold a constant temperature and will burn you one minute and then freeze you the next.
So first they show you their model apartment and that's all flashy and clean and welcoming right behind the office and tell you how great the apartments are and that they have remodeled them and all that but once you sign the lease you see your apartment and it's a whole other story. Smokers are everywhere so their smoke free is pretty much a lie. The bathroom in my apartment was not remodeled and had cracking tiles in the shower that they "fixed" by rubbing grout into it and dropping it into the tub where it is now near impossible to remove. The bathroom also has a service hatch that leaks water for some unknown reason and has destroyed my girlfriend's makeup. The floors are nowhere close to flat. The neighbors have trash over flowing off their patios and ours is covered in paint from the last renter. Bugs everywhere inside and out I've had to spay for bugs every month and sometimes twice a month. And to top it off the fireplaces that they say you can use are not up to code my downstairs neighbor told me as smoke filled her apartment. So in all if you don't mind living in poor conditions just to save a buck then I guess this is the place for you but if you have more common sense then I did don't waste your time or money looking at these apartments. Save yourself. And the mold is everywhere. In the air vents! I'm the sinks! Every...where

Hello, Thank you for your unbiased review. We will always show a vacant if we have one available. The model does not have anything special, it just has furniture to display how the layout could be used. In fact, we now have more upgrades in our vacant than our model itself. We are not a smoke free property, we do not require anyone to sign a smoke free addendum nor do we advertise nor have we advertised that we are smoke free since management took over in 2015. Unfortunately the previous apartment communities website still shows on a few sites, in 2014 the property was advertised as smoke free, but has not been since. If asked at application, the office staff would let you know, we do not have a policy on being a smoke free community. If you see my response, please let us know immediately what apartment had an issue with the fire place. We have not had an issue reported, we would love to assist, but first we need to know where assistance is needed. As far as trash goes from neighbors, please report it, we charge a violation fee for trash left out. Sorry to hear you have had issues with pest, we have re-occurring pest control weekly at no charge to you. I'm sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with your apartment home, but do know if you report an issue, we take care of it promptly. Please contact the office and allow us to assist you. If a problem isn't reported, we can't fix it.
The bay house apartments is right next to the water with a gorgeous view from the water. They have upgraded the entire complex and I love the improvements. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone who loves a peaceful view.
I've lived in these apartments since April 2014, and the managers are great people! It's all bills paid (having a constant AC is a must for me), and I have a HUGE one bedroom apartment for $785 a month! The living room is the most spacious I've seen in a one bedroom apartment in this area for this decent of a price. There are 2 swimming pools which are kept up on, and they're currently doing renovations to make the complex look even better than it was before.
The Bay House Apartments have a wonderful location. With a dock overlooking Clear Lake right behind the complex and many restaurants/cafes within walking distances, there's plenty of opportunity for exploration. The staff immediately struck me as personable and friendly, offering a homey atmosphere. Plenty of parking and the buildings have recently been renovated. I currently have no complaints.
I absolutely love the apartment itself, however there's always a hamartia. There's a bit of a pest control issue. At least the complex offers exterminators but so far it hasn't gotten rid of them completely. If it weren't for that, and maybe washer and dryer in unit this place would be my dream. Very big and open, affordable, and all bills paid too!
