Property Ratings at Baywood
Very rude, weren't able to find a solution to the application i made and didn't get my money back made multiple calls to find a solution or a way for my spouse to do the application and every call i made they were rude, unprofessional and apparently couldn't help me through the phone and apparently a day after i made the application the unit i paid a fee to hold was already taken. Wouldn’t recommend even if it was the last place available.
I wish I could give a rating of ZERO. The office staff is rude, unprofessional and just awful to talk to. Don't expect to pay the price you're quoted. Have an extra $50-$80 a month to cover all of the added fees. Also be prepared for your rent to increase every year with no explanation. And if something breaks in your unit GOD BLESS. The maintenance staff is even worse than the front office staff(I didn't think it could be worse). Just save yourself the stress and move elsewhere!!!
The agents when I arrived wasn’t even interested in greeting me and was blowing me off acting like uninterested this is NOT customer service.
I was very close to becoming a resident at Baywood apartments. After securing a deposit, and moving in less than 2 weeks I received a call from from the apartment complex I originally wanted and so glad I did! I lost out on a $400 deposit (non refundable) but it was worth it. First off, apartments look beautiful from the outside but once you drive into the complex it is very outdated and needs serious renovation. For 1b/1ba the price could have been a little lower than what's asked. Kitchen was a little outdated, with a few broken cabinets, no privacy in bedroom because your w/d is located in there along with your bathroom which isn't all that huge. There was also no light switch in my bedroom. When noticed, I was told by management I would have to put a lamp in there. Living area was a nice size but upon just viewing the apartment, I could hear steps from above! Obviously the walls were pretty thin, which was also a concern of mine. Trash was everywhere around the dumpster and really gave off not so "clean vibe". Apartment leasing agents are young but could be a little more professional when answering the phone and not just "Baywood Apartments". I have heard many negative reviews about these apartments. I have never leased but being close to just glad God placed me where I originally wanted. Apartments can use some updates in a few areas for what's being asked for rent.
I’ve been in Baywood for a little over 10 months and I must say it has been an interesting stay. Upon moving in the unit, it smelled heavily of weed so I bought air purifiers to clear the smell, but that doesn’t help when the neighbors decide to smoke it’s legit almost a contact high. The worst part is after a month I started hearing sounds in the walls and ceiling like scratching or shattering. The units are housed with rodents and once I noticed they were coming into my kitchen, maintenance would only offer sticky pads to put down. Let’s not forget termite season, termites were literally coming into the kitchen and bathroom. Termites were crawling through the light fixtures and vanity mirror in the bathroom like the plague! It was horrible! I notified the office and they sent out pest control, but my best defense was a can of raid. The office staff has been pretty helpful but the apartments are just too outdated! Too many other creatures call this place home as well!
I know this is long but read before considering this dump. First and foremost these apartments are NOT luxury. Stay as afar away from this management team as possible Husband and I were coming from California where luxury really means LUXURY. We blindly signed a lease with out touring and yes that was our fault and mistake but don’t make the mistake we did and go off their photoshopped picture because the complex looks nothing like the pictures. It is run down and trash everywhere. Poop everywhere! When we first got our apartment first day opening the door we got hit with an awful smell of tabaco and weed and roaches. That same day we brought it up to Morgan the manager and she said she wouldn’t repaint but send someone to “deodorize the carpets” and basically said we were spoiled in California and we couldn’t compare the 2 states. I told her my son has lung issues and that wouldn’t be okay for his health as a cancer survivor with various issues. Long story short she followed me to out apartments and got on all fours to sniff the carpet, she said “it smells fine it smells like cinnamon what they use to deodorize the carpets” soo those 2 first night my family and I stayed at hotel because the smell was unbearable. After we finally came back to settle in with our things I started to clean (mind you the charge you a cleaning fee) I was shocked because behind all doors there was cigarette butts and trash every single door. I honestly couldn’t even make this up. I figure bringing it to management wouldn’t do much since from the first day they didn’t do anything. I just counted down the days for my lease to be over with. Everything breaks and getting some one to come and fix it is a nightmare. You basically have to call them out on their comments on social media for them to care. There is so much more but to chop it off baywood and MMI only care about your money. Not you or your health or your living conditions.
Do your self a favor and don’t move here. The worst apartment complex you’ll ever move into. Run down, dirt everywhere, management is awful! I’d be here all day saying all the things that Is wrong with it. AC unit doesn’t work, carpets are smelly, paper thing walls... there is absolutely NOTHING luxury about this place...
Awful awful awful.... I am a resident now awful awful awful everything about this place is awful.
Not sure where to start . Well start on the ourside and work our way in. “New management” has only made some inconvenient land scape changes and bought a bright red sign to remind us when rent is due. They send out ridiculously unprofessional news letters. The gates don’t work so anyone can drive through. The porches on the apartments are slanted inward so water pools up and comes in. There’s dozens of stray cats that scratch your car and walk in your door. If you live on the bottom don’t hang pictures because your neighbors walking down the stairs will make them fall. Nothing gets fixed when you cal maintenance, and they just walk in and leave a “we were here note” and walk out. (Bet they didn’t know i was in my room). Probably because one out of two men I’ve seen in maintenance uniforms hides his golf cart behind the building across from me and spends all day in an apartment once the husband leaves. The floor feels like a trailer wall. And the bathroom is made of the most disgusting “bath fitter” type things I’ve ever seen and it has air pockets under! The hot water only stays hot 5 minuets max. And the walls are so thin i think i may be learning Spanish through the wall. And i know that someone in that family pees in the shower. I would recommend a card board box before baywood.
Dont not let management fool you. You pay for water and after a minute the hot water turns cold. Cats everywhere. Dirty water, employees are rude and not helpful.
This was the worst choice I ever made for an apartment. I moved in these apartments to be closer to family. From the moment i moved in ive had problems, they refuse to fix anything. Most of the staff has an attitude, I asked for the number to they corporate office and they said they can't give out that information. Talking to the office manager does not change anything she's either never there or on the phone and doesn't return calls. No matter how often i call about problems they say they have no record of me calling before. I would never recommend this place they are too high to be so out dated and are poorly managed.
Really can't wait to move hasn't been a pleasant experience. Been here for a month now. We have had 3 leaks in the ceiling. Repairs needed to be made on several items after we moved in. I've never had some many problems with an apartment. I actually miss my old apartment now.
Baywood appears nice from the outside, but they have proven to me that do not care about you or the issues you have with your apartment. When I put in maintenance request online, a few days later it will read , "resolved" even though no one ever showed up to attempt a repair. There is a sewerage plant next door and the smell is extremely offensive depending on which way the wind blows. They allow tenants to play loud music anytime, including late nights. They also allow saws, drills, and power tools to be used by tenants anytime they wish. I also often see cars speeding through the complex. Calling and reporting these issues by myself and other neighbors have made no difference because the office staff simply does not care. The only concern of the office is getting a monthly rental check. This is an awful environment for anyone with a job because you will lack sleep. My kids often complain of the noise and not being able to study or sleep. My experience with Baywood has been my worst rental experience ever. Avoid the stress and regret, DON'T RENT FROM BAYWOOD.
They failed to, on purpose, mention so much. Especially this plant next door, sewerage, smell assaults you multiple times PER DAY. I've almost gagged several times. Drive around multiple times during the day . check all doors, cabinets. Look above the cabinets, my goodness nasty. I currently live here until the end of the month. Ask questions. Check everything, the dishwasher almost made me throw up. Yea tub peeled from day 1. I went to use the fitness facility and it was locked, when I called I was told there was a $50 key fee. I filed complaints with the BBB and Office of the Louisiana Attorney General, they are jokes. Both lamely informed that I could take take Baywood to court. Even after I faxed lease showing nothing had been disclosed about $50 key fee. I was asked about military service, one of the first questions BBB asked. I am a taxpaying, born here, citizen why should it matter. Then the rent amounts online were almost $200 less than what was told, and given some flim flam story. Wish i could attach these pictures and responses from BBB and Atty Gen . Then online I gave $36 and $100 hold fee, that when I was called and told the rent was different I would have been out $136 and probably in jail. $895 is the base rent, then trash, and water added so I paid $934 each month for 2bdrm, 1 bath, $1000 sq DON'T DO IT. ASK QUESTIONS, OPEN EVERY DOOR AND WINDOW.
My apartment complex is quiet and cozy . There is a dog park and nice picnic area where the children can gather . I often work long hours at night and when I return home , it's peaceful .. I love to hear the kids play and run around in the picnic area . The management here is great and always ready to accommodate . I love it here , it's home .
I had 2 windows when I moved in that did have screens. I love having the windows open and I wrote it on the paper that the bedroom windows screen was cut and the same with the door screen. I called the a month after I moved in and asked them to fix it and it took them 5 months to even come out and look at it. They said they had to order the products and that it would be a month. 2 months went by and its still not fixed. I moved out, so I don't know if it ever got fixed. The place is small, I liked it for my first apartment.
