Chinatown, which is located on the southeast side of downtown, is part of the International District, along with Japantown and Little Saigon. It is one of Seattle’s eight historic neighborhoods, dating back to the mid-1800s. This popular community is home to some beloved locations, including Seattle’s first Chinese restaurant, Tai Tung, which opened in 1935. Other great locations include the New Century Tea Gallery, the historic Panama Hotel, and the Wing Luke Museum.
The photo-worthy Chinatown Gate, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, welcomes visitors to Chinatown. Rich with culture and community, Chinatown hosts a variety of events, including the Dragon Fest and the Lunar New Year Festival. Residents gather at the popular Hing Hay Park, which features an elegant pavilion and gate. The park hosts the popular night market, an open-air bazaar, every fall.

Property Ratings at BEAM
I was a resident for 18 months had 500 dollar deposit when moving out they overcharged me for additional 280 dollar, i called them they said they will fix this but it’s been a while Beam did not returned my deposit back and no further update. Similar incorrect charges happened at least twice while I was resident ,one double charged parking lot fee and one additional utility fee because they forgot to link my Seattle city lights account to their system. And each times takes several months and multiple visits to leasing office in order to get their attention to fix it I don’t really recommend this complex unless you don’t care your money and have to go through the difficult time to deal with Beam apartments Right now I just wish I don’t have to resort to the court to get my deposit back

Absolutely terrible company with appalling business ethics. Do not work with them. I applied for an apartment here a few days ago. For reference, I am a travel nurse and I make 5 times the rent, as well as having an average credit score. The building itself is surrounded by homeless people, drug users, open air drug markets, gang and police activity, and the city’s homeless intake center. Many residents report frequent car theft and violent crime. However, I was willing to overlook all of that for the chance to live amongst some interesting culture. Well, they declined my application through a third party site known as “Rent Grow”, after taking $350 from my bank account “as a deposit”. Beam Apartments and their owner, Avenue 5 corporation, act as if they have no idea about anything when I try to communicate with them. The operators on their website refuse to talk to me about my refund. When you call, no one answers the phone. When you email, no one responds. During all of this, I did get calls from the apartment showing staff, asking if I was still interested in viewing an apartment. Completely incompetent staff, zero internal communication. Finally someone emailed me back without an introduction, telling me “I’m sorry you cancelled your application. Do you want us to send your refund to the last address you gave us?” This address being a hotel I’m staying at as a travel nurse. I told them no. They withdrew the funds electronically, essentially stealing $300 from me, so they should be able to put the funds back electronically. Look, I get it, a lot of businesses operate like this nowadays. They believe that thievery, poor business ethics, shoddy training, nonexistent communication, and treating customers like garbage is their best course of action. And that is THEIR choice. But WE also have choices, who we do business with. And I would NEVER do business with a company that acts this way. And I am just so grateful that I dodged a bullet here. So glad I will not be living at Beam, as I found a better apartment in a better location for me. Please take warning.

Their leasing agent Jennifer convinced me to end my current lease a month early (in August) so I could move in here as she claimed they couldn’t hold an apartment for me any longer than that. She then did not reach out to me for almost the entire month of July after I toured with her and completed and returned the application documents at the end of June. She waited until the end of July to let me know there’s a ton of paperwork that she has NOT done and information that she needs from me. Even after promptly submitting everything she asked for and giving her all the information she needed to be successful in securing my move in…it’s been pushed back. So right now I’m more or less in between homes less than a week before I travel out of the country for my birthday and the management at BEAM couldn’t care less about the many inconveniences they’ve caused me. All of this happened even after I told them that a similar situation is what caused me to hate my current apartment’s management. Irony at its finest, the grass really isn’t greener on the other side.

Shamur, this review makes us internally disheartened. My Regional has been handling your account directly. She will be calling you over the next 24 hours to discuss. Sincerely, Management
