Bay Oaks

Moved from out of state. Looked nice with great location and price. Signed and leasing staff appeared nice. Then, once moved in tried to flush the toilet. First flush with nothing but water in it, the toilet started to overflow. Flooded bathroom and the sewage then backed up into shower. Repeatedly asked in person to clean carpet in person and was not clean from where the maintenance kept moving the sewage water into the sidewalk outside. They cleaned it days later after moving into the apartment. Did not replace it. No compensation or any adjustment outside of repeatedly asking management in person to clean the carpet and the bathroom. They cleaned it - but it was not the same day nor the next. That's the facts and experience from my move. Up to you whether you want to live here. Would give it zero stars if I could.

Bay Oaks is a great place to call "home". The entire staff Naomi, Jeanne, Jeremy and Octavio always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise . The grounds are maintained on a weekly basis and the pool area is very clean and also very well maintained. Maintenance requests are attended to and completed in a very timely manner. You usually receive an email confirmation when the work is complete. The price is so on point if you want to live in the South Tampa area and near Bayshore. I previously lived in a one bedroom and was going to have to move due to a change income when Naomi the Manager suggested I stay and move into a Studio. Best advice ever. The transfer from one unit to another was a breeze. I had no many questions and the office staff went well beyond the norm to provide excellent customer service. I felt very valued as a Resident. During the recent Hurricane I was out of State and was very concerned about my unit since we are so close to Bayshore and flooding is an issue. Several emails were sent keeping in the loop what was happening at the Complex. That really shows how the Staff cares. I would have to say the best thing about living here is that most every resident here is very respectful and quiet. I have lived in a Condo and many Apartments and have never lived in such a quiet community. I live alone here and could not feel safer anywhere else. I highly recommend living at Bay Oaks!

Pros: -LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION -Located on Bayshore! -$5 uber to Soho/Downtown -Older construction with thicker, sound resistant walls -Open kitchen/ living area -Walk in closet -Detached bathroom -lots of parking/no visitor limitations -High(er) quality carpet -pool on site -grills on site -online rent pay Cons - no kitchen counter/bathroom counter space -no ceiling fans -no microwave (or space for one) -small outdoor area -outdated counter surfaces -1 small storage closet -active train track behind complex -lackadaisical office staff/management. Slow to address issues/maintenance concerns -no washer/dryer or hookup-must use facilities and pay per load -termites Overall, this apartment is fair for the average young professional who isn't looking for a lot of frills. It is manageable, considering the location which is hard to beat!

Used to be a great place to live but a change in management has lowered the standards. Beautiful view of bayshore, great pool, and decent apartments (just a little old). But a VERY high rent considering there's NO WASHER/DRYER in unit!!!!!! It used to not bother me so much, and it was worth it because it was a very social, fun place to live with activities and parties and events. But now under new management there's just a certain level of service that's fallen off which really disappoints. Its sad because it really is a beautiful location... just missing a certain something now.
