Established in the mid-1800s as a mining town during the Gold Rush, Denver embraces its Western heritage along with a forward-thinking mindset. Larimer Square is a testament to Denver’s balance of old and new, boasting rows of creative restaurants, independent shops, and vibrant nightlife spots in Victorian-era buildings downtown.
Located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Denver is renowned for its great outdoor adventures. Residents enjoy more than 5,000 acres of parks, trails, golf courses, and playgrounds as well as convenience to Red Rocks Park and Cherry Creek State Park. Denver is proximate to world-class skiing and snowboarding opportunities just outside the city too. City center skyrises provide incredible views of the mountains to the west, while spacious suburbs with single-family rentals make for the perfect place to set down roots.

Property Ratings at Bear Valley Park Apartments
As a forewarning, this is going to be a long story. Long story short - they jerked us around and I'm pretty sure they were trying to put us in a smaller unit than the one we were originally assigned to, because the large unit we signed for is probably a lot easier to sell. Our unit wasn't ready for our scheduled move-in date (August 10th - they told us 4 days before we were supposed to move in), because of damage from the last tenant (according to them). Our current lease didn't expire for 20 more days so we decided to wait because we were told it would be ready September 1st. Around August 20th, they let us know the unit still wasn't going to be ready, but that they could move us into a different, smaller unit that wasn't the one we signed for until it was ready, which would be mid-November according to them. They said they "couldn't" provide us with an exact date. I was hesitant, but said this would be fine as long as we didn't need to sign a new lease. I was assured we wouldn't have to. I spoke with my roommates and gave them a call back a few days later. When I called them back, they told me they'd send the new price we would be paying (different because it would be for a different unit and the full price of the month). They also said they'd send the "contract" shortly. Again, they told me I wouldn't have to sign a new lease, so I was confused, and asked what they meant. They wanted us to sign a 12-month lease for the smaller unit we were meant to be staying in temporarily. I asked for either a short-term lease or an addendum to the original lease stating we would be transferring as soon as the other unit was available. They refused to do either, and said all they could do is have us sign some sort of resident form saying they intended to transfer us (which I'm guessing would not be legally binding for them, or why wouldn't they just write the addendum or do the short-term lease?). Anyway, we've decided they're not worth the hassle, if they have already caused us this much stress before we even moved in. We would rather take on the stress of finding a new place in 10 days than rent with them.
This place lets tennants do whatever they want. The next door neighbor lets his dog out throughout the day off the leash and the dog poops right in front of my apartment. This neighbor doesnt bother to clean it up at all. ITS DISGUSTING AND UNSANITARY. I have spoken to the office multiple times and they have NOT resolved this issue. I filed a complaint with the State of Colorado because this is ridiculous. I dont even know why any reputable apartment complex would let this go this far. DONT RENT HERE!
Lisa, Nichole and the team are the best we have had while living here the last 5 years! Caring, friendly and always helpful! We’ve been living here for almost 6 years now and still love it! Rental prices in Denver are still on the high side right now- but you get what you pay for! If you want to pay just $1000 a month, you can’t expect Vaulted ceilings, new cabinets, stainless steal appliances and hardwood floors-just some of the upgrades we’ve had since living here (my rent money well spent!) The staff are amazing, from the office ladies who address my concerns within 24 hours, to the maintenance guys who always show up when scheduled and finish the job properly. Thank you to Bear Valley for making my apartment a home!
