Property Ratings at Bayberry Place Townhomes
If there is any such thing as zero or negative start, that would have been appropriate. This is the worst experience I had with any apartment. The air conditioning is broken and I have reported it for over 1 month (I mean for the month of June &July) the hottest months of the year and they have not fix the problem still. The reception was not helpful when I initially report and she sounded and acted as if it’s my fault that they did fix it. The temperature is in the 90 degrees out they seem to care less about what their tenants feels and living conditions. It’s unfortunate that’s they did not hold their part of the bargain. Rents get paid timely, yet my maintenance request fall on deaf ears. If you are someone who keeps your words and deserved the same; if you don’t want to be running after or begging for your maintenance requests to be honored, look some where. I can’t wait to end my lease. The windows are loose and flies storm in the house even when the windows are shut and locked, I have reported it and still have to deal with it. This is not to mentioned about the cockroaches. The apartments are infested.

I've been here since May and my AC has been broken since the day I moved in. I have major health issues that have sent me to the hospital 3 times due to the extreme heat in my apartment. I literally went to the emergency room because my body was shutting down from the heat. what does the office do? nothing. they constantly want access but never give me a legit day they want to come in, want you to lock your dog up in a tiny room all day if you work and they come by, they expect you to download new apps to Pay bills. they've never been of help to me, they've been very rude to me in the office and here I am in December and my heater works but you know what's around the corner? spring. which means myAC will still not be fixed and I'll be back in the hospital.

Just being helpful. But when you enter a room look up look down look left look right because ROACHES are watching you. Also as you are cooking make sure you stand guard of your food or the ROACHES will be eating it before you. The other week my wife was cooking hamburgers. She left the kitchen just for a quick second and sure enough a roach on the hamburgers. Nasty. And the management doesn't care. No one cares that my wife has medical problems and these cause more issues for her. Good luck. Btw you also pay pest control as part of your rent.

Loud neighbors who are angry and agressive, not good if you have small kids. They go late into the night partying or fighting and don't take kindly to you wanting them to be quiet. My toilet didn't work and was over flowing and it took maintenance 2 days to get here cause their emergency maintenance line "wasn't working" right and the front office was closed. The apartment I was shown was nice but the one I got is gross. They allow smoking inside and the whole place stinks of it (didn't have that when I first moved in). My front door lock was broken and even though maintenance fixed it it still doesn't work right and is not effective, bought a security bar. Been here almost two months and still do not have a key to my mail box. I could keep going... I completely regret signing a lease.

Honestly, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This place is an absolute joke! When you call the office, no one ever answers. Your townhouse looks NOTHING like the model home, what you get is an old place, with old cabinets, moldy basements, walls that were previously punched by old tenants and covered with plaster. People drive extremely fast, within the past 2 months there has been drive-by’s! The “replacement” windows and doors are a JOKE, don’t let them fool you during the tour they were not placed properly. Overall, it’s NOT A SAFE PLACE and they raised the rent, it’s not worth the money they are asking for! Most definitely NOT renewing my lease!

Please give me a call here at the office at 614-891-7898 and I would love to assist you. Sincerely, Christina Miranda, Property Manager
Please do not lease at the bayberry. The place is infested with roaches and mice. After almost a year they finally sprayed. The management is rude and does not care about you. The apartment is rundown and everything leaks. Maintenance has so many orders, every request takes on average 1-3 weeks to address. You have to keep calling the office to get anything done. Such a waste of money. Plenty of apartments and townhomes that are better for the price. The neighbors blast music at all hours of the night/day. Rental office does not do anything. They need to tear down these townhomes and start again. They charged me a late fee, even though I never paid late. I had to go through hoops with my bank to get the late fee dismissed. They were never apologetic. Counting down the days until my lease is done.
The new management treats everyone really bad like they nothing. They never answer their phone no more and once they say they will call back for update they never do. This place used to be better when sara was manager but now it’s trash..... moving as soon as I can when my contract ends....
please folks read the reviews..apartment infested with mice..bed bugs..dog poops everywhere in the grass..poor heating system..overal not worth the price.
They have roaches and rats everywhere and they never answer their office phone. I have pictures of rats and roaches i took from the apartment. Everyday i catch rats and roaches are just every where.
My husband, toddler and I lived at Bayberry for two years. We never paid rent late (in spite of being charged a late fee one month) and never had any complaints against us. The women in the leasing office (and I'm specifying women, because the man who was working there was very nice) were rude, condescending and churlish. We paid for stickers to put on our cars so we could park in the parking lot next to our unit-- the front office allowed a tow truck to tow my husband's car because it was difficult to see his sticker since he had tinted windows. The tow company said that they made a mistake and they would release his car free of charge if the office called and requested that they do so. They refused. It ended up costing us more than $200 even though he was authorized to use the parking lot. Our apartment wasn't bad, considering that it was an older building, but there was only 2-3ft of counter space in the entire kitchen and no dishwasher so half of that space was used for a drying rack. There were mice in the basement and the basement flooded almost every time it rained. On two occasions we were left by ourselves (in the middle of the night) to move the entire contents of our basement upstairs and mop up several inches of water. The maintenance guys (who were always super helpful and pleasant even though they're overworked) installed a new pump in our basement but it usually didn't turn on when it rained so there continued to be flooding in our basement and the basements of units adjacent to ours. In spite of us notifying the leasing office of the condition of our basement (in writing, two months before we moved out) they still saw fit to dock money from our security deposit for the paint that peeled off the basement floor from the flooding. They also kept $50 from our deposit because we left two plastic safety covers on the upstairs bedroom doors when we moved out. We stayed an extra two days at the apartment deep-cleaning and painting, and knowing they would try to rip us off, I took videos of every inch of the apartment before we left. They still kept almost half of our $750 security deposit in spite of my documentation and they won't return my (or my husband's) many repeated phone calls and messages. I've lived in many different apartments over the last thirteen years and I've never come across so much hostility and unprofessionalism-- especially considering that we're model tenants who have never caused any issues and who take good care of our home.
Look somewhere else don’t waste your time here. The place is infested with cockroaches and rats. They don’t do anything to help get rid of bugs. No one in the office acknowledges the cockroach problem and never mention it when applying. The basement floods every time and they refuse to change the carpet or send someone to clean it up. People smoke weed in the parking lots and when the office is notified they do nothing about it. The basement always smells like weed also. In the winters it’s unbearable to live. The heat works terrible and the bedrooms get supper cold that you have to tape plastic into the walls. Cars get towed all the time even when you have the sticker on the windshield. One time my bathroom switch was sparking and they refused to fix it till the next following days even after I told them sparks were flying and it could be a hazard. They only allow 2 cars per apartment unit and everyday the parking lots are overflowing that you have to park on the street. Cars get broken into all the time and stolen. People drive over the speed limit when children are playing outside and office does not reinforce the limit.

Thank you for your feed back, we are so sorry to hear that you had this experience. We have a new manager and assistant manager in the office that can help. Can you please call the office at 614-891-7898 or stop by so that we can talk about these issues more in depth and ensure we are getting all of your requests taken care of. Ask for Amber or Marlena. Thank you.
I moved into one of the town homes on Bayfield Court a couple of years ago and I thought it would be a good place to live. Its better than where I used to live but there are still lots of problems. I have a job that requires me to get up at around 5:00 every morning but sometimes the other people who live around here are so loud in the middle of the night. They play video games all the time and when I try to ask them to turn it down so I can sleep they get mad and tell me to mind my own business. The mother looks like she's stoned all the time. They and other people who live in my building hang out in the parking lot in front of our house at night, sitting around on the hoods of their cars and talking and drinking. Sometimes they laugh so loud they wake me up. They also throw their cigarette butts all over the place, even on my front porch. I've tried to be nice and talk to them but they don't care. So I decided that I won't renew my lease when it's up in a few months. Maybe other parts of the property are quieter, but from what I've heard its the same all over.

If I were you, I'd look elsewhere. We moved here in April of 2018, and within a couple of months of living here we decided that we would not renew our lease. First of all, don't let the pictures online of the model home fool you. The model has nice paint, nice carpet, is bright, and is really attractive. What you get is dark and drab. The kitchen cabinets are dark brown, and the carpet is shaggy and dark brown. And the paint job in the townhome they gave us is really crappy. The basement smells like weed all the time because our neighbors smoke up constantly and the walls in the basement don't even go up to the ceilings. The house is poorly insulated, and the windows let in so much cold air in the winter that the electric bill was sky high. If that wasn't bad enough, the people who live in this area are loud and dirty. I have seen people literally throw little bags of garbage out of their patio into the grassy area, and they never clean up after their dogs when they poop. Some guy on Deewood Court, where we lived, would go outside and turn his car on, roll down the windows, turn up his radio so loud that the bass in the music would vibrate the building, and just sit out there on the hood of his car talking on the phone. He would do this for hours at a time. When one of the other neighbors confronted him about it, he got cocky and told her that he would mess her face up if she didn't leave him alone. Don't bother complaining to the management about any of this because they won't do anything about. They're nice people, but they're letting this place fall apart. We've moved to a much better place and are so much happier.
Here are the reasons I have decided to leave after living here for only one year: 1. Some of the people in this neighborhood drive like maniacs, with no regard whatsoever for the children on bikes. I have fully expected to see a kid run over at any time. 2. My neighbors on both side smoke like chimneys both inside and outside their homes. It is so bad that I cannot even sit on my patio because I am surrounded by clouds of smoke. That smoke also penetrates my own windows and doors, which do not seal very well, and the inside of my own house sometimes smells like an ashtray. 3. Many of the people here have no regard whatsoever for their dogs' poop. They let their dogs poop everywhere, both in the grass and on sidewalks. And to make it worse, some of the children run up and down the sidewalk in front of my home and smear the poop across the sidewalk with their shoes. It's absolutely disgusting. 4. I have seen so many people open candy bars and other food items and just throw the wrappers on the ground, showing no regard at all for the fact that they are littering and making the place look trashy -- literally. 5. In the unfinished part of my basement, the walls are not sealed at the top close to the ceiling. Which means, I can literally look over into my neighbors' basements. Go back up to #2 -- my neighbors smoke a lot, and their basements are like ashtrays, which means that I have all that smoke coming over into my basement as well. I've had to put air purifiers on all three floors of this townhouse, and it still smells. 6. When it rains, the basement becomes incredibly wet because the yard outside has no proper drainage system. Black mold is growing all over the wall of the basement, which I have tried to keep under control with bleach and other mold agents. I reported it to the maintenance guy when he was in for some other issue, and he said that he would take care of it. But nothing has been done. They'll likely just paint over it when I move and let it start growing back again when the next people move in. 7. There are several people who like to drive very slowly down the street at around 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning, blasting loud thumping rap music. It wakes me almost literally every night.
My family and I have lived at Bayberry since 2009, and we love it here. We have considered moving, just for a change of scenery, but we can't find other apartments with a back patio like bayberry, or an apartment complex around here that looks like the owners care. I like this area of town, but I would have to say bayberry Is the best kept up apartment complex around here. We love our back patio! We spend a lot of time in our back patio in the summer. I plant flowers, and we BBQ a lot. It's pretty quiet around here, never had any issues with my neighbors. We all seem to look out for each other around here. Management has been great! The times I have called in a work request it has been taken care of fast. The girls in the office are nice! We enjoy the pool, the pool is always very clean. They also have a big summer pool party! last year they had an after hour swim at night with a DJ that was fun! Thankfully we have not had any problems with roaches, but I did with mice one time, but it was because we keep our back patio door open a lot. I do and would recommend bayberry.
I COULDN'T UNPACK THE UHAUL WITHOUT THE ROACHES GREETING US AT THE DOOR. WHEN I INFORMED THE RENTAL OFFICE STAFF OF THE INFESTION THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL THEY TALK TO THE MANAGER. I DEMANDED THEY GET TERMINIX TO THE APARTMENT SO I COULD MOVE MY BELONGS IN. THE RENTAL NEVER DID ANYTHING ABOUT THE PEST. I HAD TO PURCHASE A CONTRACT WITH TERMINIX WITH MY OWN MONEY. I STILL WAS NOT FREE OF THE PEST BECAUSE THE NEIGHBORS HAD THEM AND THAT IS WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM. THE RATS RUN AROUND IN THE BASEMENT, PRIMARLY. THE NEIGHBORS SMOKE WEED AND THE STINKY SMELL COMES TO MY APARTMENT. THE NEIGHBORS ARE NOT CONSIDERATE THEY TAKE UP ALL THE PARKING SPOTS AND YOU CAN'T PARK NEAR YOUR APARTMENT. IN THE WINTER TIME EVERY MAN IS FOR HIMSELF THE RENTAL OFFICE DID NOTHING. WHEN MY MAN WOULD SHOVEL A SPOT FOR ME TO PARK IN WHEN I GOT OFF OF WORK SOMEONE WOULD TRY TO TAKE IT. THE NEIGHBORS DIDN'T WATCH THE KIDS AND THEY WOULD AT TIMES THROW BASKETBALLS AT THE FRONT DOOR WHICH SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE WAS KICKING DOWN THE DOOR. NOT A PEACEFUL PLACE OR ENVIROMENT. THE ROOMS ARE SMALL AND YOU CAN HEAR YOUR NEIGHBORS EVERY MOVE!!!! I WENT TO PICK UP MY SUV FROM THE POUNDED AND THEY WERE THE NASTIEST PEOPLE EVER. THEY MADE US WALK DOWN CLEVELAND AVENUE TO WHERE THE CAR WAS IMPOUNDED IN THE WINTER TIME THROUGH THE SNOW AND ICE. NO RATING BECAUSE THEY ARE ZERO'S!!!
Well I never lived in an apartment before I move to Columbus so I think it's okay when you call on them they come out. I don't like that the water it's added on to the rent what is doable it's only been 7 months so so far so good.
